BB Bold :: 9780 Won't Switch On, Just Red Light Flashing?
Dec 16, 2011I plugged it into the wall charger last night as I always do, when I got up this morning the time on the clock showed 2.08am even though it was 5.45am, I unplugged the charger and the screen went black. I couldn't turn it on. I removed the battery and put it back in again and still the same, just won't switch on. The LED is flashing 1pause 1,2,3 pause 1, rather than a consistent flashing like when you have a message waiting.I have tried plugging the charger back into it but still nothing, just completely black screen and won't switch on.

May 23, 2011I have bold 9780,and my GPS doesn't work so is it necessary to have internet or blackberry services to make it work?I know that A-GPS don't need any other connection to communicate with the satellites also I tried all the troubleshooting process and it say that GPS update fails so is it necessary to have internet connection or BB services?

Oct 23, 2011i've blackberry bold 9000 phone. last night i was watching videos on Internet using wifi connection. all of sudden it got stuck and i got white screen. it was around 1:03 am. i was too sleepy so didn't bother to restart the phone and just kept it aside. around at 4 am i got up and found that my bb is dead. i immediately removed battery and tried switching it on. but no luck.then i connected it to my pc using usb for charge( as i don't have wall charger).the red light glows and stays constant whenever its connected(even after i removing battery) to usb. but it don't switch on. even i have already charged (i.e.. kept it connected to my usb) for 4 to 5 hrs. but no luck.

BB Bold :: 9900 Doesn't Switch On?
Nov 9, 2012Getting really angry with this phone now, 2nd or 3rd day without it turning on, what happened was it was running out of battery and I plugged it in thinking it was charging, not realising i've not actually turnt the socket on (typical manic mum moment) come back to it and it wasn't wokring, so now I decided to leave it over night on charge, nope... so went and brought a new charger thinking it might be a charger issue. still to no avail. Now its randomly varying between red led flashing with long pauses, sometimes it would start loading with the blackberry screen and loading bar then restart itself back to black screen and red led instead on going on to the main screen, other times its coming up with empty battery and red line through it... i've tried installing the blackberry desktop software to get it working that way, removed battery etc, held down the end call button, all the usual suspect moves.. and still nothing. I really need this phone to be working i've all my numbers, sons photos etc on there, really dont want to do a whole system reset..

Feb 23, 2011I have a Blackberry Bold 9780, i'm using v.6.0.0.294 on o2 in the UK.Over the past month i have noticed problems. I can't tell you what icons vanished first, but certainly Blackberry App World was one of the first to dissapear, now my phone lock has gone although i can search it and its actually hidden, it won't un-hide...Blackberry App world doesn't exist at all any longer on my Bold and even when i downloaded it again, it won't appear.(not sure if there are other icons missing these are the only 2 i've noticed so far).It says i am running the latest software so i dont quite understand whats going on.I have rebooted several times, no luck.I have been on the Blackberry menu and looked for a way to unhide my lock icon and it wont do it.

Oct 4, 2012I'm trying to get my bring up mass storage on my BB 9780 but it doesn't do anything. I've tried going to media card whilst connected to my laptop.
It just gives me the following options in storage:
Compression (Disabled)
Media Card Support - ticked
Then just give the amount of storage available. I need to transfer contacts to this BB 9780.

Feb 14, 2010I had been using my N900 for 2 weeks without any issues. I never updated the software. Last night I was trying to take a picture and opened the camera lens cover. Accidentally I pressed the power button instead of the camera capture key while trying to take the picture. The display went off. I also found the phone felt warmer than usual. I took the battery out, put it in and tried again. No success. This time the phone did seem to be getting hot. I took the battery out and tried several hours later. No effect - the phone wasn't feeling warm either. I tried both the USB and wall charger - the LED was glowing green, but the phone wouldn't turn on.
Now even with the charger connected, the LED doesn't glow. Being a Sunday, I can't contact Nokia Care till tomorrow. Breaks my heart to think the hardware could get messed up so easily. We've had several Nokias in the family but not a high end one like N900. I've tried everything suggested in other forurms (including Maemo). I tried to update software with NSU. The NSU can't even detect the N900 when I connect it to the USB port. Probably suggests the battery is flat. I don't have a 5800 to try and recharge the battery externally - its shocking to know the phone can't charge if the battery is flat. If a laptop can why can't a "smart" phone? Anything else I can try?
