BB Bold 9700 :: Low Quality Picture When Viewed From Media / Pictures
May 31, 2010Just got my 9700 a few weeks ago. The screen is fantastic, the pictures & photos that I transferred to my SD card are shown on the screen with razor sharpness. At least for a while. Then I noticed that when I viewed the photos again from Media -> Pictures, the photos becomes less sharp and appear heavily compressed. This is for both the thumbnail view and the fullscreen sroll view. Does anyone noticed this?
But when I click on Fit to Screen or View Actual Size, the photos become razor sharp again. How do I get the photos to appear razor sharp in the fullscreen scroll view (where I can scroll left and right for next/previous photo)?
If there are no solution to the above, is there any 3rd party app that will allow us to view the photos in fullscreen (and can be scrolled left or right) in full razor sharpness?
BB Bold :: Cannot Find Media Files
Sep 30, 2012Recently I have been unable to view my media files although my memory (internal 8gb) isalmost full.Each time I take a picture or a video I am able to import it onto my PC but I am unable to view it on my phone.I have a 9900 and do not have a memory card. Numerous battery pulls have not resolved this issue.When I go to Media/Pictures or videos in both cases it shows that I have no pictures or videos.I cannot view them once I have taken them and of course I cannot delete them to make clear some space.

I can only view files that I saved through a computer. for example if I take a picture now, I won't be able to view it but the media icon just say: no pictures.

Jun 25, 2010My BB used to be able to play the .wav files that I received by email from my office phone system. I just ran the BB updates it wanted to and now when I attempt to play a .wav file, media player opens but then says - an error has occurred attempting to play media. The media being played is of an unsupported format.
I found posts saying I needed to install the BB attachment service but I can't get the option to show in Desktop Manager even following the instructions to download and run the OS on the PC.
BB Bold :: It Won't Connect Via Usb And Play Media Files
May 1, 2012I have problems charging my Bold 9900 via usb incar and it wont connect via usb and play media files. It will not charge at all and comes up with a message this device/charger is not supported or words to that effect, I've tried three different cars to no success,and different usb chargers including the blackberry one supplied to no avail. I have tried the wifes i phone in my car and that charges fine via usb and plays music... Any ideas ? ps the bold will charge via usb off my laptop or pc ???

Apr 18, 2010There are three sample movies sitting in the system folder (BMW M3, Speedracer trailer and a Delta Goodrem music video) which take up about 85MB of memory. I have tried using maxmem from Berrycoder to remove the files, but it won't delete these videos from the memory.Using FileScout, I try to delete the files and the response is "cannot delete the file, it is an OS5.0 read only system file". Is there any way of deleting these files on the Bold 9000? I have read up on Crackberry on optimising the memory and trying to use BBSAK (BB Swiss Army Knife) but have had zero success on getting rid of these files. Another question while I am asking. Would deleting these files make any difference to the available free memory as reported through the Status. I am hovering around 27MB and want to increase it without deleting the apps I have loaded into the Bold.

Jun 28, 2011I'm trying to add some ringtones to my Torch. They are there and I can see them in the file manager or when I sync to my Mac. But when I go to the ringtones folder, they are not listed. There is an option to select music for a ringtone, so I put the mp3 file in the music folder along with other music files, but none show up.
The same thing happens when I take pictures with the phone. If I look at the pictures folder, it says no pictures. But if I go through file manager to the media card, I can see the pictures.

Jul 8, 2012I updated the software on my phone a few weeks ago, which resulted in the phone turning itself off constantly. However, when I take a picture it looks as if its saved, but when I go to the media files a little later all I see is a picture icon not the actual picture.
When I use the video camera it seems to save and I have been able to view once or twice, but after a period of time the file turns into a music file with no video. This has resulted in several videos of my baby daughter being lost and being replace by the same music.
I have followed the advice on the forum by deleting .dat files from the folders. This has resulted in the pictures taken since the upgrade disappearing altogether. The only way I can keep a picture is by emailing it to myself instantly.

Jul 30, 2015If I take a picture, let the LG Camera app click (and sort of flash the screen), then immediately hit the Back button to exit the Camera app, the picture does not actually save.
I noticed this the other day, and just tried reproducing it. Take a picture, letting the camera click and actually take the picture. But before the Gallery thumbnail in the bottom-right corner of the Camera app has a chance to update, immediately hit the Back button to exit. Then go to the Gallery and see if the picture is there.
On my phone, it's as though I never took the picture at all. I have Verizon, on software 611A, and I am saving to the 32GB SD card from the LG promo.
I have lost at least 1 picture already from this. It would seem to me that if the camera clicks, then the picture should officially have been taken, and the app should definitely save it before exiting, even if it has to finish the process in the background.
If you take a picture on a normal digital camera, then immediately hit the power button, the camera will likely give a message like "Camera is busy", or something similar, preventing it from shutting down until it's finished.
