My Blackberry Curve 9300 is shutting down when the battery is charged. It can shut down at any time, and it is important for family contact reasons that my phone is available at all times. I can only restart the phone when the battery charger is plugged into the phone. It will not restart without it. Should I be replacing the battery with a new one?

I have a curve 9300, when I was using it, a message popped up saying that the battery was drained and it was shutting down. It was fully charged at the time and I haven't been able to turn it back on. I've tried taking the battery out many times and I've left it on charge all night.

This only happened a couple of weeks ago. I cannot find anything online related to this. Is this a battery malfunction and do i have to take the device back to my carrier?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy curve is nearly 2 years old so my warranty is over. I replaced the battery 4 months ago b/c my phone wouldn't stay charged for even 1 day. Virgin said they could do nothing for me so I went ahead and just bought a new battery. The same problem has arose but its getting worse each day. The battery symbol shows its at about 80%, I will send one bbm and it will shut off (and not turn back on) until I plug it in. When I do so the battery is at about 20%. I don't even use my phone all day!

View 6 Replies View Relatedmy girlfriends curve 9300 has been randomly shutting itself off. It's a little over a year old (no longer in warranty) and has no water damage. Once shut off, it needs to be plugged-in in order to start itself back up (hard restart process, taking apprx. 3 minutes). We have tried replacing the battery, I have reset it to factory settings, reloaded the OS from scartch, upgraded,downgraded, everythign I could think of, and yet the problem persists.We went to her provider (Virgin Mobile) but they were useless, and told us to make sure the blackberry is fully upgraded and if its still not working then we're out of luck.I understand that the blackberry is now out of warrantly however I am interested in the approximate cost and time for a repair, and we really can't afford a new blackberry at the moment.

I have a BB Curve 8302. Yesterday the battery depleted unusually fast (with in about 2-3 hrs with hardly any use). I put it on the charger for about 3hrs. Still showed the battery symbol (top left) as dead. And the words low battery below the clock. I left it charge over night. Still same thing. I put the battery into a friends 8320 & it showed fully charged no problem at all. I can access the phone if I have it plugged into the computer or charger. But the moment I disconnect it says something along the lines of "battery drained powering down". And it turns off my phone. So I have discovered there wasn't anything wrong with the battery. So is there something wrong with the phone? Or is there something wrong with the firmware? Even when I go to the wrench Icon & check battery level from there, it say 0% for charged. What can I do?

Now when I charge the phone ( using usb cable plugged to the power outlet on the wall) on right top corner it displays "battery is charged" (battery icon with a plug) but % of charge remains at 5%.

I bought the device a month ago and had a brand new battery installed in no later than yesterday.Battery life is about 3 to 5 hours at the very best, whilst I am not using any specific 3rd party application.In addition, the "clock" apprears on a very frequent basis, slowing the system dramatically.I do not have any files saved on the media card ... Wi-fi has been disabled already as have Bluetooth. LAt, connection the mobile network is fine so I do not believe it has to do with the device desperately seeking connection.PS: I am based in France with SFR being my provider.

I had Texas poker, drivesafe.ly enterprise, weathertrax, gasbuddy, bubblebash 2 all were part of the complimentary gifts. I have uninstalled facebook, twitter apps. Taken all other languages off except english. Now I have even reduce backlight to 20% and turned off GPS. Leaving BB9300 inside pocket pouch just to test to see if it will last longer than 3 hrs. First day back it last 4 hrs. 2nd day last 3.5 hrs. It is almost as bad as my laptop Acer 5552-5686 which last 1.5hrs on 6cell battery. Does anyone know if I take out all apps then will it last longer?BTW poker game if I play two game which is about 20 minutes then battery life will be about 2 hrs. My question is what is the use of all these apps if you have no battery life. I cannot even use GPS?And to upgrade to another phone through their upgrade program after 3 months this one resale value is $50 how pathetic. I am going to test it for another wk before taking it back to Mobilicity for maybe a Samsung at least my last Samsung went through the laundry with extra wash and still work better than this crappy phone.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got my BB curve 9300 about a month ago. I noticed the battery dies when it still has 30-40% life in it. It doesn't even give me a notification or anything. It's on one minute and I look the next and it's off. It will only turn back on if I stick it on the charger and charge it. This becomes a problem when I depend on it as an alarm in the morning or if I'm going to be out all day. I close my applications and everything. I don't think that would be a problem in this case anyways since the battery seems to still have 30-40% life in it.

However, when I plugged it into my 240v wall charger, it came up with a battery symbol and a red cross over the top, something i have never seen before. I have taken the battery out and out it back in many times now and no luck. The LED turns red for a few seconds upon inserting the charger, but goes off and will not allow me to turn the phone on as usual.I have looked at my battery and next to the gold contact plates, is a little white strip, its turned partially red. The only apps running are whatsapp, facebook and bbm. - even if I don't touch my phone the standby time is bearly 2 days (manufacture specs claim 19 days standby time). Surely this can't be right.
