This happens multiple times a day. I get a new text message or something, and I am not able to open up the SMS text conversation. Even after restarting and all that I still can't open up the text message convo.

i got a blackberry bold 9700 for christmas and i've been having only one problem with the phone. Sometimes when I've been having a conversation, through sms text messages, with someone I will be randomly unable to open a newly received sms text message and cannot open it for a while. I got it checked and they gave me a new phone, and this one is doing the same thing. Sometimes i can't open it for 10 mins and then sometimes i have to delete it because it's been over 2 hours. this is getting really annoying and more and more frequent. does anyone know what i should do? cause the bell people dont even know.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI use text alot to keep in contact with my boyfriend who lives 250 miles away and our conversation had got quite lengthy which has been causing it to freeze lately and sometimes the text app crashes altogether when I open our conversation thread. I really should have deleted the whole conversation once this started to happen but there were a fair few photos and also some audio clips that he had sent me which I wanted to save and hadn't got around to doing yet (I usually just forward any photos etc to my email that I want to save due to the annoying issue of not being able to save MMS content on the Xperia X10 mini) and some lovely texts which I was reluctant to delete.
However, a couple of hours ago when I tried to open our conversation it just wouldn't open, all I am getting is a blank page. There are 5 texts unopened from him tonight and I cannot read them at all, just a blank blue page and I can't see our previous texts back and forth at all. All I want to do is open the conversation so that I can forward the photos I want to keep to my email and then I can go ahead and delete everything so that I don't have the problem of freezing and crashing anymore and so that we are able to text one another again. Does anybody know of any way I may be able to get this conversation open in order to salvage my precious photos before deleting everything? I really am reluctant to just go ahead and delete the entire conversation before I can work out a way to save these pictures but obviously I realise that if this turns out to be impossible then I will have no choice but to lose the photos. I'm kicking myself now for not saving the photos as soon as I received them and the originals have been deleted from my boyfriends phone as soon as he sent them. I've tried shutting down the phone and turning it on again, I've tried deleting other conversations to see if that helped, I've even tried plugging the phone into my laptop via USB to see if I can access the texts that way but I'm not even sure if that is possible. Has anyone ever had just a blank blue page come up when trying to open a conversation or knows how to get it open without deleting the entire thing?
I started integrating my Gmail account around 2 or 3 weeks ago. The setup completed without any problems. I can open my emails without a hassle. The conversation feature works fine. There wasn't a single problem until I realized I can't open a conversation sent from one of my subscribed mailing list.
At first, I thought it was because the emails from the mailing list was not in my Inbox. I have it filtered so that it skipped Inbox and labeled "MyGroup". So I decided to edit the filter and have the emails also sent to my Inbox. The emails started showing up in my BlackBerry Gmail Inbox, but I still can't open any of the conversations sent from the mailing list.
I even tried creating a new Gmail account and have the mailing list emails sent to that new Gmail account. No filters, no nothing. The emails were sent directly to the Inbox in my new Gmail account. I integrate this new Gmail account into my BlackBerry. Unfortunately the issue remains. I still can't open the conversations.
For the past week or so, my texts messages get stuck. What I mean..If I'm texting a friend and we are going back and forth, all of a sudden, the text msg wont open. I can scroll thru the list and open, reply to my other friends, but not the one im communicating with at that moment. I press the trackpad a ton of times and it just wont open. Even if I receive a new text, it still wont open.Can anyone diagnose this problem and tell me what I should do? I'm sick of doing the 5min battery pulls.

Is this a space issue? Is there a way to purge deleted messages, when I had my Curve there was a way to purge deleted items.

But one problem i'am having trouble with sending and receiving text messages. I have called att customer care numerous times and powered cycled my phone as many times as I can count but still nothing, I have also checked to see if the "service center" number is correct and it is, I still have no clue what it could be. When i send an sms text message and scroll up to the message it says "sent" and the date and time but i ask the recipient if he/she has received the text but still nothing.

For example, sometimes I get forwarded chain texts and it won't let me view them, it'll show a random block of text and that's it. And if I try to reply to it, it won't show me my reply, it's only doing this with a few contacts, but it's still extremely annoying.I've tried uninstalling my third party apps and it didn't fix it, is it a setting I have to change or does anyone know anything?

1-I can't send or receive texts from certain contacts (right now it only seems to be from my boyfriend, we're both on At&t).
2-My text threads lock-up. A new text comes in, but I can't actually open the message. I can open all the previous messages, but any message at the top won't open.
Just recently I have had some problems sending normal text messages..The problem is when I want to send a text I go to my contacts and try to send a sms message, but instead of opening up a conversation window I get taken straight to my recieved messages... I havent had a problem replying to messages after people have texted me, its iniating the converstation thats not working.

" UNCAUGHT EXCEPTION: JAVA.LANG. INDEX OUT OF BOUNDS EXCEPTION"
It will not allow me to view or even open the folder.I have tried rebooting it by taking the battery out etc, no joy.
My Blackberry is just 2 months old and the icons for Text Messages and E Mail freezes when I click on them. In face the wholw phone freezes. I have to switch application and try some other Icon to get a response.

When I have a conversation open, new texts from that person do not immediately show. Instead I hear the text tone, see Messages (1) in the upper lefthand corner, and have to toggle back to the main menu and then re-enter the conversation to read it.

View 19 Replies View RelatedHaving issues with the Z5 when it comes to opening messages, mine will show opening conversation for 20 seconds before actually opening a message then once i complete the message the phone crashes and i have to close all open apps, phone is one month old and I am beginning to regret the change from an iphone. MMS's always make the phone freeze also.

I was hoping a software update would of fixed this issue but sadly it didnt. Not too keen on a much slower phone than previous phone for a further 23 months as this is the remainder of my contract.

1st problem: I moved from german to sweden recently, and now whenever I get messages from my german friends and a notification comes at the top of the screen, i click on it and it goes to a new message instead of opening the conversation.Â
2nd problem: I also have to save my friends' numbers twice under mobil and iphone once with 0 and once with +49 because otherwise it just shows their number instead of the name i have saved in my phone.
