BB Storm 9500 :: Synchronization On Desktop Manager
Jul 15, 2010
I have a Storm 2...My carrier is Verizon.I work on a PC..I put most of my calendar items first on the device.I would like to put calendar items on both device and outlook to have them sync.I have reconfigured synchronization on Desktop Manager a bunch of times.I am not able to migrate existing calendar items on my device to outlook on my desktop.I also have a problem with double items appearing on my device from time to time.
I am needing to upgrade to the OS v.5 but my Storm is not connecting to Desktop Manager. I can see that it's connected to my laptop by checking under My Computer. I've repeatedly done a hard reset for my Storm and also uninstalled/reinstalled the Desktop software, restarted my laptop. I also disabled Norton and Windows Firewall. Neither worked. I also decided to do a "wipe handheld" which SORTA worked but doesn't work. Desktop Manager recognizes the Storm connection but still remains disconnected and the phone continues to flash the screen "Connecting to desktop" and goes away. The last time my Storm was able to connect to the Desktop software was in August of 2009 when I was able to backup my data. Now, not only can I upgrade my OS, I can't restore my data because for some reason the phone and Desktop manager will not maintain a connection. I'm beyond frustrated at this point.
I am no longer using my Storm (or any other BB) but I may go back to it or to a new BB later, so I don't want to delete DM but I would like to set it so that it does not start up when my computer boots. I was able to achieve this on another laptop with Vista, but i cannot find a way on XP.
I have Blackberry Desktop Manager 4.7 installed and I can successfully connect the Blackberry Storm 9500. However, after I select Application Loader, I get the dialog message "Search for available device software" and then it just hangs. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and does not work. I want to install a J2ME application on the Blackberry.
Device info Storm 9530 Your carrier: Verizon Model info and OS version (go to settings, options, about):v5.0.0.328 Add above to you profile if you dont wat to type it in all the time.
Apps and free space No Apps. mega free space .File free before and after a battery remove/replace. (settings, options, applications): n/a BT device model/version (you will have to look at the BT device): What's a BT device?
My storm connected GREAT to the desktop manager with my old work computer. synched all my contacts and appointments from Outlook which is all I wanted it to do. Work gets me a new computer. 64 bit, dual processor, a million gigs of RAM. I download and install newest Desktop Manager from Blackberry site. start it up. I get this little window: "Before you begin verify that your current Blackberry device is connected" So I connect the Storm via a USB cable. As I wait, Windows 7 does it's thing, installs whatever it thinks it needs, and then asks what I want to do. Meanwhile Desktop Manager (DM) does not see the Storm.....
I downloaded crack utility and desktop manager 4.6 , 4.7, etc. nothing works. My computer will not recognize my phone and it seams I have tried everything. My OS is 4.7.0.148 and its unlocked and now with TMobile. Desktop manager wont recognizing phone.
I upgraded to new Desktop Manager - 6.47 and now I can't sych my organizer data.I always get a message that wireless sychronization is in place but when I check this is not true. There are not even options to synchronize - memo pad, contacts, and tasks on my device.I even shut off all wireless services and still no change. Can't get satisfaction for Blackberry so called support.
I had to reinstall my OS a couple weeks ago. I installed the official 5.0.0.328 from Verizon, and now for some reason, my contact lists aren't syncing with my Gmail account. I went into the settings to try to enable it, but the option is grayed out (it says that Wireless Synchronization is Not Available). What happened, and how do I fix my problem? I appreciate any help. BTW I have two GMail accounts on my phone so I don't want to use Google Sync.
When I start the Desktop Manager and connect my phone everything works fine. I then try to launch Media Manager and the Device connected (PIN) : Blackberry 9550 (310C647) goes grey and the software says " There is no device connected. Please connect your device in order to view its contents."
As of 2 days ago my 9550 won't sync with Outlook (USB or Bluetooth). Has worked fine for 2+ years. I have made no changes or updated any software. After 10+ hours of tech support with RIM they tell me its a software glitch they are aware of and don't know when or if it will be resolved. Verizon is not aware of the issue...RIM has me waste 10+ hours of my time and their techs time...and they both have told me your out of luck.
I have used smartphones since the Civil War, and usually when there is a desktop to sync to, there is a calendar on the desktop. The only icons on the BB desktop are Media, Application Loader, Backup and Restore, Device Switch Wizard, Synchronize and IP Modem. Seems sort of unnecessarily idiosyncratic, but what do I know? I can't find anything on the BB site, where they evidently think email is the most important issue. Probably for some.

After downloading BlackBerry App World to my Storm, I got a notice that the downlaod had been successful, but I cannot find App World on my phone. There's no desktop icon, nothing in Applications, nothing. What am I missing?
I have a 9500. Just gave up a Treo 650. I found the palm funtion of viewing the contents of treo applications on the treo desktop (on my pc) very useful. Can I do the same with the BlackBerry desktop on my computer.
