View 7 RepliesI recently installed BlackBerry Protect on my phone. I think it's a great app, with tons of potential to be useful. The only thing I'm a little unsure about is that in order for it to work properly on my Bold 9900 I had to disable encryption. The question I have, which I hope someone out there can answer: is that a big deal/ is it a smart tradeoff? I don't know that much about encryption, but it sounds like something I would like to have (Can you ever have to much security in a handheld?)

I am getting this popup on my BB "uncaught expectation: a browser content provider for video/3gpp MIME Type has already been registered with the browser." I am unable to play any video online.
Error occurs : the returned page type had no content type, and therefore can not be processed.
please help me in sorting it as i have tried with the wipe too. It worked for few hours but later again the same issue.
can not read ringtones that reside on my SD.can't disable encryption? there is a padlock icon on next to the checkbox? phone is activated on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server?

Realized soon after that my local REI had it in stock and I had a xmas gift certificate. Went to REI and purchased it - (Canceled my order for the Garmin 910XT in the process) Went back to the site to try and cancel my order but the 'Cancel items or order' button on my order page wasnt' functional. No biggie, I'll call. After being passed around to the same 3 depts TWICE, I was finally told the ecommerce section was closed for the weekend. Once again, I understand that.I then call on Monday, they tell me the order hasn't yet shipped but I'm not allowed to cancel it at that point. Don't quite understand and getting a bit frustrated at this point but whatever, I'll deal. Customer rep tells me that they'll issue a return slip and email it to me.
OK, I'm good with that.Wednesday comes and still no email with return slip. I call, go through the same 3 depts again and get someone else who tells me that it takes a while to get the return slip but I'll have it within 24 hours.24 hours goes by, I call again and get hung up on 3 times in the process before I can ever get to anyone. Once I get someone on the line, they tell me that it should be to me within the next couple of days... A RETURN SLIP?Once I finally lost my temper a bit, they said it would be 'escalated' and that I should be receiving it within a few hours... we'll see. They also let me know that I could not return it without the receipt.Meanwhile, I've completely soured on the one that I purchased and I'm considering returning it as well and changing my order back to the Garmin. By the way, I called Garmin's support team just to compare... night and day!
I woke up this morning and had an "Enterprise Activation" icon on my screen. I didn't download it, so I have no idea how it got there (it was a rectangle or folder with a green arrow on it). When I clicked on it it went to a white screen and said "Encryption Regeneration" but didn't seem to do anything else. I looked for a delete option for the icon, but there was none on the list. I went to the Blackberry App World and couldn't find anything that suggested I had downloaded it, but when I browsed online I found an article that said you can download this whatever-it-is from Blackberry. I also had some upgrades that needed doing, so I upgraded Twitter, Yahoo, Google and MSN apps and rebooted. After reboot the new icon has disappeared. Could this have happened spontaneously for some reason? Or have I been hacked?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIt is annoying when you select a phone number from your history, contacts, or address book and the Bold auto dials the number. If you select the wrong number from the touch screen the phone auto dials the wrong selected number, and it is easy to do this on a touch screen.
I want to be able to launch the call from the phone call key so I can check the number before it is called. I want to be able to select a phone number and make sure I have the right one before the phone dials.
Just got the new Bold 9650. Should I have the firewall enabled, and the encryption enabled? What else should I do to make sure that my phone is secure?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am a T-mobile subscriber having serious problems with my 9900's voice function for both telephone calls as well as dictating emails and texts with VlingoPlus.The specific problem is that anyone I call or who calls me cannot hear me or they hear a garbled indistinct voice.I have experienced the same problem with two replacement 9900's which T-Mobile sent me (one in July 2012 and the second in September 2012)This problem first arose with the first replacement 9900 I received in July 2012 which replaced a 9900 which was experiencing intermittent ongoing failures of the blackberry internet service connection.The first replacement 9900 then began to have problems with the voice function shortly after I set it up.Although T-mobile's technical people attempted to assist me they failed in their efforts and they simply sent me a second replacement 9900 several days ago.I set up the second replacement 9900 on September 16, 2012 and the voice function failed the same day and has not worked since.I have done battery pulls but the problem persists.Today per T-Mobile's recommendation, I obtained a new SIMM card.There still is no voice function?

I can forward e-mails fine but if I hit reply, I get every option except "send". I actually had the same issue when I first got my phone but it has been so long ago that I cant remember how I fixed it. Can anyone assist?

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I switch on the camera application the track pad doesn't zoom anymore like it used to. The track pad on the screen shows only the + sign on top of the tracking pad but the - sign has disappeared, in the panel it shows zoom at 1.0x. I have pressed the accessory bottom and the function for zoom in and out have disappeared as well. The letter commands on the key board for zooming in and out don't work either. I would appreciate any assistance I can get.

View 7 Replies View RelatedEver since I updated the softward on my device (about a week ago) my lock function doesn't work. I have set all the same securities as before (Options/Password/Enable) however when I push the "Lock" button on the top of the device it only locks they keypad. If I push it again it simply unlocks the device, it does not prompt for a password. I have to wait for the device to reach it's security time out before there is a password prompt to unlock.

It's not something that you can even really see unless you move it back and forth under a light (and I'm not that vain) but it got me wondering about the possibility of deeper scratches possibly affecting the function of the track pad?? I have babied this thing for the last week, and still got a fine surface scratch, so more heavy usage could possibly result in deeper scratches down the road. Although a very fine surface scratch might not affect the function, could a deeper one affect it?? And if that happens, how easily can the track pad be changed out by a local technician (or yourself)?

View 5 Replies View RelatedA few weeks ago the click function of my trackball stopped working. I think it was because I had moisture and dirt on my hand when I picked it up to use it. I have been reluctant to take it apart since I don't have a backup BB and it is still 90% functional without this feature working. Today, I did 3 things. First, I took rubbing alcohol and a q-tip and soaked the trackball. Then I used a piece of a straw, threaded it down between the black piece around the trackball and the chrome bezel, gently pulled up on it and used as much compressed air as possible to blow out the area under the trackball. Then, while the battery was out I pushed on the trackball assembly from behind pretty hard. I repeated this procedure a few times, and it suddenly started working. It was intermittent at first, but is working normally now. For how long I don't know but thought I would share this for others that have the same issue.

Can't get email to my Bold 9650 now. Neither the old password nor the new one works, though the old one works with my Facebook account. Can't add another hotmail account or uninstall the existing account so I could start over. Yes, the email works everywhere else.

It is activated by my wireless service provider but does not show up under call management. I have seen te function option in Bold 9900 but do not see it in 9930.
