BB Bold 9700 :: Camera Zoom Function Has Disappeared
Jan 30, 2010When I switch on the camera application the track pad doesn't zoom anymore like it used to. The track pad on the screen shows only the + sign on top of the tracking pad but the - sign has disappeared, in the panel it shows zoom at 1.0x. I have pressed the accessory bottom and the function for zoom in and out have disappeared as well. The letter commands on the key board for zooming in and out don't work either. I would appreciate any assistance I can get.

Jun 25, 2010I have a Curve 8520 that's brand new. However, I notice when I zoom the camera and take a picture, the camera doesn't actually zoom in. All it does is resize the image so that it gets smaller the more it says the zoom number. For example, If I take a picture at 1x zoom, it will be 1024x768 pixels on my computer screen. However, if I zoom in 3x, it makes the picture much smaller (like 600x800) and more focused (and pixelated) on the center of the subject of the picture.
So that on the tiny Blackberry screen, the picture appears bigger when resized down a lot. When has digital zoom meant resizing the image to fool the user into thinking that it is zoomed only when viewing it on the blackberry screen? When I zoom in, it should keep the picture the same size! What a gip for a relatively high quality phone camera too.

(Torch 9800) Yes, it is turned on in the settings but can't operate when trying to take photos (with finger on screen nothing shows) - it works on viewing pictures taken ! Tried turning off zoom then saving and then resetting and saving but to no avail.

Jul 9, 2010I've only had my Blackberry Bold for about 2 months. The camera was being a little funny and won't zoom so I switched off my phone and took out the battery and replaced it to try and reboot the phone. Now it won't turn on!When the battery is in the Red LED light at the top right corner lights up then goes off when the Phone starts up showing the BLACKBERRY Logo on the screen with the Loading Bar underneath. The bar then shows that it is loading but almost immediately it crashes and switches off. It does this repeatedly though I've tried removing and replacing the battery several times.I'm sure it is not a problem with the battery as I had only charged it the previous night and even tried using another battery from my friends Blackberry just to double check but the phone continues to repeatedly turn on, crash, turn off.
