BB Bold :: Any Way To Recover Lost Data?
Nov 7, 2011I downloaded the BB desktop software because I needed to update the BB, so I connected the Blackberry Bold to the computer. And somewhere it decided to clean my phone completely. I was not asked to back up. I have asked some friends and they said that usually its always asking to backup before. I'm very disappointed by the last happenings at RIM. Is there anyway I can recover the lost data. As we can do with computers can we do the same with BB phone? I also have searched on my laptop some "ipd" files and found some strange MFL files but I cannot read them.

Nov 8, 2012My phone encountered an Error 603, for which i performed a wipe of the phone using my mac,and was followed by Error 602, which required me to perform a re-load of the device software. However, on device doftware reload, i find that the bold 9780 signature apps;feeds, appworld, games and other apps have all vanished. i tried installing appworld and the same is not installing, i.e., it installs from the browser, but does not show up on the menu. This also prevents me from installing a lot of other apps which i need to have on the phone. right now its working just as a basic phone with email and preventing me from enjoying the complete blackberry experience.how can i install back all my apps. As I am using a mac, the back up did not include important software like wallet and password keeper, which also I have lost. Also documents to go has gone missing. I have lost a substantial amount of functionality of the phone and without blackberry appworld i dont think i will be able to get any of it back.

Apr 20, 2011I updated from 7.0 to 7.1 and just noticed that a number of my calendar entries are missing.I'm not entirely sure when this happened.I don't think it happened at the time of updating to the new OS but it's possible.I received an "out of application memory" error message a week ago and have read that people have encountered a loss of data with such an error.I did a backup of my data on May 17th before upgrading to 7.1 calendar entries = 800, today calendar entries = 369.Since I use my device on a BES all entries associated with the BES account appear to be intact but I've lost all other entries.When I went to restore the calendar entries only from the backup it is greyed out indicating that these are "read only data types and cannot be restored" when selecting "Select Data to Restore/Select device data and settings" as opposed to "All device data and settings".Unsure how to proceed - clearly the data is present in the backup based on the entry value do I need to do a full restore and rollback to 7.0? in order to recover the calendar entries??

Jan 29, 2012After putting my phone on charge last night, I woke up to my 9900 with a blank screen and a red light that blinks every couple of seconds. No amount of battery pulls would fix the problem. Upon researching for a solution I discovered that this issue is actually a very common problem with the 9900. At this rate, I don't really care about recovering my phone as it seems that the model is entirely unreliable anyway. Just want to know if anybody with this issue has been successful in retrieving files stored on their device. I recorded some important videos a few days back, and stupidly saved it directly onto the device instead of the memory card. Desktop manager doesn't recognize the phone with or without the battery inserted.

Jul 22, 2011I am on the Mobilicity network which has a bit spotty coverage in some areas and the phone can roam several times a day for a short time when traveling about the city or when on the edge of coverage. My Mobilicity plan has unlimited data while in their native network but the roaming rates for data are extremely high. It is surprising how quickly the charges add up when out of coverage for a very short time. Selecting Disable Data While Roaming turns off the BB data while roaming, but not WAP data. I would like to automatically disable ALL data while roaming so that when out of coverage there will be no data charges but when back in coverage the phone will have access to all data services. I realize that the phone could be set to the Mobilicity network only but I wish to be available by phone and SMS, even when out of Mobilicity coverage. I would like the operation to be automatic since this situation is not quite the same as going for an international trip and it is impractical / incovenient to manually turn the data services on and off manually throughout the day.Is there a setting in the 9780 or a connection manager app that would take care of all of the data connections while going in and out of roaming?

I don't know why it does it, I had no problem with my bold 9000, but since I changed to 9700 I also changed my phone operator..Or maybe It's due to my faceplate change and I screwed myself not moving certain parts to the new faceplate..
