BB Torch :: Cannot Turn On 9860 / Screen A Battery With A Red Cross?
Jan 7, 2012
I just got my new torch 9860 and cannot turn it on - I have on the screen a battery with a red cross ! does that mean that the battery is out of service ?it seems that it doesn't reload / charge the battery !?
hi my blackberry torch won't start up. i downloaded the new blackberry messenger after installing the latest update. It asked me for a reboot and then all of a sudden my blackberry won't start up. If i run it in safe mode i see battery charging for about 10 seconds and then battery with a red cross in the middle all over again.
I can't turn my phone on.For the last week, every time I plugged the charger in, the screen would go white, and then a battery with a red cross through would show up.If I removed and replaced the battery several times then eventually it would reboot, I took to a phone shop yesterday and they unscrewed the phone and re-screwed it together again, and the battery sign didn't appear again and appeared to be working fine again. However, last night I attempted to charge the phone again, and the battery sign appeared again and now will not go off. The phone is completely useless. I've tried a new battery, with no luck. What should I do?
My month-old Blackberry Curve 9300 won't turn on. I plugged it in - to the wall - to charge earlier today and at that point it seemed fine - when I went back to check it, though, the screen was blank with a red light. I've tried turning it on, but the loading screen comes up, loads a tiny part of the way, and then a blank white screen appears, then I get an icon of a battery with a red cross through it.
My blackberry torch got discharged yesterday and it wont just re-charge. I kept it overnight to charge but no joy, tried a different charger but no juice . After some fiddling I see the red light on the device when I plug-in my charger and see the lightning symbol for a few seconds before it gives way to an empty battery with a red cross. I have tried this procedure various times but no joy.
I have a blackberry 9300 curve. I checked my phone for the time 2 hours ago and realized that it was off. I tried turning it on by the button but that didn't work. Nor did taking the battery out and putting it back in again. I then tried to plug it int the mains and a red light flashed on it for 15 or so seconds and a empty battery sign with a red cross came on screen. I have left it to charge but I still cant turn it on. What can I do?
I've had my BB Curve for about a year and a half now. Last night, I went to charge my BB after the battery had drained to find on the screen a drained battery icon with a red cross/line through it. I had reloaded the set up on my phone and it still does not work and it seems that the white loading bar under the icon still loads after it has appeared and stops at around 75%.Will a new battery fix this?As I have said, I have reloaded and wiped everything on my phone and I have also tried the 'take out the battery while it's charged, put it back in method', nothing happened.
So a few weeks ago my blackberry stopped working. I was on it one day on bbm and it died so when I got home I charged it up then went to turn it on but after 2 seconds of the rebooting screen a battery with a red cross appeared giving me the indication my battery was low I let the rebooting process continue but at about three quarters of the way through it froze, so I pulled the battery out after leaving it too freeze for over an hour and carried on doing that. It didn't work a few weeks later I tried it again it worked but then today it ran out of charge and when I tried to turn it on it does the same thing even know I have 100% charge as my other blackberry (which can only use facebook for some reason) said I had 100% in the status option screen.
When my 9860 torch is locked, the hanging off button is the only one which keep running. So if you press it for few seconds the phone wil will be stopped? How can i do to lock it ?
A few days ago i updated my phone and today it wouldnt get any signal so i turned the phone off and on, still no signal, so i turned it off and on again and still nothing. So i took out the battery and restarted the phone, i did this 3 times and now it wont turn on at all. When i plug the charger in, the phone wont charge.I dont know if the battery has gone all together so ive ordered a new one.
how can I turn my BB 9860 completely off? Whenever I press the Power off button from the menu or the hard key, the screen goes off however the phone does not switch off, it just disconnects me from wireless networks and the phone freezes mostly. The only way I am able to turn the phone off completely is by removing the battery. I have tried holding the power off key for a long time but that is of know help.
Last night i switched my BB Torch 9860 off and this morning when i woke up to turn it back on it wont switch on and the red light keeps coming on and off and it wont do anything. can anyone help me with what to do.As i purchased the phone in october last year on ebay i have been told my optus they can not send it away with a proof of purchase or warrenty i purchased the phone brand new. Im really desperate to have this fixed
I have a 9860 and would like to know how to turn off dial pad tones: when I key a phone number I hear a tone after keying each number. It is very annoying when I weak headset.