Recently I changed jobs and as a result I used crackutil to remove my old companies (BES) IT policy from my BB.The new company activated via wireless activation (BES) and now I have 2 "desktop" contact lists. I am trying to sync with lotuc notes but cant as only the 2nd desktop list will sync. my original contacts are in the other desktop list and will not sync. I have tried going to contacts > options> typing rset and it deletes the lists but i cant get them to load from back up into one list.
Your carrier: VIP Croatia OS: WinXP SP3 x86 Office 2010 (Outlook 2010) Did a battery pull fix your issue? No (if you think of disable USB power) BT device model/version (you will have to look at the BT device):
Trying to start "Configure settings" and this all the time breaks. Have reinstalled (install on clean PC also) this 6 version. reset intellisync dir...tc...all waht I found on this forum.

Please help this is imposible to be in such a brand with so much problems and no explanation at all.
I went to the Verizon place a couple of days ago to see if they could get my phone to stop freezing and running slow. Well they accidentally deleted over half my pictures and my phone is the only place I have those pictures. Well luckily, I thought, I have a backup file and my pictures will be on there. But whenever I try to run it I get the error "data not recognized by desktop!" Some of these pictures are really really important to me and I want them back. Is there anything I can do to make the backup file work? Will it even contain the pictures? I have a blackberry storm and the verizon place said I have the most updated software.
After recently updating the Desktop Manager to 5.0.1, the Redirector no longer operates. When opening it, i get the error message."Desktop Redirector has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry..." I've unistalled Destop Manager, reverted back to 5.0.0 and I still have the same issue. This was and is currently setup with my Outlook 2003 (SP3) exchange server to forward my work emails, and it worked up until I updated to 5.0.1 last week.
The following applicatoins do not show up on the desktop manager applications list, or in the applications list in the setup options on the phone itself. How can I remove the items from the phone if it is not giving the option to do so? Apps that I did not install to the phone, but are listed in my applications folder (actual folder, not in setup options) on the phone itself.
Bing Skype NFL Mobile
Apps that I personally installed on the phone and then uninstalled them from the phone itself. They still show on the phone. If I click on the app, it takes me to the install screen & gives me the options "I agree / I do not agree".
A client of ours had upgraded his version of Desktop manager to 6 from 5.something.There is no more link for the Redirector under START - PROGRAMS - BLACKBERRY..The icon for the redirector still shows up in his start menu, however, it says that it's not started.Where can I find the software with the new desktop manager? I've tried reinstalling the desktop manager already but still cannot find it, nor were there any options during the installation to include it.
I've been using DM6 for the last week or so and am very disappointed. It does not seem to remember the last time that I synced or backed up. The only time it remembers is the first time I synced my BB with it. Not such a big issue for syncing, but I like my BB to backup weekly...so once a week has passed after the first sync, it wants to back up every time.
DM 5.0.1 worked flawlessly, but since I am using Outlook 2010, I can't go back.Come on RIM, you can do better than this.Any suggestions on how to get DM to remember when it actually backed up or synced?
I, stupidly, recently upgraded to the new DM v6 when prompted to do so.Since then, I have not been able to prevent emails arriving wirelessly when my BB is plugged into the software.I WANT THAT ABILITY BACK! Ok, I realise I may be weird in not wanting to have to deal with emails twice (desktop AND on my BB) but I have been happily using my BB for untethered email only. So, the question is: how do I stop my BB receiving emails while it is plugged into the DM? (I've not yet tried rolling back to the previous version of DM as that kinda offends my sense of progress.
I have been synching both Yahoo Address Book and Yahoo Calendar successfully for months.Suddenly, Address Book no longer synchs.Yahoo calendar still works. The problem occurs aftew Desktop reads all the contacts. It halts while "Synchronization Progress reading from Yahoo Address Book" displays. That message has displayed for up to an hour with no progress.I then disconnect and halt Desktop.I can still synch Yahoo Calendar.I have not updated desktop or device software.
i just wanted to know if its possible to set up their blackberry manager in such a way that it automatically uploads files to to a computer once connected to a network?
At work, we use Novell Groupwise. Calendar syncs fine, but BB Desktop Manager crashes when I sync addresses. I can load one-way from the computer to the BB, but not the other way. I may have a corrupt address, but haven't been able to get it all to work. What do I do to stop this?
I've spent a week trying to get the desktop manager to detect my curve 8530 to no avail My pc windows xp professional detects it but not the manager Ive tried what i could find on blackberry forums as well as my providers support forums and nothings worked is there anything else i can do.
I have a person who when I make the connection between their BB Desktop Manager and their Outlook Profile all of a sudden outlook sends all incoming email to the Junk E-mail folder.Another behavior is that if I add the sender to the Safe Sender List, the next email from that person will show up in both the outlook Inbox and the Junk-Email folder.Any help would be great as I think I have everything setup correctly. If I break just the email outlook profile connection the problem goes away. AKA, Outlook doesn't put emails into the junk folder that shouldn't go there.
