BB Bold 9000 :: USB Connection Make Computer Freeze - Reboot Windows 7
Jun 29, 2010
I connect the blackberry to my laptop (lenovo T400) via USB, then the phone asks me to choose mass storage or not. if I choose mass storage the laptop freezes immediately + black screen and then reboot. it happens no matter if I launch desktop manager or not...
When I use desktop manager, if I DO NOT choose mass storage, then it works till I click on media and sync media, the roxio software launches and then it crashes again with exactly the same symptom as describe above.....
I have blackberry bold 9000 for 10 months, and it went well. Today, it froze and won't turn on. I tried to remove and re-place the battery, it didn't work, the red LED light didn't blink at all. I replace it with the fully charged battery, and it still won't turn on. I tried to plug it with wall charger, and it still blank, as if it dead. what should I do?
I have the .464, and everything was smooth, i have 35mb memory after rebooting, and the only apps i have is berryweather...today i havent done anything on the phone but he started to reboot himself...one time he reboot himself continuasly 4 times !is this normal?now after recivieng an email he did a reboot again....what can i do ?
When I put my bold on charge it almost instantly reboots itself. Sometimes it will be reboot itself again and again whilst still booting up. This can happens 5 or 6 times in a row. When not on charge my phone is totally fine.I have been charging my phone at night and in the morning it is usually charged up (even if it does reboot constantly) however the other morning it had not charged. It also does this when I have tried to charge over USB (connected to my iPod usb mains adaptor) so it's not the charge.I'm running 22.214.171.1241.
After downloading an upgrade to Bold 9000 device received "App error 202 reset" message. Tried to reset and even removed the battery for a hard reset (about 4 times) with no success. Same error message. Any ideas anyone? Cannot reset.
This is the second BB Bold 9000 I have had this problem with.My phone will not reboot. I get the endless loop of:
red light white screen with black clock
The first time, ATT told me that I needed a new phone. Didn't cost me anything but is a pain in the **bleep** since I have no other phone and I have to walk 4 miles to find a working payphone. Had to do w/o a phone for a week.I have tried removing and reinserting the battery, to no avail. It is now 712 EDT (GMT -5). I will check back later this evening.
I'm using blackerry bold 9000.every time I reboot my phone (tried a few Alt/Shift/Deletes and a battery pull) I get the error after the security check on startup."Uncaught Exception: Java.Lang.NullPointerException" this always appears everytime i restart my phone. - the SMS and MMS icon is lost. - i cannot find my sms outbox messages.
i got problem with my bold 9000. This morning my bb suddently hang and i tried few times take out the battery but when the phone reboot, it still stuck at date and time popup. ('please confirm current date and time')
I've change to another battery also but still not working.Plan to re-install the OS but when connect to pc, my windows dont even detect the bb.
I have been going through this forum for a while and have tried all of the fixes that I can find to no avail. I have a brand new Windows 7 64-bit machine, that never had the Desktop Manager installed. I have installed version 5.01 off of the web site. Windows is able to see the Blackberry in the Device Manager just fine and I can also see the internal storage available under My Computer and I can access all folders. The Virtual Ports (COM3 and COM4) are also available in Device Manager.
I went through and followed the clean uninstall and reinstall instructions and various other suggestions that I have already seen. For whatever reason, the Desktop Manager still won't see the BB. When going into Options in the Desktop Manager, it shows that USB is selected but still nothing under PIN.I am connected to the straight USB port on the back of the computer and have tried several there.
I upgraded my bold 9000 to os 5.0.0 last night and it is now in constant reboot cycle. I let it do all it needed to do whilst connected to pc blah blah blah and it now it just reboots all the time. Gets past the loading bar and then goes to the vodafone screen, then screen turns black, red light comes on, over and over and over again. However, when I plug it in to either my mains charger or the pc, it will boot up OK. Any help would be appreciated as it will soon be going out the window!! Or back to the shop.
After installing 126.96.36.1992 update, I did a reboot (alt+right shift+del).Usually, the Bold take about 3mins to reboot, however, it only took about 20 seconds. I saw the Blackberry status bar flash for only a second.I felt the phone did not really reboot. I was also noticing some funny errors when accessing pics or ringtones.I checked the memory and saw the Device Memory as "device memory cannot be read."
2 "fixes" I found: 1. reformat device memory 2. reboot again, either alt+shift+del or battery pull
Have you noticed this problem as well? I found another thread of this happening on .681 without much help either.. Device Memory cannot be read
I have fully wiped the Bold and reinstalled 3 times. I can reproduce the error everytime.I guess I can avoid the problem by doing a battery pull every time instead of alt+shift+del...but that's a hassle.Suggestions? Maybe this is just an inherit flaw for OS 5.0 since .681 and .822 are both showing the same symptoms.
my phone gets the spinning clock all the time....so i am trying to prevent it from as many apps from running at the same time...so apps you just can't stop.....but i noticed that "Documents To Go Files" automatically starts when i reboot my phone....i went to their site...but could not find the answer....anyway to prevent it from starting in the beg, instead of having to turn it off everytime?
I tried plugging it into a wall charger for a day, i tried leaving it unplugged for a day, i tried leaving it plugged into the wall without the battery in for a day. I do not think it is the battery or charging related. Oh, and i have 2 batteries, neither let it boot.
So, i tried all the suggestions about App loader. The PIN is not recognized UNLESS, i plug it in without a battery (after i see the charging icon with red X on the screen). If i try to continue, nothing happens until i put in the battery, which immediately removes my PIN to PIN Unknown or whatever. So, it will continue and loader will freeze at step 2, device initialization.
