BB Curve :: 8520 Freezes On Reboot And Screen Will Go Off
Aug 22, 2012Whenever I try to reset my blackberry it will freeze at 75% and the screen will go off and it will do it all over again, when I connect my bb to desktop software it will come up with a message saying the device software needs updating during the update it says "reconnecting to JVM" and the desktop software will disconnect my blackberry is there anyway to stop this from happening.

Jul 19, 2011I have a Curve 8520. I installed a new theme today. It was the Beautiful Sunset in motion theme. Since then, when my phone reboots, the theme with its moving water appears, but nothing else works on the phone. None of the keys work and the screen display, other than the moving water, is frozen too. I have tried taking out the battery, waiting and then rebooting. All that happens is that the theme returns, and is stuck again. I have attached it to my laptop, but the Blackberry Desktop Software can't connect with the phone. I tried the "Start Run" App Loader, but got a message telling me the "Location is not available".

May 30, 2012I have downloaded the blackberry desktop software to update my software then plugged in my phone. It automatically begins to back up but freezes at RMS databases 12 of 13 records. I ctrl, alt, del to end program then have to take my battery out of phone to get it to work again. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the desktop software but it just keeps freezzing. This is driving me insane as I am not technically minded.

Mar 21, 2011I got my Curve 9330 in Oct 2010, it started freezing about 4 months ago, once every few weeks, over time it has gotten worse, so now it freezes every few minutes. Some freezes are "screen shots" where the time is off by a few minutes like its been frozen about 7 or 8 min and the cursor won't move, and some are freezes with the timer like its waiting on something. It takes me about 30 min to do something (text, email, facebook, anything) that should be a quick 2-3 min check. I have taken the battery out and that works for about an hour, then it goes back to freezing. I have done shift+alt+del to reset and that works for about an hour. I updated my OS, it stopped for about 3 or 4 days then started back up. I have checked to Application free space, there's 158.6MB. I do use my phone a lot, mostly quick check of things throughout the day.

This BB is given by my organization and is locked to Vodafone India.I installed a update to some app a few days back and after installing it the BB asked me to reboot to install the app. I clicked yes and since then it does not reboot. It just shows the red default Vodafone screen (BB being locked to Vodafone India). tried removing the battery. Didnt work. Tried to drain the battery and recharge it before rebooting but didnt work either.The strangest part is that if I remove the SIM card the BB boots perfectly but is practically useless w/o the SIM card.

Jan 6, 2012My Blackberry Curve 9300 regularly reverts to a screen saying 'connecting to desktop'. The phone then 'freezes' on that screen and I cannot do anything and the only solution is to open the back, remove and replace the battery and wait for the phone to reboot. This seems to do the trick but it's happening quite frequently which is a major nuisance, particularly since the reboot process takes such an age. Is there anything I can do to stop this happening?

problem is itermitent as in doesnt happen 100% everytime but when it happens it happens frequently and repeatedly
i can be using my phone and when i recieve a call or text it will freeze the screen will go completly white the red light on the front of the device will show then it will reboot it self this also happens when trying to open messages and emails and even when scrolling up and down the apps.
i have wiped my device with the blackberry software and reloaded it several times with different software bundles and each time the problem reacures even if i dont restore my personal settings and i have also removed the memory card.

Jul 28, 2011Just left a job and they let me keep my Curve. I completed the sucurity wipe down but I can't manage to remove the IT policy - unless I do this I can't hook up my hotmail. The sites I've seen so far refer to older Curve models and I can't make those solutions work for my 9300.

Feb 8, 2011For about the past two-three weeks, my Curve 8530 has started randomly rebooting - during calls, not during calls - I have not identified a pattern about when. When it comes back up 5-10 minutes later, the battery was always completely drained. I ordered a new battery and fully charged it. Day one with the new battery was uneventful - no random reboots, no loss of all battery charge after one 15 minute phone call, although the battery was low by the end of the day.
Today is day two with the new battery and I had another random reboot, however, this time at least my battery wasn't drained when it came back up. What causes these random reboots? Is there any way to get them to stop?
I am with Verizon and already did the *228 programming update before the new battery.

Mar 9, 2012I am experiencing very frustrating battery issues on my BB Curve 9300. I bought the device a month ago and had a brand new battery installed in no later than yesterday.Battery life is about 3 to 5 hours at the very best, whilst I am not using any specific 3rd party application.In addition, the "clock" apprears on a very frequent basis, slowing the system dramatically.I do not have any files saved on the media card ... Wi-fi has been disabled already as have Bluetooth. LAt, connection the mobile network is fine so I do not believe it has to do with the device desperately seeking connection.PS: I am based in France with SFR being my provider.

Sep 26, 2011I am now on my second BB9300. the first was brought back to Mobilicity corporate store to be sent in for repair. I had Texas poker, drivesafe.ly enterprise, weathertrax, gasbuddy, bubblebash 2 all were part of the complimentary gifts. I have uninstalled facebook, twitter apps. Taken all other languages off except english. Now I have even reduce backlight to 20% and turned off GPS. Leaving BB9300 inside pocket pouch just to test to see if it will last longer than 3 hrs. First day back it last 4 hrs. 2nd day last 3.5 hrs. It is almost as bad as my laptop Acer 5552-5686 which last 1.5hrs on 6cell battery. Does anyone know if I take out all apps then will it last longer?BTW poker game if I play two game which is about 20 minutes then battery life will be about 2 hrs. My question is what is the use of all these apps if you have no battery life. I cannot even use GPS?And to upgrade to another phone through their upgrade program after 3 months this one resale value is $50 how pathetic. I am going to test it for another wk before taking it back to Mobilicity for maybe a Samsung at least my last Samsung went through the laundry with extra wash and still work better than this crappy phone.

It seemed normal and I'd left it for a while but when I came back to it, the re-boot hadn't gone past about 2/3 of the way. Apr 21, 2011I just got my BB curve 9300 about a month ago. I noticed the battery dies when it still has 30-40% life in it. It doesn't even give me a notification or anything. It's on one minute and I look the next and it's off. It will only turn back on if I stick it on the charger and charge it. This becomes a problem when I depend on it as an alarm in the morning or if I'm going to be out all day. I close my applications and everything. I don't think that would be a problem in this case anyways since the battery seems to still have 30-40% life in it.
