i have been tried to send out sms but it keeps saying RETRIES EXCEEDED. I dont know if this is the carrier's problem or the phone problem.P.S. I have At&t. BBm works fine, i can call out and receive calls. But it just doesnt send out the sms. I tried to rebot it and other things but it still doesnt work.

On the old thread it sounded like I have no choice, but that was re: a different type of BB. If anyone knows how to even get into my options to look I'd appreciate it. I've read how other people are getting there - going from the main menu to email settings/options/advanced settings, etc, but I can't find all the "options" I need.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI can send MMS fine when it's a picture i take from the camera but if i save a picture from the web, either with opera mini or native web browser and attach it to a MMS, i can't send it. I don't even get an error, the msg just stays open with sending. I try again with a picture i took a few days ago and it goes through, i try a different picture i downloaded from the web and it's a no go.......

When I choose Compose sms, then choose a contact or type in a number, the chat window always appear with the same contact. And I don't seem to be able to send txts to any other one..I tryied a soft and a hard reset with no effect.

Living 5 mins. away from RIM in Waterloo I got myself a BB Bold 9700 2 weeks ago. Dataplan and everything from Rogers. Much to my aggravation I'm unable to send photos via MMS - I'm sure I'm doing it right as I followed the instructions while on the phone w. the IT BB specialist at the University of Waterloo. I was able to send a photo to her but to nobody else which includes a BB user neighbour, my son on Telus in Vancouver, a friend w. a Bell plan on a Palm. What gives? I could send a photo lickety split on my previous Motorola and I didn't even have a data plan. I'm sooooo frustrated. I tried to send the MMS with the photo in the "small" picture setting.

I can send sms messages aswell but it doesn't actually show as sent it just stays in the typing box at the bottom of the message.I know the messages are sending and be received because i sent a message to a work friend and he received it fine. He then replied and the message was shown as sent but i still have not received it.I have tried the battery reboot twice and still nothing. However when the phone restarts and verifys the security this message comes up:Uncaught exception: Index 10>= 10

Wipes make no difference, neither does upgrading/un-downloading the software.
I have had my first ever Blackberry for a few weeks now and am hooked on BB's for life. The only problem I have with my Bold 9700 is this; I have 2 email address sert up on my BB. I receive emails that are sent and can reply to emails that I receive. I can add an email address and type out the email but there is no send option. I have tried everything to see if I can alter this but no luck. Any advice anyone?
View 14 Replies View Relatedfor the entire time I have had AT&T I have been unable to send MMS messages. I've called AT&T and they've assured me that my MMS is set up correctly on their end. They even cancelled my plan and re set up my account multiple times. I use a 9700 now and previously had an unlocked storm that was unable to send or recieve MMS as well. I've tried swapping my SIM and my bold multiple times and no matter what, I receive the same errors. When I attempt to send an MMS (wether its just text, audio or pictures) I recieve the error message "failed to send message". When I recieve a MMS I recieve the message "go to viewmymessages.com to view this message" I can then pull the message up but its sorta a pain to constantly view my mms messages that way. Anyone got any ideas?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to get gmail working off & on for about a month now. I have had a gmail account for as far back as I can remember. I have set it up on my 9700 and received the "congrats" email from the bb service, but never receive emails.
Created a NEW gmail account, and have tested from my hotmail account (which IS receiving and sending fine on my BB). Still not receiving gmail on device. Called T-Mob, spoke to rep and BB supprt rep. I recieved 2 or 3 emails that night (couple of weeks ago). Nothing since.
Can:
Send an email to hotmail account and gmail accounts from my BB (using a gmail account to send) and I receive them on my computer. I recieve the hotmail email on my BB, but not the gmail. No matter what I do, I can't seem to receive gmail on my BB.
I have:
•Resent the Service Books from both the Handheld and my PC (A few times)
•Registered a few times through the Host Table and got the registrering email
•Checked to ensure no filters interfering on my provider setup and made sure that it is set to "forward to device"
•Deleted the Gmail Account and set it up again - same issue
•Set up a hotmail account, which works fine.
•Confirmed Gmail settings (on gmail site). POP is enabled (recent)as well as IMAP
•Checked Firewall settings
•Rebooted my Blackberry by pulling the battery after most of the events above

View 1 Replies View RelatedRandomly, my BB will start sending/recieving data (the rx/tx arrows constantly changing back and forth) and the entire phone will lock up. None of the buttons work, it wont respond to anything for about 2-4 mins. Then everything returns to normal. I notice it most in the facebook app or Viigo, mostly because thats when im scrolling a lot. Occasionally, the last button pressed will register after it wakes up from its coma, ie, if i press the back button when its frozen, and nothing after that, when it wakes up, it will *sometimes* register the button. I never get any messages or anything when its doing this.

