BB Bold :: Update Or Downgrade To Os 6.0 Bundle 2115?
Nov 20, 2012
I have update software bold 9780 to 6.0.0.863 and now I can't opened excel, words, ppt, how can I back to previous os 6.0 bundle 2115?or what can I do to opened excel, etc again?
I try to upgrade my device (9780) software from OS 6.0.0.285 bundle 863 to bundle 2115 (i guess) using blackberry desktop software and from web.. but it keep telling me the same notification "An error has occurred while downloading software for your device.
I already try to download the device software from the list of provider (in this case, I use indosat, cause im in indonesia) and the site is under maintenance huff...when i giving up on upgrading my os, i try to upgrade my bbm to bbm 6 version.. then, my device reboot.. and its gone.. there's no bbm icon.. in my application management, there's blackberry messenger still in version 5, but when i try once again) download the new one from the web, it said "Already installed"
I recently updated my Bold 9700 (on T-Mobile) to OS 6.0 via a manual download beacuse when ever i try updating with my desktop software or device software they get to module 394 of 501 and it stops downloading. now i have deleted all loader cache and history and tried again and got the same result. i am using a dongle to download the update on my laptop and wondered if that could cause a problem. i downloaded 6.0 manually off another website but i was bundle 1879 and still requires an update to bundle 2534.
Dear Gurus I have very big problem with my BB 9900 current version 7.0 Bundle 2395 (v7.0.0.579, Platform 5.0.0.735) UAE Du/Etisalat Carrier, i canot update to )S 7.1 there is no available update in desktop manager also downloaded firmware from carrier install manually used jl comander , crackutil, load tru aploader remove vendor all hidden files same issue. why there is no available 7.1update for my BB..
I get following error message whenever I try to update software of my device the application "help" cannot be loaded, because it requires following applications that are not available:net.rim.java.browser?
I just updated my 9900 to bundle 1672 from 14xx which came factory installed using the desktop manager. This resulted in the loss of ALL third party apps and some BB apps! Of course, as recommended I did a backup before the update and the desktop manager restored from the backup. Despite this, none of my apps followed.
Lost App World and the compass app. The compass app I can't find again. App World was an easy fix through BB's website. Once I got App World I could download all the apps I have bought from My World. However, some of them require registration (haven't heard back from these companies yet) and I lost all my entries and settings in these apps!
I lost all third party apps that came pre-installed that I haven't downloaded from App World, like Wikitude, Facebook, Google Talk, MSN, and so on.Has this happened to anyone else? Why did this happen? Shouldn't backups also back up all the apps? What went wrong??
After updating to 2647, I can't find the password keeper, doc , PDF and spread sheet in the applications folder. Those applications are really important to me and I don't know what is the problem, is it the new software doesn't have those applications or some kind of an error during the installation of the software.I really need those apps ,degrade to the previous version or reinstall the same version again. But I don't know how to do the both. step by step instruction from where to download the so and how to install it to the phone.
I recently updated my torch 9800. The Bb desktop successfully dowloaded all the modules. Bet when it automatically rebooted, it hangs halfway and received an error that the PC cannot communicate with the BB because of the obvious reason.
I had no choice but to disconnect the BB from the PC and remove the battery and back so it can boot properly.
It seems to be working properly with the previous software (not the 2475) I hope the download did not do anything to make it work improperly.
for sure blackberry tested this update before giving it to consumers but I am just wondering why this issue happened.
I just updated my bb to the newest bundle. However all my languages have changed, I have korean thai, and bahasa indonesia. The update deleted english, french, and spanish. How can I add them back into the language section?
My son received message this morning on his phone saying it needed updating, he started the update. It is only on 13% now, saying it is backing up his data. Has said this now for 11 hrs. We can't do anything with the phone, it wont go off this screen. We've tried taking battery out an restarting phone but when it comes back on the same screen comes on again.
I saw that there is an update to the software for my new Torch, and I tried updating the other day and did the same as a few other people I've seen on the forums, namely freezing after the phone reboots and the desktop software telling me that it can't connect to the phone.
1. Is it worth trying to make the update work? What has been changed and/or optimized between the 2 bundles?
2. Would anyone be able to give me some advice on updating the software (if it's worth it), so it doesn't end up freezing halfway through again.
Given that problems are routinely experienced doing any BlackBerry device or desktop manager updates, has anyone installed this update and if so, has it created problems? And if there are problems, what are they?
I have a message asking me to Install the Version 7.1.0 Bundle 1133 software update. Priority: Critical. 95.4MB. It says it will take 2 hours with no phone use. That's fine, so I've clicked it to do it's thing, and nothing really happens, apart from it "Verifying update..." and occasionally the little clock face pops up on top of it. Then my phone just goes dark and restarts. On restartating it displays the following message "Uncaught exception: no application instance".My mobile is not plugged into my laptop during this process.I have deleted applications like facebook and whatsapp from my phone to give it more MBs of space. Why won't it work?
I tried to update my BB torch 9860 using OTA from 7.1 bundle 1149 up to 7.1 bundle 2016. After update was successfully finished, I noticed that the screen on BB has changed. All icons became very small or missing. The phone is working, I can accept calls, but cannot dial because cannot access the dial pad. I've tried to downgrade to the previous version, and after successful downgrade, at least that what's was written, the problem persist. If I try to access some applications the screen shows: uncaught exception: Bitmap invalid (null). I cannot access Application management. The phone constantly get stuck on one screen for a long time....
