For unchecked new text messages, does the N97 Mini not beep continuously, and only flash that faint white light at the bottom? Just wondering if there's somethign wrong with my phone, or if this is normal.

I'm having problems with my N97 Mini when it comes to receiving new text messages. The problem has only surfaced recently. The messages will appear (eventually in some cases - Orange for you) in my inbox. However I get no alert tone, the little envelope doesn't appear in the corner of the screen and neither does it say '1 new message' when I unlock the phone.

I checked the settings and the obvious stuff such as the volume being on and a ringtone for text notification is set. I just went to unlock my phone and I noticed that the phone did not play the click or pop noise as I hit the keys to unlock the phone. Again, the volume was on....maybe this is a larger issue...

I have tried the usual "take the battery out and restart" but it still won't work! Also, it has stopped telling me when I have voicemail, but the little sign that I have voicemal never goes.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis morning, I clicked on Bluetooth widget by mistake which rebooted the phone. Since then it was continuously on boot loop and keeps on rebooting itself after the XPERIA logo.It got turned on once in afternoon after which i did a factory reset and it was working fine. In eve I tried to turn the Bluetooth on and it is around 4-5 hours my phone is still rebooting continuously.It is Android 4.0.4 and never rooted, minimum apps, all are from PlayStore only.

The invitations seem to be from different people every time. It is extremely annoying. I have tried to log off or close the program, but I cannot seem to do either (I can show my status as Occupied, but I cannot believe that this would make a difference). I will remove it from my phone if that is necessary - but I am not sure how to.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy SII appears to have some kind of virus - I am getting a continuous loop of Force Close messages. Kies will not connect to the phone, it is running to the most up to date version. My phone is currently on Android Version 2.3.3 and on Gingerbread.because it cannot connect to Kies, I cannot run a back up. All my photos and videos are on the phone. I have a 3 month old baby and am desperate to save these. As I cannot back up I am reluctant to perform a factory reset as I am conscious I will lose all the data stored.It randomly turns itself on and off. The error messages come thick and fast - I don't even need to 'force Close' they pop up on their own and a constant stream of them will occur. Examples of the error messages are as follows:

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was having problems with my x10 mini pro over the weekend when sending texts, it was being really slow and kept saying there was a problem with the messaging application and asked me if i wanted to "force a close" or "wait". I chose wait everytime and everything seemed ok, except for being really really slow. Today I got the same message when sending a text, but it didnt give me the option to "wait" and I had to press "force close". Well, it then showed me as having NO text messages in my history....I have lost them all. I went in the Vodofone shop and he said they are gone for good....does anyone know anyway I can get them back? Some of them are really special to me and I hate the thought of losing them all like that with no warning

View 1 Replies View RelatedSince a few weeks now, i don't receive all text messages that are sent to my phone by contacts anymore.I can't pin an exact number how much messages are 'gone missing', but for example, yesterday i was texting the whole day with a friend,and of the on average 25 messages she sent, 3 never reached my phone. Also, sometimes when i get a message the text stops in midway and it ends with a piece of text from another message, that i received weeks ago. However, this problem has dimished over the past weeks. By the way, i have to add, i'm thinking of doing a factory reset, but for that i need to save all my contacts. i tried exporting all my contacts to my sim (using the import/export function in contacts),but when i used my sim on an older phone, only half of my contacts were transferred.I have to add that i got a notification that the sim was full, so some data wasn't transferred.

2. I want to disable predictive text as I don't like the I-Phone algorhthym for this -- it causes me endless grief. Which model allows for this?

Everything else has restored fine, and I've tried restoring with just the text messages box checked. This takes hours and hours and usually comes up with an error partway through, or it just doesn't complete. I have a lot of texts that I'd rather not lose.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've recently started getting a problem where my text message program freezes if my phone turns off the screen (i.e. me being inactive for a while). When I get back again it says I can either wait for it to respond or terminate the process. If I wait it unfreezes, but it is still very irritating that it happens every time.
And who's incredibly stupid idea was it to make long SMS messages into MMS-messages? I have problems with my messages not being sent properly, or being sent only partially, all the time. Is there any way to change back so it just adds more text messages instead of converting into MMS?
I use the standard text messaging program that came with my X10 mini pro, and I'd rather not switch since I found it quite good until after recent updates when I got these problems.
