Nokia :: 6760 Slide - Lock Code Not Working Anymore
Feb 28, 2010On my 6760 slide, i tried to type my lock code which i was sure i knew but it didnt work. my lock code had an exclaimation mark in it but when i try to type the exclaimation mark, it doesn't register on the code screen. the button does work though as i tested it in the notes application.

Feb 23, 2010Am working in China where I bought a N97 last year. When pulling the phone out of the wallet (supplied by Nokia) last week the slide lock split and fell off. When my secretary took it to the Care Centre to get it fixed (her Chinese is better than mine) they charged RMB200 (about 20 pounds) to repair it. Is this normal? They said that even though the lock was probably faulty I could not prove it.When I called Nokia Care all they could say was 'this is our policy in China'. I like the phone but cannot stand the Nokia customer service these days.

Jul 11, 2010My phone model is Nokia 2680s.I want to learn if there is a way to lock and unlock the keypad merely with the slide operation. for unlocking the keypad it is not a problem. The feature already exists. However for locking the phone I could not find a way. Evenif I slide off the phone, the phone keypad is still active.
Before I was using samsung and this feature is default in samsung models and is very efficient. You just receive a call, slide open your phone or you browse the menus and when you slide off the phone, the phones keypad is locked! that's it.is there a way to apply such a feature for Nokia 2680s as well?

Jun 12, 2015I use a pattern lock and the security lock timeout is set for 30 minutes. I have the screen timeout set to 30 seconds. I have disabled the power button to immediately lock the phone. Every time I open my phone I still have to take the extra step to slide to unlock even though the phone is technically not locked. This is just an extra annoying step. Is there any way to skip the slide to unlock step?

I prefer that the only screen lock on my phone is the slider, but suddenly this option has gone away. When I hit the lock button, I expect that my phone's screen will go off and in order to turn it back on, I need to hit the lock button again and slide to unlock it. I do not want to enter a pattern, a pin, or a password. In order to get the slide lock to consistently show up after hitting the lock button, I need to add a pattern, pin or password. The slide lock will show up, but I also have to enter the pattern, pin or password after unlocking with the slide lock if the security lock timer setting has elapsed.

Aug 12, 2010I updated my OS on my 8900 to the latest version yesterday 5.0.0.681 Most of it looks the same, however I used to use the lock ley (top left ) on my handset, to password lock my unit before putting it in my pocket. Now I find this only put the unit into and out of standby. Does anyone know why this has been changed? Can it be changed back? I am really angry that this usefull feature has been removed without the ability to customise my handset and put it on.Why could it not have been an option to change what this key does? From a quick search on Google I see lots of other people have the same problem, and some are even paying to download aps to fix the problem!! For now I have changed my side convience key to activate the password lock, so all I have to do is keep remembering to press side button instead of top button. I cant even find anywhere that I can contact RIM about this, and request they reinstate the lock key. Very disapointed with the way this has been handled and the lack of support / advice / comment from RIM.

Jun 1, 2014My iPhone 4s went out last night and was just dead. Thought that maybe a couple drops of rain got in it, so did the rice thing last night. I'd hear it text/email ping throughout the night, so figured it was working. Today, looks/sounds fine. Clear graphics on front, song plays when a call comes in and I can briefly read the text messages. My problem is:Â
The screen lock will not move. Even if I do a power off...the power off slide appears, but can't move that either. I've done the hard shut downs (pressing top/bottom) buttons...goes black...Apple symbol...home page, but still can't slide the bar. I've tried that A LOT...at least a 100 times! Same for just "Power Off"...still nothing. Took to Verizon, and all he wanted to do was sell me a new one. Figure that will be the same at the Apple store.Â
All I want to do is get it unlocked at least once, so I can do a more recent backup. (I'll p/u another phone on eBay/Craig's list)Â

Jul 25, 2010i just bought the phone off of a mate knowing the problems but my g1 tottally died.so the only way i can make a call is threw a headset and also the ringtone speaker doesnt work so have to have my phone out all the time to see if i have a call/text :| when i open the camera i get "could not start the camera, close other applicaions and try oppening the camera again".
the lock and mute keys on top do not work atall and recently the volume key has stopped working. ive tried googling the problems but havent found much information on my problems. could it be the actual speaker. or the plastic midplate with the metal contacts on?im not too bothered about the camera and keys just the speakers soo i dont have to walk around with my phone in my hand with my headset in.

May 20, 2010I bought a nokia 5800d-1 last week. Everything was working fine till last week. Now, whenever I recieve a call, I'm not able to answer the call by sliding the answer option in the screen or unlock by sliding the unlock option. I have to unlock the touch screen by using the unlock button and then all the buttons in my touch screen works and i'm able to answer my call.
