I want to click one button and have an open blank text screen. My next step would be to select a contact. Can I go this?
Right now, I click the SMS and MMS app and it takes me to all my most recent messages. Then I click the menu button, then I scroll down to Compose SMS Text.
i just got my BB this morning and was just playing around with the options. i set the trackpad to mute then i didnt like it so i changed it back to click. but now it doesnt have the click sound.am i missing out smth?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a Blackberry Bold 9700. It was purchased at Rogers, but it is currently under Koodo's service.The file free on my phone is 86,607,023 Bytes. The applications installed shown is only "FREE Earth Floats Animated Theme" from Mobstar Media Ltd. I'm not entirely sure what BT device model/version means, but if it's Bluetooth, I've never used that (and it is currently disabled according to my phone); however the previous owner may have used it with Rogers.
Now for the question:
Earlier today I dropped my BlackBerry on the floor and when I picked it up, I sent a text. Soon afterwards, my phone would not respond to pressing in (clicking) the trackpad. My phone still allowed me to scroll upwards, downwards, and to either side; the only thing it would not rspond to is pressing the trackpad.I had an epiphany in which I realized that I could simply hit the enter key to do anything (so far) that clicking in my trackpad will do; however, I still would like to be able to press in my trackpad to select options and such.
I read up some articles and they all said to either:1. Remove the battery for a period of time, or remove the battery/memory card/sim card for a period of time. 2. Press the button in 'hard' and this will 'free it up'.I did both of these, but had no luck.
One thing that I thought might help is reinstalling the operating system, but I can't find my cord. I called a friend and he said I could borrow his cord tomorrow, but since no one had suggested this as a potential solution, I didn't want to unecessarily hold off posting about my problem.
I got my Blackberry Bold 9700 from AT&T about a month and a half ago, and recently I've been having problems opening texts. It'll say I have a new text and I'll go in my inbox to open it but when I click, it won't let me read it. It'll let me open the ones before it, but not the unread one. Even if I click the the menu button then "open" it still doesn't work.
View 14 Replies View RelatedIf you click on the upper part of your trackpad does it not make a clicking noise and do you feel it click down? mine doesn't , but every where else it does( middle, left and right and bottom). I did the trackpad fix and my trackpad is very solid and even now.

Upon first getting used to the keys on my 9700, I would accidentally delete all the text I had just type in my SMS texts. I could have been pressing multiple buttons due to my bulky bodyglove that I have on it, but I've tried everything: pressing Delete twice really fast, holding the Delete key down, pressing the Delete key down while pressing the surrounding keys down...everything. Now that I want the whole field cleared, I can't figure out how it did it when I didn't intend to do it initially.Anyone know what to do, aside from going to the Menu and pressing Clear Field? I was only "backspacing" at the time I was fixing character typos, and somehow it managed to delete the whole field.

I personally don't like bbm and would rather have sms texting. What do I need to do to our phones so they go back to sms text? Can I just delete bbm and it will fix itself?

If I send out a plain MMS picture with a subject and the receiver sends back sole text, well, there is no other way to describe it, but either the text never appears or it disappears within second and I can never read it.
Anybody knows how to rectify that. I searched but didn't find the proper answer. Oh, I am on Rogers btw.
I have a Bold 9700. My phone was in my purse on my body and when I got it out, I was at 7/9 password attempts. While entering my password, it was in plain text vs. the asteriks. I'm now at my last attempt and was prompted that I will lose everything on my phone if I have another failed attempt. I don't know what to do next to save this.

I plugged my device into my laptop to setup the BB Desktop software and when I unplugged it a short while later, I noticed I no longer had a text messaging icon on my homescreen, or in my tray. When I attempt to send something, I get the check mark beside the message confirming it was sent, but they are not being delivered and I am no receiving messages.
Which settings do I need to check? I know it has the latest software. I updated it today.
For my 9700 the carrier (China Mobile) shows up as @QhtY(triagle)(three horizontal lines).Anyone have any ideas? The SIM cards of other carriers show up perfectly fine. Reboots and battery pulls don't do anything. I've ungraded multiple OS's as well and the problem still persists.

View 14 Replies View RelatedStarting yesterday night, every time I would try to open the activity log for my boyfriend, the phone will freeze. I took the battery out and turned the device off. Once back on, I noticed that some of my text messages were missing between us. Its only him, no other contact in my phone. Does anyone know why. When I do a search for it, I see all the text messages even the ones missing but every time I try to pull it up in messages, it doesn't show up and freezes. I've only had the device for a couple of days.
