BB Bold :: 9780 GPS Doesn't Work
May 23, 2011I have bold 9780,and my GPS doesn't work so is it necessary to have internet or blackberry services to make it work?I know that A-GPS don't need any other connection to communicate with the satellites also I tried all the troubleshooting process and it say that GPS update fails so is it necessary to have internet connection or BB services?

Feb 23, 2011I have a Blackberry Bold 9780, i'm using v.6.0.0.294 on o2 in the UK.Over the past month i have noticed problems. I can't tell you what icons vanished first, but certainly Blackberry App World was one of the first to dissapear, now my phone lock has gone although i can search it and its actually hidden, it won't un-hide...Blackberry App world doesn't exist at all any longer on my Bold and even when i downloaded it again, it won't appear.(not sure if there are other icons missing these are the only 2 i've noticed so far).It says i am running the latest software so i dont quite understand whats going on.I have rebooted several times, no luck.I have been on the Blackberry menu and looked for a way to unhide my lock icon and it wont do it.

Sep 14, 2011I've just switched carriers as I've moved to Barbados, but when i try to activate the data on my phone with the new sim, it says the phone is incompatible with the service.I was advised by the new carrier to cancel the old data plan (which was prepaid so i had just forgotten about it) and to try again. Jul 22, 2011I am on the Mobilicity network which has a bit spotty coverage in some areas and the phone can roam several times a day for a short time when traveling about the city or when on the edge of coverage. My Mobilicity plan has unlimited data while in their native network but the roaming rates for data are extremely high. It is surprising how quickly the charges add up when out of coverage for a very short time. Selecting Disable Data While Roaming turns off the BB data while roaming, but not WAP data. I would like to automatically disable ALL data while roaming so that when out of coverage there will be no data charges but when back in coverage the phone will have access to all data services. I realize that the phone could be set to the Mobilicity network only but I wish to be available by phone and SMS, even when out of Mobilicity coverage. I would like the operation to be automatic since this situation is not quite the same as going for an international trip and it is impractical / incovenient to manually turn the data services on and off manually throughout the day.Is there a setting in the 9780 or a connection manager app that would take care of all of the data connections while going in and out of roaming?

Oct 16, 2010My Blackberry Bold 9780 keeps turning itself off, in my pocket or when I put it down on a table. At first I thought it might be a problem with the battery so I bought a new genuine battery for Blackberry and put it in my phone but I was still having the same problem. I decided to send a tweet to @BlackberryHelp on Twitter and they advised me to do a security wipe, which I did, and still my phone kept turning itself off. I sent them another tweet and another message but they haven't replied. I'm getting a little bit, put it this way, frustrated that when i've paid for a premium smartphone at over £400 I'm having problems after owning the phone for just over 6 months. The phone is therefore still under warrenty but I thought I would just put a message on here first before I contact them to see if it is a small fix that I can do myself rather than living without my Blackberry while it's sent off to be fixed.
I am getting quite fed up now because, I get the Blackberry logo up and I have to wait for the bar to go across (see below image) which takes AGES. I'd hate to rely on the phone in an emergency! After the BBM and e-mail outages not so long ago and now this, i'm SERIOUSLY considering scrapping my Blackberry all together and buying the new iPhone 4S.

Mar 31, 2012Purchase new sim in Germany but cannot verify Blackberry ID..when attempted to log in with the correct ID Error message read "Blackberry ID servise is temporary unavailable.
Further findings show that my phone not connected to Blackberry Enterprise Server.
Every other connections...i.e Wi fi and other connected.
