I woke up this morning with an icon for the OS 7.1 update. So I started it probably around 7.30am. It is now 14.00pm and the screen hasn't moved from "Back up your device" "Social feeds 0%" and "Overall Backup progress 10%" since about 12pm.Is this normal? How much longer can I expect it to take? I can't do anything with my phone and it is stuck on that screen.

The trackpad is not working anymore, I can just click but not move it and after rebooting there are two error messages:

All of a sudden when take a pic get message "file system out of resources". When I try to review current pics just shows me generic thumbnails??

Is there anyway to make the desktop software to detect the update? If not then i will be trying to update it from apploader. I want to know that I got the blackberry from india, and it must have an OS for the carriers of india. So can I install the OS which is offered by the carriers of UAE on the RIM website? Will it have any effect or harm?

It keeps trying to restart over and over again. We don't even get to the menu. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Blackberry Curve 9360. i invoked a software upgrade on my phone and it has been frozen for the past 36 hours on the Backup screen. It keeps getting to the Overall Backup progress of 9% and stopping(Social Feeds). I've tried connecting it to the desktop manager but it does see it as being connected. I've tried taking battery out to reset, I've even followed instructions and tried to safe boot by restarting and holding escape key. But all this has not done anything it just goes back to backup screen and freezes at 9%.
i havent been able to use the phone for over a day.
My 9360 keeps on rebooting. I did the battery pull, press back button till reboot is done but it doesnt work. I also connected it to my pc to "update" as a previous person was advised but the 9360 is still rebooting.Perhaps the 9360 was'nt a good choice?

Has said this now for 11 hrs. We can't do anything with the phone, it wont go off this screen. However, whenI try to it comes up with amessage that says an error occurred, and I can't install it. My internet connection is fine. I've tried this a number of times with same result !! Any ideas what's wrong, or how to fix it ?Also, when on Blackberry Desktop Software and I click on 'pictures' under te Media Sync, it shows I have no pictures. I did have pictures, and pictures show up against my contacts, so I don't know what's happened, or if this is related to my updating problem. If I click on 'Music' I can see a message that states that I have insufficient storage to media sync.

View 3 Replies View RelatedHave had the same problem on some of our Curves with the 7.1 update. They can't scroll through text message/message conversations using the trackpad. With the 9360s its fine as if we downgrade to 7.0 the problem doesn't happen, but the 9320s come with 7.1 so there isn't an option to downgrade.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to get the calendar on my Curve 9360 to get items from, and put items to my calendar. My email/calendar is on a Microsoft exchange server, and I have it set up on my Blackberry Playbook (activesync) and sending/receiving emails or making/deleting calendar entries is seemless and instantaneous. The Curve on the other hand does not make it so easy.
I get/send emails no problem. The calendar on the curve does not update with new items posted elsewhere nor do new calendar entries made on the Curve get posted to the server. I do not have the same email account options on the curve 9360 as the playbook. I have never found an option on the Curve for wireless sync. The only way syncing works presently for me is to use desktop manager and press sync.
I did the recommended system update last night and now my phone is completely unusable! I am gettin the error message "App error 602" and the option to restart every time I restart I get the same message.

Will be porting her verizon number to page plus in the very near future, however, i would like to first get the phone updated and working good before we activate it. Got a few questions, I know there is an update for windows 6.1 but both of our pc's are running windows 7 and it appears that there is no update for that system. Is this true? is there a workaround? Also, how well will I be able to get this new phone to synch with my wife's computer? It would be great if she can have her calender and contacts synch up everytime she plugs the phone in. As per the original official update schedule of Motorola the update was due for this model(EUROPEAN EDITION) on Q4,2010.But this was not by Motorola.Hence on my enquiry Mark informed me that Motorola has revised the schedule and advised me to look for it.Hence I found out the the revised schedule of Q1,2011 and notice that the update has already started to roll out.But even after the end of one month after Q1,2011 I didn't receive the update.I use to check the update information in the phone everyday.It always says your systemis currently update.Whether Motorola will give me the 2.2 update ever?Will anyone of the Motorola officials or Mark himself will please clear my anxiety and advise me the steps to be taken further to get the update without anymore further delay.Further there is one more thing.Recently whenever I try for system updates in the phone by going to Settings>About Phone>System Updates a message appears "The device is unable to connect to server.Try again later.".But whenever I try again and again later the same message appears.Hence what I have to do to get the update if it has been aired?Is there any other way to find the update and download and install in the phone?the phone is connected to 2G and i can browse internet successfully.