Running version 6.0 Bundle 695 and tried to update to 6.0 Bundle 2342. Update hangs at "downloaded modules 429" and stops. Eventually, the update fails due to an internet connection failure and asks to retry. Tried using the desktop software to update and the BB website update. Both failed multiple times at the same point in the process.
I have a (relatively) new BB Bold 9790. I connected today via the Desktop manager and it asked me if I wanted to upgrade my software bundle (I am on OS 7). I clicked on "yes" and it went off and did the deed. I have to confess I did not do a manual backup as my previous experience has been that the DM does the backup for you and it's worked well.
So after the upgrade everything was back as it was (my icons in the same place, emails, pics etc) apart from all my SMS! They have all disappeared. I am receiving new ones fine but the old ones have all gone. I had quite a lot of useful information in the old SMS (yes I know I should have backed these up) ... is there any way these can be recovered? I cannot belive the DM did not back these up and restore them but if I go ito the DM and look for a backup there is no recent back ups so I can't find anything to restore from.
I downloaded bundle 2392 through the usual Updates roughly two weeks ago. Since then my BB Bold 9900 continuously stops receiving emails, texts and I cannot access the web. When trying to use the web, I get the message "a coomunications failure has occurred". I can turn the phone off, remove the battery, reinstall and turn on then I will receive all messages not already downloaded. But, after this process finishes, the problem starts all over a few minutes later - no more messages, no web access.
I recently updated to 7.0 bundle 2395 but the battery life seems worsen it droped like 40% in just 3 or 4 hours but it just in the standby mode and I did't use it at all so is there a problem with my battery?
I tried to use the email setup application and was informed an update was available. In the middle of the installation, it said it was cancelling. Now when I start the email setup, I get to the choice of internet email or enterprise account, and when I select internet email, nothing happens. I saw a suggestion to try a battery pull, but that did not work either.
After recently updating my Bold 9780 to OS 6.0 Bundle 2534 I'm getting the "My Services" screen at startup plus the phone is automatically trying to connect to a specific bluetooth device - both of which it never did before the upgrade.
I have had a notification on my BB 9900 (UK Vodafone) that version 7.1.0 bundle 1149 is available to download. When I try and download it on my BB it tried for a min or two then says "update request failed.. try again later or update using blackberry desktop manager on your computer."I then downloaded the latest version of "Blackberry Desktop Software" and clicked on "update" - it then reported "There are no blackberry device software updartes available."
I updated my 9900 with the new 7.1 bundle and now no maps and no password keeper. I cannot install them from the desktop manager because the applications section has now been updated to only show the apps i have downloaded! Not happy at all with this new update and would really appreciate a solution as i have numerous pieces of important info in the password keeper. P.S. i also tried restoring my device from a date before the update, but still no maps or password keeper
Its been a while since I purchased my Blackberry Bold 9780 (February to be precise). I was extremely happy with its functioning aand it never gave me any problems...until yesterday. I have a Apple Macbook on which I have loaded the Desktop Software to backup my data, transfer music, photos, etc.Yesterday as soon as I connected my device to my computer it notified me that there were updates for my device and if I would like to install them. I ticked on the necessary options to backup my data and initiated the update process. That was the last time I saw my device working fine. It took a while to update after which it finally showed up on my desktop software. The OS was now 6.0 build 2647. I safely disconnected my phone to check whether everything was ok. At first glance it was all good and that was until I went into the setup app on my device and clicked on email set-up. It just showed a small loader for a microsecond but didn't respond. To make matters worse, I couldn't exit the setup app and the device just hung up. After a hard reset, it did manage to enter the email setup app, showed me two options (Internet mail account, Enterprise account). clicking on any one of them bought me back to the same hang where the device just froze. Multiple hard resets later, took another route to find the problem. This time through my email message inbox---->options---->account management. This is where is showed me a message which read that it was unable to load my account settings and I ned to contact my wireless service provider. 2 hours on the phone with the tech supervisor from Orange and half hour of security wipe, left me back to square one. Issue not resolved yet, device takes ages to start and flashes a red light everytime before it boots....and most importantly can't setup any new mail nor can update the settings of the current ones.
I've upgraded my BB Bold 9900 software to 7.1.0 bundle 1310. Before that my battery lasted for 2 days with moderate use. Now it drains completely in 8 hours, whether the BB turned on or off! Maybe even how I can roll back the upgrade?
Rooting and flashing "might" void your warranty. I'm not responsible if anything happen to your phone (nothing should go wrong,, if something do go wrong, just repeat the whole process).
just uodated to 5.1.1 from 5.1 and my 3g / wifi keeps dropping. its weird as whats app and draw something work fine , just my brower and itunes dont connect some times , if i restart phone it works again for a while. it was fine on 5.1 and below just started on 5.1.1 , i dont want to JB just want my working phone back
I have a red star on the "Software updates" icon on my BB Torch screen. When I click on it, I get the information "Version 6.0 Bundle 2391. Perform Update". But when I go to update, I get the message "This update includes enhancements to your Blackberry Device Software. If you download it over the wirlesss network, charges may apply." hat is this update and do I need it and why are there charges?
