I downloaded the BB desktop software because I needed to update the BB, so I connected the Blackberry Bold to the computer. And somewhere it decided to clean my phone completely. I was not asked to back up. I have asked some friends and they said that usually its always asking to backup before. I'm very disappointed by the last happenings at RIM. Is there anyway I can recover the lost data. As we can do with computers can we do the same with BB phone? I also have searched on my laptop some "ipd" files and found some strange MFL files but I cannot read them.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI updated from 7.0 to 7.1 and just noticed that a number of my calendar entries are missing.I'm not entirely sure when this happened.I don't think it happened at the time of updating to the new OS but it's possible.I received an "out of application memory" error message a week ago and have read that people have encountered a loss of data with such an error.I did a backup of my data on May 17th before upgrading to 7.1 calendar entries = 800, today calendar entries = 369.Since I use my device on a BES all entries associated with the BES account appear to be intact but I've lost all other entries. When I went to restore the calendar entries only from the backup it is greyed out indicating that these are "read only data types and cannot be restored" when selecting "Select Data to Restore/Select device data and settings" as opposed to "All device data and settings".Unsure how to proceed - clearly the data is present in the backup based on the entry value do I need to do a full restore and rollback to 7.0? in order to recover the calendar entries??

my calendar in Outlook that wiped all entries. Today I have tried to sync my curve to put the curve calendar back on Outlook and it said there were just a few changes to make between the two making me think that the entries are still in Outlook somewhere but not showing. I then tried a oneway sync and although it appears to do it, nothing is showing in Outlook.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am losing data from the Atrix. I have lost a file of pictures that I know were there but then disappeared. This morning I have made several calender entries and 10 minutes later they are not there. It may well be me not understanding how to retrieve them. So, when you make a calendar entry do you get a choice where it's filed, i.e. phone memory or "cloud". If it's in the cloud is there a way to retrieve them.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy quite new (3 weeks) S6 did a factory data reset on its own. It happened while I was driving for 2hrs on a highway, with the phone resting on the empty passenger seat, not touching the phone. Lost all data, all apps, all pics. Very frustrating. After 3 days of research (visiting Verizon store, calling Verizon, calling Samsung, internet research), the possible cause may the following:
About 2-3 hours before driving, the phone did a scheduled automatic update, which took more than 30 min to complete. This all happened in a signal-weak area. Tech support said, although the update completed, it may have had some flaws, and when the phone detects that, it may resort to a factory data reset to avoid greater functionality problems.
Unfortunately, the end result included functionality problems, most notably that the phone calendar only synched partially (!!) with my desktop Outlook calendar, and promptly I missed two important appointments.
When a scheduled update comes your way, make sure you backup all contacts, photos, data etc, before allowing an update to perform.
I wanted to share my Home iCloud calendar on my iPhone with my wife so we could both add our respective events and see when the other person is busy. So far, all well. I logged on to the iCloud web site and shared my calendar with my wife.
She then accepted the shared calendar, but then her own Home calendar was replaced with mine, and she can no longer find hers anywhere. It's not on iCloud when she logs on to the web site, and there is no trace of it on her iPhone. And is there a chance we can get her calendar back? There were a lot of events on her calendar.

My husband lost his iPhone yesterday. It's still on and rings, however it's no longer in his office, and assumed stolen. Unfortunately, he did not activate "Find my phone" or any other apps of the sort.
I was wondering, since his phone is still logged in to Facebook and Skype, can it be located somehow through them?

I updated the firmware of my iPhone 3GS to iOS 5.1 yesterday. After the update, I noticed that I have lost all of my contacts on the phone, so I plugged it back in to the computer and went with "Restore from backup", which was dated just a few hours prior to updating the firmware.
After it finished restoring, my contacts were all back but half of my apps are missing. I tried redownloading from the App Store as well as syncing from the computer, but the data (game saves, etc) are still missing. How do I get them back?
