I recently picked up a bold 9700 and signed up for a data plan in hopes of trying to use the bbm. but for some weird reason, bbm cannot work. when i tried to add a friend, status says pending for authorisation. is there a way for me to make use of bbm on this lost and found smartphone since i have already signed up for a data plan? like maybe reboot the entire os or change for a new pin?

When I send my friends a request by typing there pin they do not get it , but it comes up 'Pending' beside there pin and when they send a request to me I don't get it and it comes up 'Pending' on there screen beside my pin , it is definitely not there bbm because they have got lots of other friends on bbm !

While I'm trying to add my friends PIN who lives in the same area as I am it's working. However, I have some friends in Thailand when I added their PIN they received my request and they did accepted it but the contact still on pending. I already try it many times it still on pending.
Moreover, during group chat my friends in Thailand can see my messages but I can't see their messages. Is there any possible explaination to this problem?
i tried all the steps regarding authorisation failure without any luck. what can i do next?

View 4 Replies View RelatedAm using BB 9700 and am having problem with my BBM status message is not changing since over a month now, I have read in some forums tha I need to make my BBM contacts less than a 100 to make it change and I don't like this solution since I don't want to delete my friends any one can help.By the way if I add new contact he will see the current status message but for the old contact they will keep seeing the old.i have a dozens of friends having the same problem please RIM we need a propper solution.

View 3 Replies View RelatedJust realized the other day you can make a Group in the BBM's and send one message to multiple people. So, I was trying it out. I sent a request to 2 people, to join. One accepted no problem.. For the second person, their request to join didn't seem to go through, so I sent it multiple times. But they HAD joined & then deleted, as test was over.
By the time we were done testing, got it all sorted out. Deleted the Group etc... I guess because for 1 of the people I send the request multiple times thinking it wasn't going through I now have "Pending" sitting at the bottom of the BBM area, & can't get rid of the Pending notification (pending waiting for them to join). They joined once. Deleted. & they no longer have it showing at their end, to join.
all contacts come up as pending when i add them, no invites are coming through?

Once I downloaded I pressed open it did and after I downloaded another one different one pressed open and I got this message "The document could not be opened because there is a pending dialog in Documents To Go. I've had the BB 9700 for all of 2 weeks, but I've only been using it for about 4 days, because I didn't have time to transfer over my data from my old Curve 8320.One of the only reasons I stayed w/ a Blackberry vs another type of phone was UMA on T-Mobile. I need UMA in my office or I don't get reception. I had limited problems with the UMA on my 8320 but mostly it would work.
I could not get UMA to work *at all* yesterday. And today the wifi connection itself was being flaky. I couldn't get it to connect properly. I made sure it was on wifi perferred (it's been that way all along). I fooled w/ the settings for the actual wifi connection. I turned on and then off again the "allow inter-access point handover". Our SSID is not broadcast so I don't think that box should be checked.
I did a battery pull and restarted the phone and the wifi *and* UMA came on for the first time. This was short-lived though because as soon as it switched over to the mobile network, I couldn't get it to connect to the wifi network at all (even if I turned off mobile), and the UMA of course disappeared again.Any additional suggestions would be most appreciated. Yesterday the wifi wasn't acting funny (I don't think anyway) but I still couldn't connect over UMA.I'm open to other firmware versions (mine is stock .330) if it fixes the UMA issue.
My V key needs a serious press to register. Wondering if there are any better solutions than getting it replaced since the trip to the Telus store is an hour and a half each way and they'll only fix it and not replace it. Takes an average of 3 weeks and by then I'm back in Toronto. So I'm waiting at least til mid-may/june for a working keyboard. Can I open up the phone and clean under the keyboard or something without screwing up my warranty?

I have tried Registering in host tables thing, then pulling out battery and it didn't work. Also on my friends curve, instead of 3G he has GPRS. Just too add, how do I change and check my BIS because its on Wifi and I think it should be on 3G im not sure.

One of the phones is working fine.The other phone is not connecting to the 3G network. It is not even showing the 3G network when I manually search networks. I want it to connect to the 3G network because WIND only uses 3G.Both are running the same( latest )OS version. I have switched sim cards(to no avail) and I have tried to restore it to factory settings using the wipe feature in the security settings(nothing)
Both phones are next to each other. One is showing 3G the other is showing 2G (same carrier).what gives??
I've had the 9700 for several months without issue, when randomely, this morning the phone started typing by itself -'L' and 'H' like this...lhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhl- until a message pops up that says "field full". The phone won't respond to the back button and I can't turn it off using the power button - I have to manually pull the battery out to turn it off. When I put the battery back in, it goes to the home screen, but the trackball only works intermittently, and I can't open any of my mailboxes or make calls. Then, about 20 seconds after I put the battery back in, the lhlhlhlhhlhl thing starts again...I have no idea what is going on, but I use this phone for work, so I really need to figure it out...

After a while in that conversation it will start to not work, it will move around bits of text from conversation, it wont let me scroll through messages, then is slow to send, if I leave conversation it wont let me get back into it. View 5 Replies View Relatedmy blackberry has worked fine in the couple of months i have had it, however a few weeks ago the browser and bbm completely stopped working. i took the battery and sim out and then when i put them back in it worked fine again.a few days ago the same thing happened, i tried taking the sim out again and it didnt work, have done it a few times. i rang o2 and they suggested putting it on to manual network and try connecting again, have also done this a few times and it still hasnt worked. i have the right plan and pay to get unlimited browsing, it usually is fine but stopped working randomly.
