Nokia Lumia :: 800 - Moire Effect When Displaying Dark Text On White Background
Jan 5, 2012I was surfing the web on my Lumia 800! It appears that whenever u get to a webpage (or application) that contains a white background and black text (which is usually the case in most pages!) and u look closely u can notice some moire effects that appears as horizontal white lines next to the text and these lines follows the text even when scrolling!! This is specially notable when u zoom in on a text or place the handset in landscape mode. Also the same moire effect appears but with vertical lines shifting between red and white as u zoom in and out of a picture with a white background! And No I don't have any screen protector (that in some cases can cause this effect) and Yes this is clearly a display issue because of these lines are being followed by my scrolling and not on a specific area on the display!

Jun 10, 2012added a second email account and after that the email icon on the home page is dark. it is there but it is not lit up like before and the red star for incoming mail does also not light up anymore. the new email account works fine.

Aug 15, 2010I recently bought BlackBerry Curve 8520, and today I noticed a dark spot on its screen it is only visible on white background, and the text reads just fine. The intensity of the spot changes it depends at which angle I am reading the text, etc. (well, this is rather obvious, I guess). I tried to reboot the device by removing the battery, it didn't help.

May 2, 2012My screen starts to flicker and goes completely black. My phone still operates where I can answer calls, when I plug it into the charger for a while it will come back. I have seen videos where people take a picture in a completely dark room with nothing but the focus assist light turned on and the picture comes out like it was taken in the day.No matter what I try, I cannot replicate this.With all settings are on Auto ( default ) and the flash off, I get nothing but a black picture.

I need the "mute" and "loudspeaker" functions which are usually displayed on the screen during a call, So they are displayed on mine, but they are disfunctional and vanish when the display dims dark.Even if I put the blackberry on the desktop and keep 0.5m distance from it, it dims to dark screen within 2 seconds after pressing the "call" key, and even an immediate press on the "loudspeaker" icon in the left bottom corner of the touchscreen within these 2 seconds is ignored.
