After doing some backups and so, yesterday I started the sofware, conected the 9700 but the situation is different. Desktop appears gray, it recognizes my phone PIN and model, but it doesnt works. It appears freeze. Also the phone icons appears freezed. Shows the PC and the phone, but none moves. I tried with other PC, but the situations remains similar. What is happening?

I installed Desktop Software V6 for my 9700. It recognizes everything except my organizer. I click "configure settings", it tells me the operation is in progress for a second or two and then goes back to the previous screen. Anyone else have this problem? I can't sync my calendar or contacts without being able to configure the settings.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo, I just upgraded to a new Bold 9700 w/ Desktop Mgr 5.0.1.
I understand the complications some experience with this, and have diagnosed nearly everything (firewalls, virus protection, USB connection works, full/clean uninstall of old DTM, etc, etc.).
The unit is recognized by my PC and DTM. I can successfully search and download software updates, but I continue to get this error about "Your computer must be connected to the internet to perform this operation." It's maddening!
I use a stand alone PC running XP and using Outlook 2003. I'm not on any network. Don't use BES. I transferred all data from an old 8130 to this with no problem, I just can't get the initial sync to happen.
The only remaining solutions I've read about (although don't really understand) are:
1. ensuring COMM ports 80 and/or 443 are open to the device. How exactly do I do this? Really, I have no clue what that means.
2. Finding an old version of Destop Manager (4.2 and earlier). Got a URL handy?
3. changing my bberry router configuration. This sounds drastic, but at least it's a workaround.
I've just recieved my 9700 today, and when it boots up, the loading screen completes, but the desktop won't appear.The BlackBerry logo with the white loadingarea (see attached image from Google) is "frozen" on the screen...
The Desktop Manager cannot connect to the phone eighter.I've tried removing the battery, sim-card and SD-card, but nothing helps..

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a personally-owned device that my employer was allowing me to use for business purposes.I am running Outlook 2003 to connect with a corporate Exchange server.I am running Desktop Redirector to push email to my 9700.I am planning on leaving this company within the next few months and I started wondering. Short of wiping my phone, how can I disassociate it from that corporate email address? Yeah, I plan on uninstalling Desktop Manager and Redirector when I leave. but the way I see it, my phone will still "expect" email from that address even though it's not getting any. Is that the right way of thinking about it? How do I completely get rid of that address association?

I am having difficulty syncing my device to my computer.
I am running Vista 32 bit on a Dell Inspiron 1525.
I have downloaded Desktop Manager 5.0.1 B49 MultiLanguage - Without Media Manager successfully and downloaded the latest version (I have seen elsewhere that this version is suggested for the bold 9700).
My computer recognizes the device but from the Found New Hardware prompt as a RIM Composite Device but In the desktop manager it says that there is no device plugged in.
I have also turned on media card support and mass storeage mode.
I cannot find the appropriate driver through the device manager either.
I did a couple battery pulls and connection re-tries in different usb ports.
When i run the desktop manager setup file, the installation process begins, and shows me a dialogue box that says 'pending .net framework' and i hit install to let it start. It goes through a couple of dialogue boxes and after like 5 mins, an error appears saying 'this requires that .net 3.5 sp1 shouild be installed' and i hit finish and it is exited.

The device works partially but I am missing key features like the browser. When connecting to the device through either the desktop software of the web, I enter the password, which appears to be accepted, then the device hangs again.I can't update or remove the software.I get connectivity through 3G but have no browser.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I connect my BB Bold 9700 to the laptop by USB the clock appears, the battery icon shows a plug but then I get the message that it will not charge.The phone cannot be detected by the desktop software (finds it no problem on Bluetooth). I have seen that the mass storage function must be turned on. However with OS6 there appears to be no way of doing this as the media card does not appear in Options.

One was "Desktop" (the email from the BES) and one was "Personal" (my gmail account). There was also an option in the email settings to determine which emails showed up in the "Messages" view as well and you could have personal, work or both show up there.Now I can't seem to find this option in the 9700.

After successful installation and machine restart, I was asked to enter my "Device Password". Assuming this would be my password I set originally to lock my phone I entered it and found this didn't work. I subsequently attempted a number of other logical permutations but then realised that if I continued I would lock my phone. So I stopped (at 8/10 tries) and called my service provider "Orange UK" who advised they couldn't help me and that if I continued to enter the incorrect code, it would wipe my phone as it would automatically reset!When I connected via USB last time, it asked for me to enter the word "blackberry" which I did but when it then asked me to enter my password (which I assumed was the four digit numerical code I had originally set the phone with) it failed to work. I am now left with two further attempts. Please can anyone assist by advising me what I can do to overcome the problem without wiping my phone as the contents are very important to me.

did sync contacts but left some out and does not update
I used to be able to sync my calendar from outlook to my Bold no problem. Now, the sync routine within the Blackberry Desktop application just skips calendar sync completely, nothing in the log file, just gives a little beep. Tasks, contacts, memo all sync fine. I have updated all device SW (5.0.0) and desktop versions. I have done hard resets, combined all calendars to one, etc.

View 8 Replies View RelatedAbout 3 weeks ago I had to switch from a Curve to the 9700. I used the switch device wizard to do this with no problems on my home laptop. Since then I have backed up the 9700 to my laptop but when I went to do this today, the device is not recognized by my laptop. I have tried just about everything with no luck. I thought the issue may be my cable and/or USB port but I actually connected my old Curve to the laptop and it immediately was recognized. I also have been synching the 9700 on my work PC and drove into the office today to see if I could do so..it worked without any problems. I am therefore not sure by the 9700 won't now connect to my laptop. Any ideas from anyone as to what I should be doing or what the problem is? I uninstalled and reinstalled the desktop manager application twice thinking that may be the problem but it has not resolved the issue. As an aside, I have gotten a message appearing on the 9700 saying that the USB connection does not have sufficient power to charge the device. I then acknowledge the message and it shows it is charging so I am not sure what that is...

There is an internet connection, but i do not have the password to go online (we have a Token because it is the notebook of the company i am working for). If the Desktop Software tries to get online, it does not find the connection. (Proxy) Is there a possibility to sync with outlook, without going online first. I've noticed something, and this issue has been discussed in other posts, but not rectified to my satisfaction. If I delete an email on my BB, it does not delete on my Gmail account on a desktop or laptop. This can be incredibly frustrating. I tried using the Gmail mobile BB app, but it doesn't display HTML email, and my BB is used mostly for personal not for business. Maintaining an orderly email account is proving extremely difficult. I've had the DELETE ON: MAILBOX AND HANDHELD set both ways, and i've had the sync option on the MANAGE EMAIL ACCOUNTS submenu checked and unchecked, and it doesn't work any way i can set it.
It's a BB Bold 9700 on T-Mobile in the US.
I'm running v5.0.1 of the DM.Memory/Storage card options are all set to on. When I click Media Sync, the BB momentarily flicks then reverts back to the previous display. Media Sync, animates with the left and right arrows, then eventually times out with the 'did not recognize device' message.The device does not appear in Windows 7 Explorer.
