I have an issue where I can't send sms to different contacts. When I choose Compose sms, then choose a contact or type in a number, the chat window always appear with the same contact. And I don't seem to be able to send txts to any other one..I tryied a soft and a hard reset with no effect.

I'm having two issues with texting on my Blackberry Bold 9700.
1-I can't send or receive texts from certain contacts (right now it only seems to be from my boyfriend, we're both on At&t).
2-My text threads lock-up. A new text comes in, but I can't actually open the message. I can open all the previous messages, but any message at the top won't open.
Apparently my device is set to automatically send out read mail receipts. Can I change that option to never send them out? On the old thread it sounded like I have no choice, but that was re: a different type of BB. If anyone knows how to even get into my options to look I'd appreciate it. I've read how other people are getting there - going from the main menu to email settings/options/advanced settings, etc, but I can't find all the "options" I need.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI got a new BB 9700 Bold yesterday and having problems with setting up the sync for the calendar and the contacts which are on my outlook. My hotmail email accounts are working okay. The outlook is on my PC and is the front face for my hotmail accounts.
When I go in to the BB Desktop device manager - version 5.0.1 (latest version) , I go in to the configure option on the left and it lets me click on calendar> then I select outlook and it then lets me select 'finish'. However at this stage an error box flashes up saying 'no available message stores'.
In addition when I check the wifi config on the calendar and contacts icons on the BB device it will not let me select yes on the wireless connection for them.
The contacts in outlook have only my new contact info (1 contact) and the desktop and wireless software want to synchronize with this folder. The sync works between the two devises however it does not recognize the loads of contacts that are on my blackberry devise. I have tried all of the options on the advanced sync option to try toget outlook to download the contact from the Blackberry 9700. How do I get these two to synchronize?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI noticed that my bold 9700 is restarting on its own , then the screen become white with writing JVM error 503, I search the internet to find out what happen, but few second later the phone rebooted own its own.
so i cross my finger while it was doing it. to my relieve it starts ok. But after few hours when i want to call somebody on my phone book, to my horror, the whole contacts on the address book are gone, not even 1 left, it’s totally empty. bbm, notepad, email, bookmarks, sms are fine , nothing is missing only the contacts are gone, and I’m now overseas for company meeting, and i didn’t bring any backup file with me, I’ve been a maniac for smart phones, i used Symbian, IPhone, android, winMo, etc and NONE of them ever give me such a problem out of no where, my 2000+ contacts are gone. And no I didn’t install or do anything to my phone since few weeks, cause I’m on my business trip.
is there any solution to my problem? I’ve tried sending service book bust doesn’t seem to help. Seriously, if Any of RIM employee or designer happens to see this post, i got question for you. This supposed to be a business phone, and now all my business contacts are gone.
My apologies if this is discussed somewhere else, I looked, couldnt find it. So does anybody know of an easy way to sync my contacts FROM my blackberry TO my gmail contacts? I have google sync on my phone, but that only messed up my contacts by dumping a bunch of duplicates into my BB contacts and it doesnt seem to reverse sync. I have since deleted my gmail contacts so I dont suffer this fate again, but cannot for the life of me figure out how to reverse sync from BB to gmail.

I don't even get an error, the msg just stays open with sending. I try again with a picture i took a few days ago and it goes through, i try a different picture i downloaded from the web and it's a no go.......

Much to my aggravation I'm unable to send photos via MMS - I'm sure I'm doing it right as I followed the instructions while on the phone w. the IT BB specialist at the University of Waterloo. I was able to send a photo to her but to nobody else which includes a BB user neighbour, my son on Telus in Vancouver, a friend w. a Bell plan on a Palm. What gives? I could send a photo lickety split on my previous Motorola and I didn't even have a data plan. I'm sooooo frustrated. I tried to send the MMS with the photo in the "small" picture setting.