The option Turn on/off key tones (in Typing and Input > Keyboard ; Select the Key Tone checkbox) works only for the alphanumeric key board, but not for the numeric phone dial pad.
How long is the battery expected to survive for 9860s? I bought this 9860 on Feb 11. Before using charged the phone completely by 11pm - The battery almost drained completely (red) by 8PM on Feb 12. This morning 13th Feb - I completely charged the phone - and 80% has already drained out by 3:15 pm - From the last full charge I have had phone calls totally lasting less than 20 minutes, WIFI is off, notifiers are off except email, and 5 small emails
I bought a new Bb torch 9860 the day before. It was working perfectly fine until this evening. It has now stopped turning off completely which it was doing very well before. Now it goes into a standby - like mode and quickly turns on when the red button is pressed. Earlier it used to take time in loading (I know it's a time saver but what if I want to switch off my phone completely to give it some rest). I am unable to switch it off completely other than by the method of removing it's battery. Also, it had stopped showing recent updates in bbm and was suddenly not playing any media file before this thing happened. These two have now been resolved but the turn off thing still wont work.
My blackberry torch 9860 works but the screen is black. ive done a battery pull and have had it out for about half an hour at the most and put it back in...as soon as i put it back in a tiny hourglass shows on the screen then goes away and the scren stays black....how do i fix this!!
I dont know if i'm the only one or the first one but here goes.Model: Torch 9860Operating system: OS 7.0 bundle 1465Pin <Personal Content Removed> My screen just stopped rotatin. it was doing it in the morning but in the afternoon it stopped rotatin.I've tried everything.I tried a soft reset a hard resetI even reinstalled OS 7 but i've read a post the foundedsolution was to go back to OS 6. something. But having a newly purchased telephone not dropped once i find it very silly to downgrade my Operating system.
I tried updating blackberry msg, twitter and blackberry protect through app world, it asked for a reset after the installation, the phone got stuck on the boot screen, did battery pull a couple of times and still it was getting stuck at that exact point, finally reloaded the OS and it still didnt bulge, tried a couple of other OS downgrades and it's still stuck on the boot screen at that exact point
i only changing my charging port and it showed dis problem....i have done everytin that needs to be done on the software section---security wipe, memory wipe, downgrade and upgrade OS,deleted apps---none worked....I think its more of a hardware problem than a software problem.
my blackberry all of a sudden went blank and wouldnt turn back on, so i plugged it in to charge and have a red light for about 10 seconds then it goes off and I get a battery symbol with a red cross through it.
Since around 2 weeks I have a Torch 9860. Yesterday evening, when I was not using the device the Torch suddenly stopped functioning. When I turned it on again it said it was setting up but it didn't do anything. So after a few minutes I turned it off and on again but now it didn't react at all (so screen stays black, no button lightens up etc.). I can't get it turned on again, not even when I removed the battery for a few minutes. I also tried to charge it again as I wanted to be sure the battery was charged but this doesn't work either.
i have been using my blackberry for the past five months when it suddenly went blank on me the phone just blanked off and the red light started blinking then the load screen with the hourglass and the load bar would come up but the bar wouldn't load and it would blank off again...i was told by the store that i bought it from that the software had crashed and that it would need to be reinstalled... long story short the software can't be reinstalled for whatever reason and i now have a very expensive paperweight
My bold 9000 will not start up.When I insert the battery the red led start up with the normal boot indicator then it stays on with a empty battery sign with a red cross over it.The boot inicator boots up till a certain point and stays there with nothing happening further? I can not connect to the desktop manager either?
So, I dropped my phone from a kitchen stool on to a rug.. Went to reboot it and got a blackscreen with a white battery and a red X going through it. Now, I was told it was my battery after much goolging.. I have 3 batteries at my disposale, all working at various strengths. None are changing the issue. So, Ive plugged it into my DM and it gives me 3 OS's to choose from when repairing. Ive chosen all three, with and without different batteries and no progress has been made. What can I do next? Surely my phone isnt broken from its softest fall yet?
