My blackberry has all of a sudden started shutting off and rebooting itself.It does this very often and is driving me crazy because of how long it takes to turn back on.I just replaced the battery about a month ago because the one I had died.
View 6 RepliesI have a curve 9300 running os 6.0.0.600 and whenever the battery gets to about 30% the device just shuts off and I have to plug the charger in before it starts turn on again. This only happened a couple of weeks ago. I cannot find anything online related to this. Is this a battery malfunction and do i have to take the device back to my carrier?
View 2 Replies View Relatedmy girlfriends curve 9300 has been randomly shutting itself off. It's a little over a year old (no longer in warranty) and has no water damage. Once shut off, it needs to be plugged-in in order to start itself back up (hard restart process, taking apprx. 3 minutes). We have tried replacing the battery, I have reset it to factory settings, reloaded the OS from scartch, upgraded,downgraded, everythign I could think of, and yet the problem persists.We went to her provider (Virgin Mobile) but they were useless, and told us to make sure the blackberry is fully upgraded and if its still not working then we're out of luck.I understand that the blackberry is now out of warrantly however I am interested in the approximate cost and time for a repair, and we really can't afford a new blackberry at the moment.

This BB is given by my organization and is locked to Vodafone India.I installed a update to some app a few days back and after installing it the BB asked me to reboot to install the app. I clicked yes and since then it does not reboot. It just shows the red default Vodafone screen (BB being locked to Vodafone India). tried removing the battery. Didnt work. Tried to drain the battery and recharge it before rebooting but didnt work either.The strangest part is that if I remove the SIM card the BB boots perfectly but is practically useless w/o the SIM card.

problem is itermitent as in doesnt happen 100% everytime but when it happens it happens frequently and repeatedly
i can be using my phone and when i recieve a call or text it will freeze the screen will go completly white the red light on the front of the device will show then it will reboot it self this also happens when trying to open messages and emails and even when scrolling up and down the apps.
i have wiped my device with the blackberry software and reloaded it several times with different software bundles and each time the problem reacures even if i dont restore my personal settings and i have also removed the memory card.
my blackberry curve 9300 always freezes and I have to remove the battery to reboot.

View 7 Replies View RelatedOver the last 24 hours my Curve 8520 keeps randomly shutting itself off. I am also e problems experiencing with emails, social media updates and web browsing. I have had the handset for nearly three months. Emails, are not displaying properly, unable to web browse, delay in receiving Twitter updates and Facebook updates. Facebook won't refresh and Twitter is behaving nonsensically.
I have contacted Vodafone phone, firstly they advised me that it could be the sim card and and a new sim would be dispatched and they also advised me to reset the phone ( by taking the battery out) and refresh my mobile network which I did. However, problem still continued. I contacted them again and they carried out diagnostics at their end and advised me that it was the handset and I should send it off for repair. Which I will do but just wanted to hear other users thoughts/advice on what the problem could be. It is so odd that it has started to act up in the last 24 hours.
This has been happening a lot lately. My phone will be fully charged then all of a sudden it shuts off and if it turns back on, it shows the battery is just about dead. It is not a battery issue as I just purchased a new one, I have had this phone for about a year now and it just started happening. No, before you ask, its not getting unlocked and shut down by accident. Ensured its not just a low battery issue, as it happens even when it has been fully charged for several hours. It is random and can happen constantly or just a few times a day. It is showing the water damage indicator on the battery, but neither phone has really every been wet. The person at our retail store said it is very sensitive to humidity -(such as being in the bathroom during a shower) and we have had very high humidity levels in our area lately, but that seems rather extreme that our 2 1/2 month old phones can't stand the heat and humidity? They are both working properly if we can get them to stay on.

How much are the fast reboot or reboot/kill software really needed on ICS?im finding that even on a large exclude list there are still apps that run, that i dont really need and eat up some of the interal memory.is there any other way other than rebooting all the time to get rid of them? Will rebooting drain more battery energy?

I bought the device a month ago and had a brand new battery installed in no later than yesterday.Battery life is about 3 to 5 hours at the very best, whilst I am not using any specific 3rd party application.In addition, the "clock" apprears on a very frequent basis, slowing the system dramatically.I do not have any files saved on the media card ... Wi-fi has been disabled already as have Bluetooth. LAt, connection the mobile network is fine so I do not believe it has to do with the device desperately seeking connection.PS: I am based in France with SFR being my provider.