Anyone had this exact issue or know how to get passed this point?
For reference, i never dropped it or damaged it. Actually i haven;t been using this phone, i decided to update it, all went well. Took the battery out and left it for a couple weeks. Went back to use it and this is what i got. Oh, and I tried JL_CMNDR and nothing happens.
Like i said, no error screen, i get a red LED, it attempts to boot up, but it barely moves and then I get black screen and red LED again and it just loops this process.
* I do have the extra ATT Insurance. However, I've had it for 1.5 years and it has been externally modded to ****. I could easily change it back to stock parts, but the "sticker" is gone. 1. Would ATT let me exchange it? 2. Does it have all my info on it?
I recently did a software update on my Blackberry Bold 9000 when prompted by my desktop manager to do so. After the update the phone began running slowly. I then delete a couple applications off the phone such as Myspace and Facebook to free some memory. Then phone had to be rebooted to complete deletion. After reboot, the phone screen turned white and froze. To unfreeze I had to remove the battery. When I put the battery back in, it would not turn on anymore. Could the update have fried the phone altogether?
I just installed OS 188.8.131.522 and runnin windows XP on my computer.anyway, for some reason I can't access my 4GB memory card using windows explorer like i used to. I do have "media card support" on, "Mass Storage Mode Support" on, and "Auto enable mass storage mode when connected" on.
Is there something i am doing wrong or setting that got changed?
I just unlocked my phone and inserted my sim card inside this new phone and I can't make any calls. My old phone was a Blackberry Flip.. Does anyone know whats going on?? ppl said to update the OS or update it via the blackberry updater, but wouldn't that mess up my phone? How can I make my BB work??
There is one thing that drives me insane about my BB 9000 and that is when displaying the time it takes into count the time zone. When I travel my BB is also my clock. So when landing into an airport that is in a different time zone I have to take that into count. For example I live in CST, so landing into a EST city I have to go into my option and change the time zone from CST to EST. If I don't then I am am an hour slow.
Now I see there is an option in Options => Date/Time called "Date/Time Source". I have this selected to "Network". This doesn't seem to help. I do see that it updates based on the network but the time zone is still in effect. For example;
Time Zone: CST Time: 2:30 PM Network time: 3:30 PM
Is there a way to force the BB not to take into count time zone?
My Lumia 1520 (ATT Version) has had this reboot cycle problem for about a week now. It started a week ago when it was at 2%, died and when I tried to charge it, it started freezing and rebooting and freezing and rebooting. Originally I thought it was a power issue because it always had 2% when it restarted. I got it home to my Nokia original cord plugged into my surface pro charger and charged it and fiddled with it like turning it on airplane mode, deleting unread messages before it restarted, etc. But then recently its been doing it more and its been doing it while at 40%, 12%, etc. Even when its plugged in. It seems to get very hot every time I do this. During all of this, I have Xbox music songs I have pending download. I was going to let those finish over WiFi but it won't let me turn on WiFi. I'm wondering if the 53 pending downloads could be causing this issue but I'm not sure. I'm running the latest dev preview and cyan. I have a ton of apps and music and all that installed on my SD card.
I have a problem,BlackBerry Bold 9000 Carrier is AT&T V4.60.304(platform 184.108.40.206)
I have no connection on blackberry app World or any of the blackberry apps or my e-mail, I can use MEdia net browser to connect to the internet it works fine, I can us Wi-Fi and everything work fine. Myspace or Facebook or any apps don't work unless i use my home Wi-Fi. I talk to AT&T and they said my internet was working fine.
I had to blow away my 9780 as it was constantly locking up. Reinstalled version 6.0 Bundle 905 and everything works fine apart from an annoying message that shows to the right of the Bluetooth symbol "Connection to computer failed".This message only comes up when Bluetooth is turned on. The only Bluetooth paired device I have is my car. Prior to the re-installtion I never had this message come up. It comes up every 30 seconds or so.
I have Bold 9780 and I was join to BBM service with my Network provider (Vodafone) and I canceled the services. When I try to open any application use the internet like WhatsApp or App World it don't connect and give message to connect to wireless (I already connected) but the default browser is working well and I can open a lot of sites.
I have an Sprint iPhone 4 and a Macbook. I use a USB to Sync, charge and backup my phone. If I close the lid to my computer while the phone is plugged in to the USB port it locks up my computer. The screen goes black but I can sort of see stuff behind the black screen. I press the power button to turn it off but nothing happens (maybe I have not waited long enough) so I end up taking the battery out, pressing the power button, putting the battery back in and then powering my computer back on.
This just started happening about 2 weeks ago and nothing has changed with my phone or my computer. There is a guy on another message board who just started having the same problem. He has an iPhone 4S, Sprint, a Macbook pro but he has Snow Leopard and I am still using Leopard.
i just purchased a replacement bb bold 9000 off ebay (it's an unlocked at&t handset that i bought after my bb bold got stolen... total bummer) and it was working fine all week up until last night when it stopped being able to handle incoming and outgoing calls and texts. The internet and email functions still work which is very peculiar. also some further info, when i put my sim card into another handset (in this case a nokia e65) all my normal call functions work and when i put another sim card in the bold the same thing happens (when i try to make a call it instantly pops up with a call failed warning). another thing is the bold shows full service coverage... currently the bold about shows... v220.127.116.114 (Platform 18.104.22.168) im on australia and for some reason i cant update the os to v5
