BB Curve 8520/8530 :: No Primary Work Email Icon / All Email Accounts Dump To Messages
Apr 28, 2010
I used a Storm for the last 30 days, and had 3 distinct and separate icons:
Messages - catchall for everything
Desktop email icon
2nd/personal email icon
However, I switched back to the Curve (8530) because of the keyboard, and now I don't have a primary desktop email icon. The only way to view work email is to use the messages icon where everything else goes as well. Is there any way to create or separate the two email accounts so I can view the work email separately?
I have an enterprise email account through my work. I recently added my personal account to my phone via the setup wizard. Everything works great but I was wondering if I can setup my "messages" folder so it only displays my work account? Also, I accidentally sent a few emails for work with my personal account and wanted to make sure that my work account was the "Default" email.
i resterted my device a few days ago and when it turned on i noticed my email folder changed appearance? instead of being the custom theme icon it changed to a little folder with a orange folder underneath? how do in get rid of this? and what the **** is it? im on t-mobile UK as my carrier
Each time my phone has to restart or reboot, my email icon which is AOL(green envelope w/ a blue AOL/logo @ bottom of envelope) disappears and the standard icon appears in home screen. Before to get it back, i go to email setup and delete it then add it back, then AOL icon returns. Now doing it the same way, my green AOL icon does not return anymore! just the standard one, can anybody help on how to get it back? Please!!Thanks!!
I have searched around and found many problems faced regarding the email icon showing unread emails but in actual fact there are none. My problem however is the opposite of that - there are unread emails but it is not indicating as such.
This is specifically for Gmail as all my other email accounts are showing unread emails just fine. It is a minor issue but it does get on my nerves trying to figure this out.
Recent activities include upgrading OS to OS5 and changing telco, doubt if these are the cause of it. I have tried deleting and creating the email account and battery pull to no avail.
Just upgraded from 8330 to 8530. I am not a moron with these phones, but I can not get an unread email notification to disappear. I have no new messages, I have done repeated battery pulls, I have changed themes, I have gone through all my email accounts. I havd searched through this board, and don't see any other ideas that might solve this issue. At this point the little #1 at the top of my screen is my arch nemesis. Anyone have any other ideas?
I gave my 8320 to my niece , however i have two email accounts and a tmo.blackberry. email email on the phone, she is not using a data plan how do i delete the accounts off the phone? I can not find the icon for setting up email? what do i do?
Previous to recent update, I could delete messages either on just the 8330 or I could delete the message from both the 8330 and the primary e-mail box from which it transferred. Now after the update, I can only delete from the 8330. Is there a way to get this feature back?
I've created an email account for work and added this address to my blackberry. It now has its own icon on my phone. I want to keep those emails out of the 'Messages' folder on my Blackberry Pearl 8220. Can this be done? I'd like to keep my 'Messages' folder for my other two personal accounts.
When i get a new email from yahoo, and check it on the BB and after I read the email and delete it, it will not show up on my yahoo email when I check on my laptop. But when i check my email for yahoo on my laptop, it still shows up on my BB and doesnt delete unless I personally delete it. Is there an option that when i check my email from my laptop that it will delete on my BB??
So, I had to replace my BB8530 with a like-new replacement after my LCD screen adhesive had dried, but now I'm stuck.See, I don't know how they did it, but when I first got my BB the salesman was able to easily sync my school email address to it, which is on a gmail server.(Kent State, for anyone interested/has it themselves)
Could someone give me a walkthrough of how to do this on my own?(and yes, I looked at other threads before posting.)Also, I have Verizon's Backup Assistant, but it wont let me send all my contacts to this new phone. Anyone else have that problem/know how to fix it?
I have a 8520 and recently updated my software. After I did this my email envelope has disappeared. I have replaced my original settings and nothing. I do receive emails but in the general message envelope.
I have an ATT 8520 Curve unlocked to work with a tmobile sim card and have a few questions...Now that's unlocked I cant setup an external email account (hotmail, gmail, etc...) that icon is missing from the setup section. how can I get that feature? can I also use the bbm feature? I added a friend (and vice-versa) but it just stays as pending. is it possible to bbm? for the above 2 do i need to get the bb data plan so they can work? I've read elsewhere that the best way to get the features would be to load the tmobile handheld software. I went to tmobiles site, I enter my ph# - select the 8520 - click on handheld and it takes me to their 'shop for phones' page. I guess they now by the number that i dont currently have a bb. So I tried a friends ph# from tmobile who has a bb and it still took me to the 'shop for phones' page. So I Am hoping it's just a link glitch going on right now. I did download from this forum the 5.0 OS "8520wifiM_PBr5.0.0_rel860_PL22.214.171.124_A126.96.36.1999_W ind_Hellas.exe" which obviously is not tmobile. What would loading this different OS allow me to do? Or what features will I have available? and I have lowercase 'edge'.
Ok it seems since yesterday my 8530 has not been getting any emails from yahoo. Anyone have this problem? Anyone know of a possible cause and solution? not sure what the deal is. I have rebooted it a time or two and even hit reconcile and nothing. I sent myself an email from my phone and it went through but none others.
Did a OS ugrade to 188.8.131.521 yesterday as advised by desktop manager when I connected, problem is now no matter how I configure my profiles the vibration is always there when a call, txt, email comes in-done a battery pull etc.
Some new features are good-others bad!-like when you press the top 'play' button all it does is unlock the fone-instead of playing what music was playing before!.
Any clues on the vibration-it's turned off in all profiles but still ruddy gyrates!.
I have a work email account set up, and also a gmail account. For some reason, there are 2 email icons for the gmail account showing. I can just hide one I suppose, but does anybody know the proper way to fix that problem?
I bought a used 8530 for my Verizon service. When going through setup the phone only gives me the option of setting up email with a Blackberry email account. On my old Blackberry Pearl I was allowed to setup Gmail in the same page. What do I need to do to get Gmail setup and running?I was told that it may take a few hours for the data stuff to kick in from Verizon. Does that have anything to do with not being able to set up Gmail? I do have a Blackberry data plan.
I just got a replacement today for my previous Curve 8530. My previous one, when I first bought it, had separate folders for e-mails and SMS/MMS messages, but when I first started using the new one, they have been combined into one folder and I cannot figure out how to separate them. I saw a thread asking a similar question for the Tour 9630, but the answer given for that told to utilize menu options that are not available on my phone. Can anyone help me?
I have a new 8530 and even though I select "Delete on mailbox and Handheld" every time I delete an email, it only will delete it on the Blackberry. Reverse is also true, when I delete email on my laptop the emails do not delete on Blackberry (not sure if this is even an option). This happens on both my gmail account and my comcast account.
When i receive email to my emails inbox on the laptop it can be upto 15mins before my 8520 receives them. I was told by someone that it automatically searches for emails every 15 mins but was just pondering as to whether or not i can changes this so it is faster?
I am trying to set up a 2nd email address on my Curve 8520. I currently have 1 gmail set up. I had a 2nd awhile back, but deleted it when I didn't need it any longer. Now I have another that I need to set up, but every time I go to the email setup wizard, I get this error message:The site cannot be accessed in this manner. Please use the URL or link provided to you by your service provider. What in the world? Please help! I use T-Mobile, if that's needed information.
