My bold 9000 will not start up.When I insert the battery the red led start up with the normal boot indicator then it stays on with a empty battery sign with a red cross over it.The boot inicator boots up till a certain point and stays there with nothing happening further? I can not connect to the desktop manager either?
View 9 RepliesSo, I dropped my phone from a kitchen stool on to a rug.. Went to reboot it and got a blackscreen with a white battery and a red X going through it. Now, I was told it was my battery after much goolging.. I have 3 batteries at my disposale, all working at various strengths. None are changing the issue.So, Ive plugged it into my DM and it gives me 3 OS's to choose from when repairing. Ive chosen all three, with and without different batteries and no progress has been made.What can I do next? Surely my phone isnt broken from its softest fall yet?

Last night, I went to charge my BB after the battery had drained to find on the screen a drained battery icon with a red cross/line through it. I had reloaded the set up on my phone and it still does not work and it seems that the white loading bar under the icon still loads after it has appeared and stops at around 75%.Will a new battery fix this?As I have said, I have reloaded and wiped everything on my phone and I have also tried the 'take out the battery while it's charged, put it back in method', nothing happened.

After some fiddling I see the red light on the device when I plug-in my charger and see the lightning symbol for a few seconds before it gives way to an empty battery with a red cross. Nor did taking the battery out and putting it back in again. I was on it one day on bbm and it died so when I got home I charged it up then went to turn it on but after 2 seconds of the rebooting screen a battery with a red cross appeared giving me the indication my battery was low I let the rebooting process continue but at about three quarters of the way through it froze, so I pulled the battery out after leaving it too freeze for over an hour and carried on doing that. It didn't work a few weeks later I tried it again it worked but then today it ran out of charge and when I tried to turn it on it does the same thing even know I have 100% charge as my other blackberry (which can only use facebook for some reason) said I had 100% in the status option screen.

Plugged my phone in and went to sleep woke up the next morning to a white screen, restarted (pulled battey) and the home screen won't come back. Nothing happens when I turn phone on, just get black screen. When I plug phone in to charge red light comes on as usual then black screen with charging battery (white battery with yellow lighting bolt) then with in 5 minutes screen changes to white battery with red "X" through it. I've tried leaving it plugged in for days to see if it was a problem with the charge. I've tried a new battery, I've tried putting tin foil between battery and phone.

View 5 Replies View RelatedToday I attempted to upgrade to the new 5.0 OS via Desktop Manager. The backup was completed and software installed. The process stalled on the reboot portion. My phone turned on, and I saw the blackberry screen with the loading bar below. The loading bar filled up and then my usual AT&T World Phone orange screen came up (which usually lasts for about 5 seconds before the home screen comes up). However, the orange screen lasted over an hour. Since the software was already installed I did a battery pull. The phone started up to the same AT&T screen and stops. The backlight still dims as usual, and comes back up on a button push but its stuck there with no home screen, now for another 3 hrs. It won't allow me to try to wipe or reinstall the OS because the phone has to be started to do so, and it says it can't connect to the phone (but it does recognize my device when its plugged into the computer). I have searched the forums for similar problems but haven't found any others with my problem.

It's just a black screen with the bb logo on it. Tried to downgrade the OP, but still the same thing happens.