I can send sms messages aswell but it doesn't actually show as sent it just stays in the typing box at the bottom of the message.I know the messages are sending and be received because i sent a message to a work friend and he received it fine. He then replied and the message was shown as sent but i still have not received it.I have tried the battery reboot twice and still nothing. However when the phone restarts and verifys the security this message comes up:Uncaught exception: Index 10>= 10

Wipes make no difference, neither does upgrading/un-downloading the software.
I have had my first ever Blackberry for a few weeks now and am hooked on BB's for life. The only problem I have with my Bold 9700 is this; I have 2 email address sert up on my BB. I receive emails that are sent and can reply to emails that I receive. I can add an email address and type out the email but there is no send option. I have tried everything to see if I can alter this but no luck. Any advice anyone?
View 14 Replies View Relatedfor the entire time I have had AT&T I have been unable to send MMS messages. I've called AT&T and they've assured me that my MMS is set up correctly on their end. They even cancelled my plan and re set up my account multiple times. I use a 9700 now and previously had an unlocked storm that was unable to send or recieve MMS as well. I've tried swapping my SIM and my bold multiple times and no matter what, I receive the same errors. When I attempt to send an MMS (wether its just text, audio or pictures) I recieve the error message "failed to send message". When I recieve a MMS I recieve the message "go to viewmymessages.com to view this message" I can then pull the message up but its sorta a pain to constantly view my mms messages that way. Anyone got any ideas?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to get gmail working off & on for about a month now. I have had a gmail account for as far back as I can remember. I have set it up on my 9700 and received the "congrats" email from the bb service, but never receive emails.
Created a NEW gmail account, and have tested from my hotmail account (which IS receiving and sending fine on my BB). Still not receiving gmail on device. Called T-Mob, spoke to rep and BB supprt rep. I recieved 2 or 3 emails that night (couple of weeks ago). Nothing since.
Can:
Send an email to hotmail account and gmail accounts from my BB (using a gmail account to send) and I receive them on my computer. I recieve the hotmail email on my BB, but not the gmail. No matter what I do, I can't seem to receive gmail on my BB.
I have:
•Resent the Service Books from both the Handheld and my PC (A few times)
•Registered a few times through the Host Table and got the registrering email
•Checked to ensure no filters interfering on my provider setup and made sure that it is set to "forward to device"
•Deleted the Gmail Account and set it up again - same issue
•Set up a hotmail account, which works fine.
•Confirmed Gmail settings (on gmail site). POP is enabled (recent)as well as IMAP
•Checked Firewall settings
•Rebooted my Blackberry by pulling the battery after most of the events above
I'm an IT Support Specialist, but just can't seem to figure out what the problem is. I am new to BB and new to the community, and I feel like this is just beyond my periferal vision.

View 1 Replies View RelatedRandomly, my BB will start sending/recieving data (the rx/tx arrows constantly changing back and forth) and the entire phone will lock up. None of the buttons work, it wont respond to anything for about 2-4 mins. Then everything returns to normal. I notice it most in the facebook app or Viigo, mostly because thats when im scrolling a lot. Occasionally, the last button pressed will register after it wakes up from its coma, ie, if i press the back button when its frozen, and nothing after that, when it wakes up, it will *sometimes* register the button. I never get any messages or anything when its doing this.

When I attempt to send something, I get the check mark beside the message confirming it was sent, but they are not being delivered and I am no receiving messages.
Which settings do I need to check? I know it has the latest software. I updated it today.
If any contact is in my address book I cannot send out email or pin messages has a red clock. tmobile sent me new phone does samething. we did everything to basic to redo operating system. super frustrating never had an issue till i got my 9700.

-batt pull
-batt pull + remove sim card
-update FW .423>.442
-wiped and relode FW (.442)
-resend service book
-re-register host routing table
Then I look at manage connections>Services status and it says, Mobile Voice status: not available connection: not connected. put my sim card into another phone (nokia) it could make, reseive call and sms so it shouldn't be sim card problem. Other services are working fine, BBM, email and facebook.
I have gmail on my 9700 and everytime I send a email it doesnt show up as a sent emal. It doesnt show nothing. I could only see my recieved emails. Also, I noticed Im not recieving emails immediatley on my 9700. It takes atleast five minutes or more after the email has been sent to actually get it on my 9700. Is this normal? I just noticed it took about twenty minutes after an email was sent to recieve it on my 9700?

I've read many, many solutions found on the internet all day today to the point I am exhausted, so I have no other choice than to take some of your valuable time to assist me. I did the Options/Advanced/Service Book delete and restore CMIME trick and no change.
