I have a BB Bold, I have a message icon that will not clear. I've gone through all my emails and haven't been able to clear it, also took the battery out for a little while without any change in the status of the message.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe unread message indicator for a mailbox does not always clear after reading all new messages in the inbox. I have multiple inboxes, sometime after reading or opening all messages; or "mark all messages open" the red asterisk is still displayed with the the mailbox icon. The unread message count is 0, i.e.. Not displayed. The only way I can clear the red asterisk is to change inbox settings and save. I usually de-select and re-select an option so i get he save changes dialog. This does not always happen but happens enough to be aggravating since i have 5 mailboxes and use the indicator to determine which one i need to open for new messages. I recently upgrades from a 9650 which did NOT have this behavior.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI don't believe this will be possible but I figured I'd ask. At one time someone found a way to create a truly black icon by using a web site link. You would simply point your browser to this site and save the link to your desktop. You could do this as often as you wished, creating as many "blank" icons as you wished. This allowed you to "arrange" icons on each page in what ever configuration you wanted.
Now that you can set a background image having a "clear" link icon would be useful but I just don't see how it's possible.And no, I don't want to jailbreak to get this feature. I can deal with it if it's not possible.
I have an icon in the area that alerts you to when you have a text msg, email, etc.. It looks like a WiFi symbol, yellow in color, with the #1 at its left. I cannot clear it and nowhere in BB's literature can I find what this icon means..
View 5 Replies View RelatedWas transfering photo from old phone to HTC Desire HD via Bluetooth and lost connection. I now have permanent bluetooth notification icon in notification bar say "null" wants to transfer file no bytes. Accept or decline. Selecting either does nothing. I assume the HTC no longer knows where "null" device is. Is there anyway to clear this notification without a factory reset.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI"ve had my bold 9700 for one month. The first 3 weeks were fine, all of a sudden, I keep getting the message icons at the top of the screen, but there are NO messages. I've deleted all messages, texts, phone calls etc., icon is still there. AT&T, nor the blackberry store seems to have a solution. I don't want to have to pull my battery every time this happens (multiple times per day).

View 14 Replies View RelatedRandomly, my bold restarted by itself (hasn't done this once since I upgraded the OS 3 months ago). Ever since it restarted, it's had the unread message icon saying I have 4 unread messages. I went to every folder and marked all prior unopened and checked to makesure nothing was unread. The icon wouldn't go away, it even stayed with the read star. Overnight, I got 6 new emails, so it told me I had 10 unread messages. I deleted the 6 new ones, and the icon is still there with the read star saying I have 10 unread now
Any ideas? I pulled the battery already twice and nothing
So obviously my text message icon is gone, i tried "show all" and going into message options and changed email/sms to seperate. But it hasent done anything! Ive changed my themese changed between theme controlled and seperate, and still nothing, i did show all atleast 10 times and it still hasent shown up.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy email (and messages) icon wont clear. It says I have 19 unread messages and the only thing in my email are 2 unread messages.I have done the following:
Deleting everything in my message folder
Turning the phone off
Taking the battery out
Sending additional email to see if that re-sets it before taking the battery out
I only go on facebook every now and then on my phone and I have before and got the notification and was able to delete them. Tonight when I clicked on the 10fb icon, nothing shows...?

View 8 Replies View Relatedplease help i have a bold 9700 and have the latest blackberry messenger on the phone. one day i turned it on and the icon at the top of the screen showed i had a new message. after looking everywhere there is no message to be found. after numerous battery pulls and resets the icon is still there. i even brought to ATT today and there reps couldn't help me.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have an errant "unopened" mail icon, It was on my old BlackBerry (an 8830) and when I got my new BlackBerry 9650, all was good, until I completed my enterprise synchronization, and guess what came back? now heres the rub, it shows (and as it did before) That it is a "Optimum on Line" email, not the email that is pushed by my enterprise server. So neither tech support will own the problem.

For a while now I can only view text messages from the "message" icon on my phone. I used to be able to view 2 different email accounts. The only way I can see my emails now is from the little window just below where the time is displayed.
The New Message icon stays up on my homescreen even after I have deleted all of my messages. Its very annoying because I know there isn't a new message and its an error. how to get rid of this icon?

However, I need to figure out how could I transfer all my data.The blackberry desk manager never did work on my old phone witch. After plugging in the new phone on my PC it asked if I wanted to transfer my data... So I did.I realized that when I was receiving text messages they were looking more like email icons. It also remains on the Message folder.I was told to remove the battery when the phone is "On" and re-insert it. The icon does disappear only to return when new messages arrive. Is there a permanent solution for this problem? This must be a software problem but no new software updates are available from RIM
