May 11, 2012i bought the bold 9700 today. As i succesfully connect to my wifi and type in an adress, i get this error "Unable to find the requested server"P.S: i have no data plan yet.

Jun 8, 2011I updated my Bold 9700 to OS 6.0 bundle 2475 . I'm using my phone connected to a wifi router that worked fine before update but now is unable to communicate.
The connection is ok (I can select my network in the list and the phone is connected) but the "Blackberry" icon doesn't appear on the main screen near the wifi icon and it's impossible to connect the phone to Internet or email.
Using 3G connection all work fine but I'm abroad and normally I use this wifi network on my apartment that works fine (I'm also using an iPhone that works great, it means that the network is ok).

I did remove the WIFI info and forget it, then reconnect... that doesn't work. The only thing that fixes it, is if I restart my phone.

May 10, 2012Just switched from a bold 9700 to bold 9900. Our mobile signal is extremely limited since we're out in the country so wifi is essential here.On my 9700, wifi worked perfectly with all applications but that doesn't appear to be the case with the bold 9900. Several apps are extremely slow or don't work at all. I think the reason for this is the 9900 isn't using wifi for some apps. I believe some apps are using wifi such as the browser and facebook but app world, google maps, scoremobile, whatsapp and tunein radio to name a few don't appear to be using wifi at all.

Aug 13, 2010I have a problem with a new blackberry bold 9700 i have just bought. I live in bolivia and i purchased this phone, asked in the store if it is compatible with my network etc and we tested with my sim. It worked fine for calls and got a 3g signal.When i returned home I tried configuring the internet access andn could not get this to work. So today i took it to my provider and asked a tech to configure and he said that i must first buy a "plan blackberry" for it to work - ok i said ad went to change my plan to plan blackberry - but after i had this the tried to set it up and then tell me that the phone is locked to only use at & t blackberry service.
So my questions are ..
1. - is this true?
2. can i unlock this somehow?
seems unfair that i have paid full price for a phone that is tied to a network that doesn't exist in my country - it was imported legally - if i cannot change it.
BB Bold 9700 :: Return Key Doesn't Work On First Push
Jan 1, 2010I have a New Bold 9700, Software version 5.0.0.405, Carrier AT&T. The "Return Key" Between the Red Telephone end key and the Track Pad, doesn't always work on the first push, sometimes it requires multiple pushes to get it to work.
Example, In the Home screen area, if you hit the home key it lists all your icons, if you hit the Return Key, it works most of the time, but many times it will require either another push or a push and hold to work. I went into the About, Applications, 3rd party apps listing I pushed the return key,, and it required multiple pushes to work-, ( It should return you to your starting point)
I have already done a Battery Pull while the device was on, I thought it got better but, no such luck, same thing again.
I also thought that maybe the button or pad is "Stiff" and just needs a break-in period? I don't know.

Jul 9, 2010I received my upgrade on Monday - a shiney new Blackberry Bold 9700. After setting it all up and getting the phone how i liked it, I started to notice problems........
My Blackberry messenger either didn't work or sent & received messages hours after they were actually sent.The internet was painfully slow if it loaded at all.
If I tried to make calls it would rarely work either taking forever to connect or when it did try to connect, I would hear a triple beep repeatedly as though there was a problem.When people tried to call me, they would go straight to my voicemail even though I was not on a call and had full signal.
My network provider immediately agreed to replace the handset and get me a new one out the next day and today I received the new handset. I've come home, tried to make a few calls on the handset before setting it up and all I am getting is an SOS symbol where the signal symbol should be and I am not able to make calls or do anything else.
I tried to restore the backed up file from my last handset and although it restored my numbers & text messages as well as my background image & alarms, it has not restored my programmes that I had installed and it has not restored my email and facebook settings. Am I doing something wrong or do I have another faulty handset?
BB Bold 9700 :: Micro SD Memory Card Online Doesn't Work
May 26, 2010I just recently bought a 16gb Micro SD memory card online, but it doesn't work. I put it into my phone and it says to format and I format and everything. After formatting is complete, I connect my phone to my computer so I can sync it with my itunes. The problem occurs as soon as it gets done syncing. After it's done syncing and I disconnect my from computer, the "format memory card" message comes up again. If I say no, none of the music comes to my phone. Then I go to option > memory and then it says memory card is not readable. It has to be formatted because it might be corrupted.If I select yes to format it, all the data that I just synced erases and I'm back to the beginning. This happens every single time I do it.
However, one thing I notice was when I stop the syncing halfway through, the memory card works. But if I let it sync all 600 songs (which is about 5-6 gb out of 16), the memory card fails.can anyone help me? Maybe someone had a problem like this and found a solution. Appreciate all the help I receive. BTW, I'm using the Bold 9700 for tmobile.
BB Bold 9700 :: Applications Only Work On WiFi
Jul 9, 2010I've downloaded a few apps from the store onto my Bold 9700 (Twitter, Facebook, Opera mini etc) and have no problems as long as I'm in WiFi range. Once outside this I can't use them without getting a message about them being a WiFi service and to check connection.
My browser preference is set to "Hotspot browser" but even when I change this to 3G I still get the same message. None of the applications seem to have browser setting preferences so I'm not sure how I can get round the problem.Does anyone know of a settings page somewhere that will fix this?

Sep 2, 2010This is my 1st BlackBerry. I've been given a Bold 9700 & I'm over the moon with it's basic features. I've simply transferred the PAYG SIM card out of my previous phone - a Sony Ericsson w302, where most things worked as expected. Regards the BB's other features, I was quite surprised to find personal email impossible to set up & internet to be totally WiFi Dependant. In addition, many apps (eg, msn, facebook, google maps, etc) don't work due to there being no data connection, even whilst using WiFi.
Expecting the need to upgrade to a 3g SIM card, I called orange & was told that I'd need to pay £5/mth for email & 250MB data. I consider this quite objectionable - is that really the deal & will it solve my problems? If that's the best orange can do, what experience have you guys had with other UK carriers on PAYG.

Jul 9, 2010I just got a new BB Bold 9700 from the UK and had it sent to me in Iraq. I've connected to my home wifi, which i used to do with my old BB to use the BBM service, but for some reason my new BB won't connect to the internet even though it is connected to my wifi. My laptop is connected to the internet through the wifi and there doesn't seem to be any problems with conflicting IP addresses or anything like that so i don't know why my BB won't connect to the internet. Could it be that my BB wasn't registered while it was in the UK or anything like that? Or is there another reason?
