BB Curve 8520/8530 :: Icon Blue Phone With Green Dot?
Jun 3, 2010I have an icon on my phone and don't know how to get it off. Its a blue phone with a green dot next to it and theres a 3. My voicemail was messed up when I got it and they fixed that.I'm just wondering if it has to do with my old voicemail. But I want the icon off! Any suggestions?

Sep 15, 2010For the past 3 or 4 days each morning I wake up my 8530 has lost the data connection. When I open "Manage Connections" I see a green check mark next to Mobile Network- Verizon Wireless and Wifi so I know it's connected. If I un-check the Mobile Network and wait for it to disable then reconnect it will work fine and all my e-mails and texts from the night get pushed through. I have great service at my house so I'm not sure why my phone keeps losing the data connection at some point during the night. I am running the latest OS .886 and this is my second 8530 "certified pre-owned device" as my first 8530 died. I also did a battery pull the first day I noticed this which re-connected the data but it happened again when I woke up the next morning.Has this happened to anyone else?

Jun 11, 2010When i get a new email from yahoo, and check it on the BB and after I read the email and delete it, it will not show up on my yahoo email when I check on my laptop. But when i check my email for yahoo on my laptop, it still shows up on my BB and doesnt delete unless I personally delete it. Is there an option that when i check my email from my laptop that it will delete on my BB??

Aug 3, 2010When i talk on the phone the keyboard light fades away; however, the call, blackberry, back, and end buttons all stay on THE WHOLE TIME i talk. I have talked for 30 minutes and it stays on. I have all the settings to as low as they go and i have it to where the lights fade. I just cant seem to figure out if this happens on everybody's phone or its just mine and i need to get it replaced. I have had no other complaints on this phone and the battery lasts a pretty long period of time for me but i know that if this issue gets fixed it would last even longer.

Apr 24, 2010Have had my 8530 for two months now and today I noticed that anytime I push a button on my phone for any reason I get a steady red LCD light. The LCD goes dark when the backlight goes out. The battery is charged and I can make phonecalls. I don't have any outstanding messages and have used the reconcile now option just in case. I scoured the net looking for a solution and the only thing I can find is to do a battery pull or disable the LCD. I definitely don't want to disable it, and I ran across one person who posted that when she did a battery pull that her BB didn't turn back on afterward--so I'm REALLY hesitant to try that!
I haven't upgraded anything on the phone. I was listening to Pandora when this seemed to happen, but I use Pandora every day.Any suggestions/thoughts? I'll do the battery pull if I have to, but I'm hoping to find other solutions.
BB Curve 8520/8530 :: 8530 School Email Set Up
May 6, 2010So, I had to replace my BB8530 with a like-new replacement after my LCD screen adhesive had dried, but now I'm stuck.See, I don't know how they did it, but when I first got my BB the salesman was able to easily sync my school email address to it, which is on a gmail server.(Kent State, for anyone interested/has it themselves)
Could someone give me a walkthrough of how to do this on my own?(and yes, I looked at other threads before posting.)Also, I have Verizon's Backup Assistant, but it wont let me send all my contacts to this new phone. Anyone else have that problem/know how to fix it?
BB Curve 8520/8530 :: Wont Boot - Went Dead - Tried To Charge -got The Red Light
May 10, 2010Ive got a big problem with my phone. It went dead last night and i tried to charge it with my pc and all i got was the red light. Once i got it to a wall charger the phone charged for a little booted and everything. It even accepted the txts i recieved while it was off. I leave the house for a couple hours i come back and the phone is off. When i plug the phone in nothing happens not even the yellow charge light. when i unplug the phone the red light comes on for a minute but the phone wont boot ive tried battery pulls and everything but the same thing happens everytime and i have no idea what to do. Ive never had this problem with any blackberry ive ever had.

Aug 26, 2010I am having an issue with my Curve 8520. I was using today and all of a sudden, it went blank on me. Now I try to boot it up again, even when its charging, and all I get is a flashing red light. It flashes 1 time, then it flashes 3 more times, some times faster, some times slower. Been looking for support (done the battery pull and everything) and ways to fix it, but don't find anything. Just have a black screen, its not detectable by the computer, and it only flashes red.

Aug 11, 2010I have an ATT 8520 Curve unlocked to work with a tmobile sim card and have a few questions...Now that's unlocked I cant setup an external email account (hotmail, gmail, etc...) that icon is missing from the setup section. how can I get that feature? can I also use the bbm feature? I added a friend (and vice-versa) but it just stays as pending. is it possible to bbm? for the above 2 do i need to get the bb data plan so they can work? I've read elsewhere that the best way to get the features would be to load the tmobile handheld software. I went to tmobiles site, I enter my ph# - select the 8520 - click on handheld and it takes me to their 'shop for phones' page. I guess they now by the number that i dont currently have a bb. So I tried a friends ph# from tmobile who has a bb and it still took me to the 'shop for phones' page. So I Am hoping it's just a link glitch going on right now. I did download from this forum the 5.0 OS "8520wifiM_PBr5.0.0_rel860_PL5.2.0.47_A5.0.0.509_W ind_Hellas.exe" which obviously is not tmobile. What would loading this different OS allow me to do? Or what features will I have available? and I have lowercase 'edge'.

Apr 28, 2010I used a Storm for the last 30 days, and had 3 distinct and separate icons:
Messages - catchall for everything
Desktop email icon
2nd/personal email icon
However, I switched back to the Curve (8530) because of the keyboard, and now I don't have a primary desktop email icon. The only way to view work email is to use the messages icon where everything else goes as well. Is there any way to create or separate the two email accounts so I can view the work email separately?

Jul 7, 2010Did a OS ugrade to 5.0.0.681 yesterday as advised by desktop manager when I connected, problem is now no matter how I configure my profiles the vibration is always there when a call,txt,email comes in-done a battery pull etc.
Some new features are good-others bad!-like when you press the top 'play' button all it does is unlock the fone-instead of playing what music was playing before!.
Any clues on the vibration-it's turned off in all profiles but still ruddy gyrates!.

May 31, 2010I bought a used 8530 for my Verizon service. When going through setup the phone only gives me the option of setting up email with a Blackberry email account. On my old Blackberry Pearl I was allowed to setup Gmail in the same page. What do I need to do to get Gmail setup and running?I was told that it may take a few hours for the data stuff to kick in from Verizon. My previous one, when I first bought it, had separate folders for e-mails and SMS/MMS messages, but when I first started using the new one, they have been combined into one folder and I cannot figure out how to separate them. Mar 29, 2010I have a new 8530 and even though I select "Delete on mailbox and Handheld" every time I delete an email, it only will delete it on the Blackberry. Reverse is also true, when I delete email on my laptop the emails do not delete on Blackberry (not sure if this is even an option).This happens on both my gmail account and my comcast account.

Before to get it back, i go to email setup and delete it then add it back, then AOL icon returns.
