BB Bold 9700 :: Desktop Software To Get Online Starting Synchronization?
Jan 29, 2010
I want to sync with an outlook calender on a notebook. There is an internet connection, but i do not have the password to go online (we have a Token because it is the notebook of the company i am working for). If the Desktop Software tries to get online, it does not find the connection. (Proxy) Is there a possibility to sync with outlook, without going online first. With my last Blackberry 8900 it was possible.

I'm tryng to syncronise my phone with my work PC so that I can access my Outlook calender at home + put my Outlook contacts on my phone. I have instaled BlackBerry Desktop manager then I went to "syncronize" on the main menu. On the left had side there is a tab that says "syncronizatin" (i cliked on it). I then hit Synchronization. I have selected ALL the device applications i.e. calender, memo pad, address book and tasks then hit OK. I then get an error measage as follows:
"Synchronization is currently unavailable for: Address Book because the application(s) is (are) configured for wireless synchronization. Desktop synchronization for the above application(s) will be disabled. Please click on "Help" for information on how to disable wireless synchronization on your device."

I woke up in the middle of the night and saw my bberry at the start up screen with the white bar. It was at the 75%. I don't recall installing any apps before i slept which would require a reboot. So, i pull out the battery and reinsert it. It was still stuck at 75%. Tried it a few times this morning and still at the start up screen. I need help ASAP!
I called T-Mobile and they said a file is corrupted and would need to send me a replacement. Is there anything i could do?

I have tried a number of times to setup synchronization for OL 2002 in DM 6. The initial installation over DM 5 gave me the "Determining the root configuration name for the main system . . ." when I tried configure synchronization, and at the end only contacts and notes were checked to be sync'd. I tried to manually set up synchronization for Calendar and Tasks, but every time a I click "finish" in the setup the check mark would disappear from the box for that item.
I have installed all DM's, reinstalled DM 6, did an update from DM 5 to 6 using check for upgrades in DM 5.I have to stick with DM 5, because that's the only way I can sync.Given the numerous problems with sync OL with DM 6, I would think there is at least some official feedback acknowledging the issues and that a solution is being worked on.

I installed Desktop Software V6 for my 9700. It recognizes everything except my organizer. I click "configure settings", it tells me the operation is in progress for a second or two and then goes back to the previous screen. Anyone else have this problem? I can't sync my calendar or contacts without being able to configure the settings.

Having just bought a "Bold 9700" I am new to the BlackBerry-World. I would like to sync my emails (e.g. the emails I wrote and sent on the road) and the adress book entries of the device (software version 5.0.0.423) with "Windows Mail" on my home computer (OS Visa, SP 2). Up to now I couldn't find out how to do this, either with the "Desktop Manager" (version 5.0.1) or with some other piece of software (???). Potentialy it looks like the "DesktopManager" could be up to this task, but the box to check for this is not highlighted, so I can not select this option.

So, I just upgraded to a new Bold 9700 w/ Desktop Mgr 5.0.1.
I understand the complications some experience with this, and have diagnosed nearly everything (firewalls, virus protection, USB connection works, full/clean uninstall of old DTM, etc, etc.).
The unit is recognized by my PC and DTM. I can successfully search and download software updates, but I continue to get this error about "Your computer must be connected to the internet to perform this operation." It's maddening!
I use a stand alone PC running XP and using Outlook 2003. I'm not on any network. Don't use BES. I transferred all data from an old 8130 to this with no problem, I just can't get the initial sync to happen.
The only remaining solutions I've read about (although don't really understand) are:
1. ensuring COMM ports 80 and/or 443 are open to the device. How exactly do I do this? Really, I have no clue what that means.
2. Finding an old version of Destop Manager (4.2 and earlier). Got a URL handy?
3. changing my bberry router configuration. This sounds drastic, but at least it's a workaround.

I just recently bought a 16gb Micro SD memory card online, but it doesn't work. I put it into my phone and it says to format and I format and everything. After formatting is complete, I connect my phone to my computer so I can sync it with my itunes. The problem occurs as soon as it gets done syncing. After it's done syncing and I disconnect my from computer, the "format memory card" message comes up again. If I say no, none of the music comes to my phone. Then I go to option > memory and then it says memory card is not readable. It has to be formatted because it might be corrupted. If I select yes to format it, all the data that I just synced erases and I'm back to the beginning. This happens every single time I do it.
However, one thing I notice was when I stop the syncing halfway through, the memory card works. But if I let it sync all 600 songs (which is about 5-6 gb out of 16), the memory card fails.can anyone help me? Maybe someone had a problem like this and found a solution. Appreciate all the help I receive. BTW, I'm using the Bold 9700 for tmobile.

I have a personally-owned device that my employer was allowing me to use for business purposes.I am running Outlook 2003 to connect with a corporate Exchange server.I am running Desktop Redirector to push email to my 9700.I am planning on leaving this company within the next few months and I started wondering. Short of wiping my phone, how can I disassociate it from that corporate email address? Yeah, I plan on uninstalling Desktop Manager and Redirector when I leave. but the way I see it, my phone will still "expect" email from that address even though it's not getting any. Is that the right way of thinking about it? How do I completely get rid of that address association?

I am with T-mobile with a Blackberry 9700 v5.0.0.330 (Platform 5.1.0.91)
I am having difficulty syncing my device to my computer.
I am running Vista 32 bit on a Dell Inspiron 1525.
I have downloaded Desktop Manager 5.0.1 B49 MultiLanguage - Without Media Manager successfully and downloaded the latest version (I have seen elsewhere that this version is suggested for the bold 9700).
My computer recognizes the device but from the Found New Hardware prompt as a RIM Composite Device but In the desktop manager it says that there is no device plugged in.
I have also turned on media card support and mass storeage mode.
I cannot find the appropriate driver through the device manager either.
I did a couple battery pulls and connection re-tries in different usb ports.

While trying to update my apps this morning, the 9700 hung up, as did the Desktop software.I rebooted both. The device works partially but I am missing key features like the browser. When connecting to the device through either the desktop software of the web, I enter the password, which appears to be accepted, then the device hangs again.I can't update or remove the software.I get connectivity through 3G but have no browser.

Typically, as these things seem to happen, one day everything's fine & the next it's not! My Bold 9700 will no longer connect to the Desktop Manager, but worked fine yesterday. Having run the Troubleshooter, I'm being told "Rim.Desktop is Incompatible".
