I've bought a Torch 9810, and when I connected it to my Desktop Sotware it suggested an update (software 7, bundle 2024).
After that, my battery runs out / drains. All apps are closed properly and wifi and bluetooth off.
My bb torch 2 (9810) stopped ringing after I upgraded to 7.0 Bundle 2406. What do I do to get it ringing again.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a BB Torch, which I bought new about a month ago. It works fine except that the battery has now started running out quickly (after about 16hrs from a full charge) , even when the phone is switched off overnight.
I have removed two new apps that I thought might be the problem (Add Contact and Data monitor app), but it has not really made any difference. I have since followed the advice on this Forum to dim the screen and reduce the timeout.

After update to ver 50 my 5800 battery runs down in a few hours, even if I make no calls, it also has become very unresponsive, hard to scroll, it was fine until update, I tried my spare new battery and it is exactly the same, no apps are running, wifi is off, and it gets hot occasionaly.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI upgraded my Torch (9800) a week ago, and have been noticiing battery drain issues. The problem is NOT persistent, but is happening most of the times though. I am currently on OS v6.0 bundle 3049 (v6.0.0.706, platforn 6.6.0.246). My Wifi and Bluetooth are always OFF. Only using the Bell network, for which I have all the 5 bars available.

I have investigated further, and I found that the Blackberry System Software was the one running with the highest CPU - usually in the high 70s, to even high 90s. And this was consistent over hours, until the battery was dead. I have since removed any apps I suspecpected - such as Nice Office and LinkedIn. But the problem still persists.
Battery pull has been done multiple times, as well as I have checked, and there are are no OS updates available.
Now, currently, only the basic apps are loaded (Alt-Back) : Home, Messages, BBM, Phone, Borwser. All other apps are closed or exited.
Investigating further into the modules within the BB System Software, I have found that the net_rim_io_impl, is the one consuming ALL of the CPU. I am not sure where/what this module does - so I am unclear on what service within the BB I can turn OFF to get rid of the issue.the CPU for the System drops a bit, as Options uses up some, else, it goes back to 90s, if left alone with either a fix to the module, or else, via some workaround, wherein some service can be stopped or some setting can be changed to avoid this battery drain.
I recently updated my torch 9800. The Bb desktop successfully dowloaded all the modules. Bet when it automatically rebooted, it hangs halfway and received an error that the PC cannot communicate with the BB because of the obvious reason.
I had no choice but to disconnect the BB from the PC and remove the battery and back so it can boot properly.
It seems to be working properly with the previous software (not the 2475) I hope the download did not do anything to make it work improperly.
for sure blackberry tested this update before giving it to consumers but I am just wondering why this issue happened.
I just updated my bb to the newest bundle. However all my languages have changed, I have korean thai, and bahasa indonesia. The update deleted english, french, and spanish. How can I add them back into the language section?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI saw that there is an update to the software for my new Torch, and I tried updating the other day and did the same as a few other people I've seen on the forums, namely freezing after the phone reboots and the desktop software telling me that it can't connect to the phone.
1. Is it worth trying to make the update work? What has been changed and/or optimized between the 2 bundles?
2. Would anyone be able to give me some advice on updating the software (if it's worth it), so it doesn't end up freezing halfway through again.
Given that problems are routinely experienced doing any BlackBerry device or desktop manager updates, has anyone installed this update and if so, has it created problems? And if there are problems, what are they?

After update was successfully finished, I noticed that the screen on BB has changed. All icons became very small or missing. The phone is working, I can accept calls, but cannot dial because cannot access the dial pad. I've tried to downgrade to the previous version, and after successful downgrade, at least that what's was written, the problem persist. If I try to access some applications the screen shows: uncaught exception: Bitmap invalid (null). I cannot access Application management. The phone constantly get stuck on one screen for a long time....

Eventually, the update fails due to an internet connection failure and asks to retry. Tried using the desktop software to update and the BB website update. Both failed multiple times at the same point in the process.

I thought I had a battery issue so I replaced the battery. The phone acts exactly the same. I turn everything off at 7pm in the evening with almost a full charge, when I turn it on at 5am the following the battery is discharged down to the 15% level.
