Nov 10, 2011I have a bug on my phone. Some times I will send a text it won't show up in the chat box after I hit send. When I back out it will appear in the full text message list.When the recipient replies it will come in a new thread. All sent will be in a thread and all recieved will be in another. I have all contact phone numbers saved in this format: (555) 555-1212. It doesn't always perform this way and reacts randomly. Usually it will fix itself upon deletion of both threads and a soft reset.Any know fixes? Is this a known issue? Is anyone else having this Kernel version: 2.6.32.9Build number: 4.5.1A-1_SUN-198_6

Aug 6, 2010I have an HTC Touch (not pro) flashed for Cricket using the OS modded by TooG. I use Microsoft MyPhone to backup all my data to my MyPhone account. My phone completely locked up and I ended up doing a hard re-set on my phone. I installed the MyPhone application (a copy I have stored in my MicroSD) and started the restore process. The data seems to have come back fine, with all my contacts, calendar, photos, and music being restored properly.
Problem #1) When I get a text message, I get the alert that I have a new text message and I see the first sentence of the message. To read the whole message I normally just tapped the alert and it would open the message. Now, I tap the message and it brings me to my Inbox, but no sign of the text message anywhere. I cannot find the message to read the message.
Problem #2) Text messages used to be stored in threads arranged according to date, and sender. On the main text message list, it would show newest messages on top, and when you opened the message, it would show the message history from that person. But now, Incoming message are in an INBOX, and all sent messages are in a SENT box. To follow a conversation, you would need to go back and forth. VERY ANNOYING.

Right now, I click the SMS and MMS app and it takes me to all my most recent messages. Then I click the menu button, then I scroll down to Compose SMS Text.

Apr 27, 2010so I've tried finding this in the manual and have tried searching the threads, and haven't found my answer. Upon first getting used to the keys on my 9700, I would accidentally delete all the text I had just type in my SMS texts. I could have been pressing multiple buttons due to my bulky bodyglove that I have on it, but I've tried everything: pressing Delete twice really fast, holding the Delete key down, pressing the Delete key down while pressing the surrounding keys down...everything. Now that I want the whole field cleared, I can't figure out how it did it when I didn't intend to do it initially.Anyone know what to do, aside from going to the Menu and pressing Clear Field? I was only "backspacing" at the time I was fixing character typos, and somehow it managed to delete the whole field.

Jan 6, 2010I did something to my phone (and my wifes) that whenever we send messages to each other, it always makes it a bbm. I personally don't like bbm and would rather have sms texting. What do I need to do to our phones so they go back to sms text? Can I just delete bbm and it will fix itself?

Aug 18, 2010New user, long-time lurker here. Until today it wasn't bugging me too much, but now it does. If I send out a plain MMS picture with a subject and the receiver sends back sole text, well, there is no other way to describe it, but either the text never appears or it disappears within second and I can never read it.
Anybody knows how to rectify that. I searched but didn't find the proper answer. Oh, I am on Rogers btw.
BB Bold 9700 :: Password Plain Text?
Mar 19, 2010I have a Bold 9700. My phone was in my purse on my body and when I got it out, I was at 7/9 password attempts. While entering my password, it was in plain text vs. the asteriks. I'm now at my last attempt and was prompted that I will lose everything on my phone if I have another failed attempt. I don't know what to do next to save this.

When I attempt to send something, I get the check mark beside the message confirming it was sent, but they are not being delivered and I am no receiving messages.
Which settings do I need to check? I know it has the latest software. I updated it today.

Jan 11, 2010For my 9700 the carrier (China Mobile) shows up as @QhtY(triagle)(three horizontal lines).Anyone have any ideas? The SIM cards of other carriers show up perfectly fine. Reboots and battery pulls don't do anything. I've ungraded multiple OS's as well and the problem still persists.

Jun 28, 2010Starting yesterday night, every time I would try to open the activity log for my boyfriend, the phone will freeze. I took the battery out and turned the device off. Once back on, I noticed that some of my text messages were missing between us. Its only him, no other contact in my phone. Does anyone know why. When I do a search for it, I see all the text messages even the ones missing but every time I try to pull it up in messages, it doesn't show up and freezes. I've only had the device for a couple of days.

Jul 1, 2010I did a forum search for my problem, and couldn't find an answer for my specific issue, which is this:My AT&T 9700 worked great until about a month ago, when it started to freeze while I was text messaging. Looking through the forums here, I noticed that it was happening when I had large numbers of saved texts, and I started deleting the threaded messages so that I was never over about 20-25 texts per person. That solved the problem for 2 weeks.Last week, I started deleting all text messages beyond 15 texts, total, and still I have the issue. I just had the phone freeze and refuse to allow me into the threaded portion of the text after just 3 texts (2 from my wife and 1 from me)!Does anyone else have this problem? I have done the following as well, in order:
Battery pull
Factory reset, no additional applications
Upgraded to the latest AT&T approved OS (5.0.0.602?)

Each time, the problem has recurred. I never have less than 105MB of application memory available.
I run my practice via email and text messages when I am (frequently) out of the office, so this is becoming a critical issue for me. Ideas?
BB Bold 9700 :: Text Messages Stuck And Won't Open
Jul 21, 2010For the past week or so, my texts messages get stuck. What I mean..If I'm texting a friend and we are going back and forth, all of a sudden, the text msg wont open. I can scroll thru the list and open, reply to my other friends, but not the one im communicating with at that moment. I press the trackpad a ton of times and it just wont open. Even if I receive a new text, it still wont open.Can anyone diagnose this problem and tell me what I should do? I'm sick of doing the 5min battery pulls.

Feb 8, 2010Has anybody else experienced failures with this phone? I replaced my curve with a 9700 on an upgrade, only to have the brand new Bold 9700 completely die after 6 days. The next one lasted 14 days, and now I sit with my third broken 9700 that went a whopping 2 days.
Every time, the phone will be sending a text and then shut itself off. When I try to do a hard restart by pulling the battery, I get a constantly glowing red LED for a few seconds.Before getting the third phone, I had my SIM card replaced, memory card replaced, and got a whole new set of charging cords. Heck, I hadn't even charged it since I picked it up...
