Bold :: Unlocked Blackberry Unable To Send Text Messages
Jul 2, 2012
I have a hand-me-down blackberry 9700 which I got unlocked because I live in china, and have a china mobile sim card is place. It is able to make and receive calls as well as receive all text messages. However, certain people do not receive my text messages, even when I reply directly to their message. Others do receive them. Is it because of their provider?
Just recently I have had some problems sending normal text messages..The problem is when I want to send a text I go to my contacts and try to send a sms message, but instead of opening up a conversation window I get taken straight to my recieved messages... I havent had a problem replying to messages after people have texted me, its iniating the converstation thats not working.
So I just recently upgraded from the curve 8310 to the new bold 9700 on att literally two days ago and i love it! But one problem i'am having trouble with sending and receiving text messages. I have called att customer care numerous times and powered cycled my phone as many times as I can count but still nothing, I have also checked to see if the "service center" number is correct and it is, I still have no clue what it could be. When i send an sms text message and scroll up to the message it says "sent" and the date and time but i ask the recipient if he/she has received the text but still nothing.
I'm having two issues with texting on my Blackberry Bold 9700.
1-I can't send or receive texts from certain contacts (right now it only seems to be from my boyfriend, we're both on At&t).
2-My text threads lock-up. A new text comes in, but I can't actually open the message. I can open all the previous messages, but any message at the top won't open.
I was just wondering. Can i receive/send txt messages with my mobile network OFF? How can I set it up? Cause now I'm having it on all the time and it eats my battery pretty bad.. have to charge it every 12 hours, really annoying.
I can send text messages but can't receive any text messages (sms). Ideed, i have a message like that : "message memory full" i delete a lot of messages, i don't have any video or pictures, my memory is not full, so i don't understand why it's like that. I have this probleme for 4 days ant it becomes very annoying. delete any message cause i delete three-quarters of messages..
my bb has started acting weird, sometimes( not always) when screen unlocked it automatically selects apps, writes messages, deletes messages, send messages etc. its like someone is logged in remotley and doing this, what is this and how can i stop it?
My E72-1 just developed this annoying and hard-to-fix problem: It can't send SMS messages anymore. I hadn't noticed it at first, was wondering why the persons I sent messages didn't replied when I responded to their messages. Then happened to check my phones Outbox, and 6 text messages are stuck in there for several hours already. Just to test the phone further (to check if it might be a SIM card problem), I put this SIM card on another phone, and I was able to send messages on that phone. I also placed another SIM card on the E72 and tested sending a message -- the message sending gets stuck at the Outbox and never sends. Receiving SMS messages appears to work fine. Also, calling out (voice calls) and receiving calls work. other notes: in settings: "Phone Memory" (instead of memory card) is used for text messages, configured to have up to 999 messages. Currently, have around 600 SMS messages in the Inbox and maybe 150 text messages in the Sent folder. Let's says that's only around 800 messages (not yet 999 messages). What I tried: I changed the setting from "phone memory" to "memory card", but still unable to send messages. (I reverted it back to phone memory since that's where my messages are residing.) I did a soft reset *#7780# which reset the E72's settings. Tried again to send SMS message -- it still fails. I decided to do a hard reset, so I did a full backup using Ovi Suite first. Then I did the hard reset *#7370# -- and it did solve the problem (able to send messages again), unfortunately, I would need to reinstall all the applications, contacts and restore the messages I saved. I tried restoring the backup (it was pretty big at 2.3Gb), but it's taking a very very long time (nearly an hour) and it seems to fail near the end of the restoration. The backing up of the phone took awhile (maybe 20 minutes or so) since it backedup probably the whole memory card too. (I should probably have deleted a few unneeded big files from the memory card before I did the backup since it appears that Ovi Suite is also backing up those big files).Right now, I'm doing the restoration a second time (a few hours since I first tried that and it sort of failed). During the restoration which ended with failure, it seems that when I tried sending SMS messages, it fails again. (ie. if I restore the backup, the problem is also restored) -- I'll check this again later if this is indeed the case. I still had around 130Mb free space left in the C: phone memory and the 4Gb microSDHD memory card had around 900Mb free space when I started the backing up in the first place. (mentioning these in case these might be related to the problem.)any idea what's causing the unable to send SMS message problem? another thing: does restoring backups really take an extremely long time? (I haven't tried the restoration function before, though I did a backup maybe 2 months ago) Does the phone get in a sort of "stuck" or "hanging" mode during the latter part of the restoration procedure?
