I am using the blackberry bold 9700,i updated my software and it wiped out my phone,on re-installing all the software's,whatsapp,facebook etc works fine but for some reason my BBM wouldnt work at all,i tried activating my e-mail account(Enterprise Activation) but i keep getting this "Activation request failed. A service connection is unavailable".
View 3 RepliesI acquired an unlocked T-Mobile blackberry 9700 late last year and had our IT admin guy in NY adding new user license to the blackberry server and then the besadmin had generated activation password for me. I'm using local mobile phone network in Vietnam (Vinaphone) and had installed its service book into my BB. Nevertheless, after having put in my email address and keyed in the activation password, after pressing activate for about 2 minutes of "Acquiring service connection..." my BB keeps on telling me that "Activation request failed. A service connection is unavailable" although the communication receptions signals from my local mobile carrier is strong and I can browse internet and accessing gmail or yahoo mail using my BB (which mean internet connection is available).

We've been using 8900 handsets in the UK, over Vodafone for some time, and tyey work great... ...but now we have a new user who's bought a 9700, again over Vodafone, but this time in Germany. When he attempts to use enterprise activation he (eventually) receives "enterprise server has not responded to your activation request"
We've checked that his data plan is compatible with BES. So - how do we get this working? Do I need to upgrade to BES Express 5.0?
If I go to the internet icon, click on it and then type in a web address, I get an error "http error 503 service unavailable the server is currently unable to handle your request". But if I click on the bookmark for google and type in the web address I'm trying to get to, it will go there.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just received my 808 replaced by Nokia for the 3G bug issue. Now I have been noticing that annoying Connection Failed connection unavailable message every few seconds. Turned the positioning methods OFF and the frequency of the error message goes away but it still pops up every few minutes. I did a hard reset, removed the memory card where most of my apps are installed and it still gives me that same error. Ordered a new SIM to see if that makes any difference - none - Still same error message. That message is so annoying. Anyone have any other ideas that I could try ? Privacy mode is OFF also.

I had the phone on pre-paid BIS + Airtime so I could have access to the internet, bb messenger, gmail email, and phone-related uses. The phone worked fine with no issues whatsoever. Last week, I tried calling someone and received the message - Call Failed. I thought it was credit so I tried loading airtime on the phone. When I did that I received the following message: Supplementary Service Error: General Error.
It's been 1.5 weeks and still the phone does not work: The phone has perfect coverage indicator. The phone has working BIS, BB messenger and internet. The phone cannot work the telephony part of it - calls (outgoing/incoming, SMS, MMS). I cannot call anyone, cannot check Voicemail, cannot load airtime. I have tried re-sending service books, hard reset pulling the battery out, manually registering with the wireless network.
I was wondering how to resolve an issue I've been having with my Bold 9700. I'm placing it in this forum since it doesn't appear to be a model specific issue. When a geolocation request is made (BB Maps, GPS settings in options, etc) the device tries to use aGPS first. When it does I get messages in the device log saying it tried various transports (BIS,WAP,WIFI,TCP) and they all failed. It seems to be failing due to a dns issue. I've tried using it on my home wifi to rule out blocking of the DNS by my carrier (AT&T) and it still has the same issue. The device is on BESX with an IT Policy that is set to allow most everything and BIS.
The specific log entries are:
Geolocation START
Geolocation - Transport failed: BIS
Geolocation - Transport failed: MDS
Geolocation - Transport failed: WLAN
Geolocation - Insufficient Coverage
Then it cycles through a few times:
net.rim.udp open

net.rim.dns - RefQ (which I think means the query was refused)

Until it gets to:

I've taken out some log entries that didn't seem to be significant (tunnel opening, etc). GPS works fine after this fails but I'd like to be able to get a fix when indoors or in low coverage which doesn't seem to happen unless I use a 3rd part app that has it's own aGPS data.
I just got my new Bold9700 and am trying to set it up and failing completely. Part of this may be because I am in Costa Rica. The primary problem is that it is connecting to a WiFi network, but not to a BlackBerry Internet Service. I have a data plan, I am linked to a network here (called I.C.E), and I am connected to a WiFi network, but it will not open due to the lack of Internet Service connection.
My phone is apparently locked, but I am using a USA SIM card, not a Costa Rican one. Do I need to unlock my phone in order to connect to the Internet Server here? As a result of this connection, I also cannot access email or set up BBM.
"Cannot get mail, connection to the service failed". why and how do I repair it?

I recently bought a blackberry bold 9700 from my friend and it is unlocked to any network sim but is originally from Vodafone, I have also just went onto a new contract deal with virgin which includes unlimited internet access but my problem is that the blackberry messenger will not work, I've contacted my service provider and they said they cant do anything because the phone is not originally from them. I have also went to various shops and they also do not know what is wrong.My internet browser works fine but Blackberry messenger will not allow me to add people or see any requests from people when they add me and i dont know what to do next, is there anyway i can manually make this work?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI got a new BB 9700 Bold yesterday and having problems with setting up the sync for the calendar and the contacts which are on my outlook. My hotmail email accounts are working okay. The outlook is on my PC and is the front face for my hotmail accounts.
When I go in to the BB Desktop device manager - version 5.0.1 (latest version) , I go in to the configure option on the left and it lets me click on calendar> then I select outlook and it then lets me select 'finish'. However at this stage an error box flashes up saying 'no available message stores'.
In addition when I check the wifi config on the calendar and contacts icons on the BB device it will not let me select yes on the wireless connection for them.
