BES. 5.0.0.0.979 I added custom alert for messages works perfectly while phone is unlocked. If phone is locked I never get the custom alert.
I set my lock at 30 minutes but its a pain to unlock the phone all day.
I'm using the contact alerts to specify ringtones for the calls. however, i don't want to specify a rington for the messages; i just want to use teh profile default. is there anyway to do this? the problem is, if i don't select any ringtone, it sets one and uses it across txt messages & emails when i always have different ringtones for each.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Orange Blackberry 9700 which I have had unlocked. The phone is unlocked and reads the T-mobile SIM card, however I am having no luck at all with email and data facilities on the Blackberry.I have contacted T-Mobile and they have attemepted to send the service books to me however they are not reaching me. They have been through a whole host of procedures to try and get the problem sorted including doing a security wipe and also restoring the email accounts, I have tried to send the service books to myself through the BIS website as well.
It seems odd that I can not connect to the Blackberry Wireless Network because I my device pin is recognised on the T-Mobile website. I have tried to register the device using Host Routing Table but still no joy.If you have any clue as to why I can not access data services then I would really appreciate some help. I do have my data plan enabled, I know sometimes this can be a reason why people have this problem.

It is able to make and receive calls as well as receive all text messages. However, certain people do not receive my text messages, even when I reply directly to their message. Others do receive them. Is it because of their provider?

However, the custom alerts for "Contact Alerts > Messages" don't. I'm supposed to get a sound plus a vibration for certain contacts when in "Phone Only" profile. This doesn't happen.

My S2 is only about four or five months old and I recently started noticing that it is not alerting on text messages anymore. I checked the settings and the obvious stuff such as the volume being on and a ringtone for text notification is set. I just went to unlock my phone and I noticed that the phone did not play the click or pop noise as I hit the keys to unlock the phone. Again, the volume was on....maybe this is a larger issue...

View 1 Replies View Relatedi have a brand spanking new BlackBerry Curve 9360 that just arrived yesterday. It is great apart from this very frustrating small prob. I can not customise my message alerts for individual people in my address book. When I click on "try it" only the LED button flashes and there is no sound or vibration. I am trying to get the sound and vibrate to play as "active profile" but it just won't. I can override it and have custom volume and vibrate that plays no matter what the profile but as I sometimes like to set my main profile to vibrate or silent, it won't do.
So far, to fix it, I have tried: Wiping profile and sounds from the blackberry softwareFull factory resetCreating my own profile and using that instead of "normal" or any of the other preset onesLoads of battery pulls before and/or after any changesI have also had a few different people text me to make sure the problem isn't just the "try it" feature. It isn't. The sound that plays is always the default message sound for whatever the default profile is.
Recently I have updated the OS on my Bold 9700 (version 6.0 bundle 2718 - v6.0.0.615, platform 6.6.0.223).The problem is that the menu button does not work at all when I'm in the e-mail, text, or messages.Also, the emails would not open if I just click on them - I need to hold the trackpad button and then select "Open" in the square window that appears on top.The menu button behavious is the same in all other modes, e.g. camera, browser.

I just want the email notifications to be on vibrations when the profile is on active or loud or medium. I didn't have an issue with the Curve in doing this.What am I doing wrong?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI received my upgrade on Monday - a shiney new Blackberry Bold 9700. After setting it all up and getting the phone how i liked it, I started to notice problems........
My Blackberry messenger either didn't work or sent & received messages hours after they were actually sent.The internet was painfully slow if it loaded at all.
If I tried to make calls it would rarely work either taking forever to connect or when it did try to connect, I would hear a triple beep repeatedly as though there was a problem.When people tried to call me, they would go straight to my voicemail even though I was not on a call and had full signal.
My network provider immediately agreed to replace the handset and get me a new one out the next day and today I received the new handset. I've come home, tried to make a few calls on the handset before setting it up and all I am getting is an SOS symbol where the signal symbol should be and I am not able to make calls or do anything else.
I tried to restore the backed up file from my last handset and although it restored my numbers & text messages as well as my background image & alarms, it has not restored my programmes that I had installed and it has not restored my email and facebook settings. Am I doing something wrong or do I have another faulty handset?
My phone's messed the screen is white but iIcan still here the msg's, call's coming in it still rings and stuff but cant see anything?
View 1 Replies View RelatedFirst let me start by saying that I do know what I am doing I have a 3G which I have unlocked and take regularly with me to France when I come here for work and I just swap the ATT SIM with the SFR SIM and everything works.This time around I took a 3GS, that is from FR Orange that I have JB and unlocked and works with the ATT SIM in the US no problem. Except that when I got here in France this time around (without my 3 G ) I popped the SIM in and I get what you guys see in the screen shot, the network is found but the bars are horizontal so I get no reception at all. The SIM still works if I try it in another phone. I don't know if ATT still works on the phone since their signal is so spotty here and I just get no service with that SIM here -- I really don't see why it would have stopped working either.I have read every thread on what I think are similar issues but nothing works. I cannot redo the j/b unlock from here since the computer that I use to sync with is back home and I would be without all my music for the rest of the journey and my trip back home. Please let me know if someone has ideas.