When I attempt to send something, I get the check mark beside the message confirming it was sent, but they are not being delivered and I am no receiving messages.
Which settings do I need to check? I know it has the latest software. I updated it today.
If any contact is in my address book I cannot send out email or pin messages has a red clock. tmobile sent me new phone does samething. we did everything to basic to redo operating system. super frustrating never had an issue till i got my 9700.

-batt pull
-batt pull + remove sim card
-update FW .423>.442
-wiped and relode FW (.442)
-resend service book
-re-register host routing table
Then I look at manage connections>Services status and it says, Mobile Voice status: not available connection: not connected. put my sim card into another phone (nokia) it could make, reseive call and sms so it shouldn't be sim card problem. Other services are working fine, BBM, email and facebook.
I have gmail on my 9700 and everytime I send a email it doesnt show up as a sent emal. It doesnt show nothing. I could only see my recieved emails. Also, I noticed Im not recieving emails immediatley on my 9700. It takes atleast five minutes or more after the email has been sent to actually get it on my 9700. Is this normal? I just noticed it took about twenty minutes after an email was sent to recieve it on my 9700?

I've read many, many solutions found on the internet all day today to the point I am exhausted, so I have no other choice than to take some of your valuable time to assist me. I did the Options/Advanced/Service Book delete and restore CMIME trick and no change.

View 7 Replies View RelatedAny picture I take save of have already had on my phone won't allow me to view it in the media folder. Even the sample pics won't give me any options. If I push down on the trackpad or hit the blackberry (menu) button it just sits there. Music, vids, ringtones, everything else works fine. Tried reformatting the card and repairing it and nuthing happened. I'm going to download the current OS for at&t and see if that works. I'm on a bold 9700 on at&t running 5.0.0.405. The only thing that I think has happened between the last time I was able to view a picture was I told it to do a wirelees update and the firmware update completed successfully. Anybody have any other ideas?
View 5 Replies View Related9700 (got it in november, right after launch) i am running .442 OS (crappy, need to update it) and my PC is on windows 7 ultimate 32 bit. for a while now, when i connect my BB via USB, the PC recognizes it, and i can modify the files on my SD card as much as i want, for as long as i want.BUT if i try to do anythign with DM (backup, load new OS, etc.) it will communicate for a few seconds (generally less than 30) and then stop. the DM still says it is trying to communicate, and my BB shows that it is connected to the DM, but with no send/receive arrows. after a WHILE, it times out.charges fine via USB, SD card works fine via USB. as far as i can see, all of the pins are there.i have tried a few different computers with the same result. this an OS bug? what should i do? i can probly get it to communicate enough for a bare-bones backup of contacts/etc., and then wipe/reload, but im afraid that if i try that, it may hang up yet again and leave me w/o a phone!any ideas? i REALLY need to get rid of this crap OS w/ crap battery life, that keeps giving me 523 errors.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have my phone set up to auto off and on each day. I also have run a Wifi at my house, so my phone is always using this connection first. Most times when I try to send my first message of the day it hangs until I shut down all connections. I do notice that the UMA isnt connected. I see the 5 bars with wifi. After a on/off cycle the UMA and wifi come back on. The wifi signal is strong at 2-3 lines always. Its like the 3G and UMA are fighting one another and no one wins. Am I missing something?

But one problem i'am having trouble with sending and receiving text messages. I have called att customer care numerous times and powered cycled my phone as many times as I can count but still nothing, I have also checked to see if the "service center" number is correct and it is, I still have no clue what it could be. When i send an sms text message and scroll up to the message it says "sent" and the date and time but i ask the recipient if he/she has received the text but still nothing.
