I have a 9860 and would like to know how to turn off dial pad tones: when I key a phone number I hear a tone after keying each number. It is very annoying when I weak headset.
The option Turn on/off key tones (in Typing and Input > Keyboard ; Select the Key Tone checkbox) works only for the alphanumeric key board, but not for the numeric phone dial pad.
Is there any way I can turn off the dial tones for when I am dialing a phone #? Sounds are off for my keypad otherwise (txt, browser, etc). I don't like my keys beeping at me! Especially the beepboopblurrp when I hold 1 to dial my voicemail. Can this be turned off?

You cant keep your headset on or earpiece in without hurting or even damaging your ears. It is extremely annoying to have to take out your earpiece every time you dial someone. Setting the profile to vibrate or silent is no option of course because then you don't hear the phone ring.How do I set the dial tone to silent or much lower volume without reducing the phone ring volume on a BB Bold 9900?

View 7 Replies View RelatedA few days ago i updated my phone and today it wouldnt get any signal so i turned the phone off and on, still no signal, so i turned it off and on again and still nothing. So i took out the battery and restarted the phone, i did this 3 times and now it wont turn on at all.When i plug the charger in, the phone wont charge.I dont know if the battery has gone all together so ive ordered a new one.

Whenever I press the Power off button from the menu or the hard key, the screen goes off however the phone does not switch off, it just disconnects me from wireless networks and the phone freezes mostly. The only way I am able to turn the phone off completely is by removing the battery. I have tried holding the power off key for a long time but that is of know help.

It was not dropped! I was using it (on a call) no problem, pressed the sleep button to turn off screen so the battery doesn't run down fast and went to text and nothing, no screen.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI bought a new Bb torch 9860 the day before. It was working perfectly fine until this evening. It has now stopped turning off completely which it was doing very well before. Now it goes into a standby - like mode and quickly turns on when the red button is pressed. Earlier it used to take time in loading (I know it's a time saver but what if I want to switch off my phone completely to give it some rest). I am unable to switch it off completely other than by the method of removing it's battery. Also, it had stopped showing recent updates in bbm and was suddenly not playing any media file before this thing happened. These two have now been resolved but the turn off thing still wont work.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI swore I could hear them when I first got this phone back in early November. I just noticed as I was keying in a phone number, the touch tone is barely audible. Like I held my ear to the rear speaker, and the sound is very faint. I have Sounds:Dial pad touch-tones checked. While the dial pad is open, I turned the volume rocker on the side of the phone all the way up. All that did was turn up the in call volume, did nothing for the touch-tone volume. I have tried turning up all the volume sliders to see if it had any effect. No, that didn't work. I also tried the hard re-boot (power and volume down buttons), and still no luck.
