BB Bold :: 9700 "Activation Request Failed, A Service Connection Is Unavailable"
May 3, 2011I am using the blackberry bold 9700,i updated my software and it wiped out my phone,on re-installing all the software's,whatsapp,facebook etc works fine but for some reason my BBM wouldnt work at all,i tried activating my e-mail account(Enterprise Activation) but i keep getting this "Activation request failed. A service connection is unavailable".

May 14, 2010We're running BB Pro Software, version 4.1.4.17 in an exchange environment. We've been using 8900 handsets in the UK, over Vodafone for some time, and tyey work great... ...but now we have a new user who's bought a 9700, again over Vodafone, but this time in Germany. When he attempts to use enterprise activation he (eventually) receives "enterprise server has not responded to your activation request"
We've checked that his data plan is compatible with BES. So - how do we get this working? Do I need to upgrade to BES Express 5.0?

Dec 2, 2012I upgraded google talk but after rebooting my BB bold 9780 doesn't detect media card and show me the message "A Media card has been inserted that contains errors. Do you wish to repair the Media card now? " and when I click on yes then it shows me the message "Media Card repair failed". I checked my media card in another device is working. I also tried one another media card in my BB bold 9780 which didn't work too.

Apr 11, 2010I was wondering how to resolve an issue I've been having with my Bold 9700. I'm placing it in this forum since it doesn't appear to be a model specific issue. When a geolocation request is made (BB Maps, GPS settings in options, etc) the device tries to use aGPS first. When it does I get messages in the device log saying it tried various transports (BIS,WAP,WIFI,TCP) and they all failed. It seems to be failing due to a dns issue. I've tried using it on my home wifi to rule out blocking of the DNS by my carrier (AT&T) and it still has the same issue. The device is on BESX with an IT Policy that is set to allow most everything and BIS.
The specific log entries are:
Geolocation START
Geolocation - Transport failed: BIS
Geolocation - Transport failed: MDS
Geolocation - Transport failed: WLAN
Geolocation - Insufficient Coverage
Then it cycles through a few times:
net.rim.udp open
net.rim.dns DnsQ 2
net.rim.dns DnsQ 2
net.rim.dns - RefQ (which I think means the query was refused)
net.rim.tunnel - Clos-wap.cingular
Until it gets to:
net.rim.dns - MaxQ
net.rim.tcp - DNSx -1
Geolocation - Transport failed: TCP
Geolocation - FAILURE: All transports failed
I've taken out some log entries that didn't seem to be significant (tunnel opening, etc). GPS works fine after this fails but I'd like to be able to get a fix when indoors or in low coverage which doesn't seem to happen unless I use a 3rd part app that has it's own aGPS data.

Aug 6, 2015A friend gave me his nexus 5 because it have a problem, one day the phone was stuck on boot screen (the flying balls of lollipop) and to add difficulty (can't be easy right?) windows doesn't recognize the phone but it recognize my nexus 5 with the same cable on the same usb port....
I get a "Device Descriptor Request Failed"(the usb port on the nexus seems to be ok) but my nexus get none ... Is it a hardware issue ? I heard that there is issues with nexus 5's motherboard...
I can enter the fastboot and recovery but after a wipe, still stuck..... Not rooted and booloader locked....

Aug 3, 2010I recently bought a blackberry bold 9700 from my friend and it is unlocked to any network sim but is originally from Vodafone, I have also just went onto a new contract deal with virgin which includes unlimited internet access but my problem is that the blackberry messenger will not work, I've contacted my service provider and they said they cant do anything because the phone is not originally from them. BB Bold 9700 :: Excessive Call Failed Error - Gives A 'call Failed' Message
Jul 21, 2010Just wondering if your bold drops calls as frequently as mine does. it seems that sometimes the phone decides to act up and gives me a 'call failed' message whenever i try to make a phone call. I always check how many bars i have and its usually at 4 or 5. sometimes a battery pull fixes this, but other times, the problem is persistent. my old bold 9000 had the same problem, so i'm not sure if it's at&t or blackberries in general.