I cant send text messages - although I can receive them - can someone please help me in setting this up in my phone.it has to be in the settings somewhere.
I just recently got my Xperia Ray phone and i love it, however, I'm recieving messages perfectly fine but everytime I try to respond to the messages it just says that the message could not be sent
I just got my iphone4S a couple of days ago. I am able to use iMessage to an iPhone user on my same carrier but not another carrier. I am not able to send any SMS text messages even though it is switched on in the settings list.
I replaced 3 iphone 3g's with 3 new iphone 4's on my family plan. 2 of them are working just fine. The other one is unable to send or receive texts or mms. Anyone else having this problem? Or anyone that can suggest how to fix this? I wonder if I might have misstyped in the ime or SSID info on the at&t page incorrectly on that one unit. This is a non jail broken phone. Just a regular 3g.
I have been trying to text and receive texts from a friend in Norway. I know that we can both receive and send international texts because we text a mutual friend in Australia. I checked the participating carriers in Norway. His carrier, Netcom, is on that list. Now I have a Blackberry Storm 9530 and he has a Nokia. I'm not sure of the model.

I have a strange issue,if my phone hasn't sent or received a text for a few hours I am unable to send or receive text messages, turning on and then off aeroplane mode fixes it instantly. Its like my phone has "forgot" my network.
I just bought a 6700 but I can't send text messages. When I send something, it sends as normal but the receiver does not receive. I can receive texts as normal though.
I recently purchased a nokia E7. When I first got it it was fine and would send messages to people however now after the 2nd day owning it, it is refusing to send messages to anyone. This is reguardless of network, though I am on the telstra network.
I am unable to send or receive multimedia text messages but I am able to connect to all my social medias just fine. I have plenty of data left and I am disconnected from my at home wifi.I've tried rebooting it and trying to send a multimedia message while connected to wifi and nothing has worked.
I have caller ID blocking on my cell phone number, because, I do not want everyone I call to see my number. I have always had it set up that way. Numbers in my contact list, however, have *82 programed in front of the number so friends, etc. will know it is me calling. This works fine when I call a contact, but, when I try to text the same number, I get the error "The message must contain valid recipients and content" and am unable to send the text. If I manually enter the same number without the *82, I can send the text, but, nobody knows who it is from, because, my umber will not be revealed. This never happened on my original Droid (running 2.2.1). This is a real pain in the ..
I'm a newbie to the blackberry and I'm having troubles reading my text messages. When I click on the message icon, to check my text messages it says *no messages*. I've tried the message icon>menu>view folder>SMS inbox method buts its just such a hassle. Is there any way to make it more convenient?
Since I got the Motorola Droid Turbo I have not been able to send out mass text. my last droid phone I could click on people which then opened my contact list, there was boxes next to each contact for me to check multiple people. On the Droid Turbo, when I need to send out a text with multiple people there is no way I see to get to my contacts and click on multiple people. I send out a mass text every week and need to get this quirk fixed. I have also tried a few texting apps. but when I send out the mass text a message box pops up that says "SMS is sending a large amount of... do you want to allow? I click allow, but the box will continue to pop up over and over, but does not actually send out all of the texts. I only send 20 text at a time, so I'm not sure why it is not working as far as the texting app goes. Mostly I would like to be able to use the regular texting app that comes with the phone again.
