BB Bold 9000 :: BB Bold Freeze And Then It Won't Turn On
Jan 4, 2010
I have blackberry bold 9000 for 10 months, and it went well. Today, it froze and won't turn on. I tried to remove and re-place the battery, it didn't work, the red LED light didn't blink at all. I replace it with the fully charged battery, and it still won't turn on. I tried to plug it with wall charger, and it still blank, as if it dead. what should I do?
I connect the blackberry to my laptop (lenovo T400) via USB, then the phone asks me to choose mass storage or not. if I choose mass storage the laptop freezes immediately + black screen and then reboot. it happens no matter if I launch desktop manager or not...
When I use desktop manager, if I DO NOT choose mass storage, then it works till I click on media and sync media, the roxio software launches and then it crashes again with exactly the same symptom as describe above.....
I have a Blackberry Bold 9000. This morning I took the battery out without turning it off first of all (because it was running really slow).
Since then I have been unable to turn it on at all or to get anything from it!
Does anyone know what I can do to fix this problem? I have tried to plugged it in to the charger with and without the battery in as I read that might help, but nothing has worked so far.
Why can't RIM develop a Bold 9xxx with the body of the Bold 9000 with larger memory, Trackpad, better camera? They've done it with the Tour and Curve. Plus they've got all the parts available already, just need a little engineering to fit the trackpad and everything else. C'mon RIM. We know you can do it. I'm sure you'd sell millions of them.
I know this sounds like a simple problem, but I am having a difficult time trying to turn off my alarm. The Home screen says it is set for 6AM, and sure enough, it rings at 6AM. I check the clock settings and the alarm shows that it is off. I don't recall setting it (but I know I must have), so I can't figure out how to get it reset. Ideas anyone?
so i recently bought a blackberry bold 9000 wifi was working well until a couple of weeks ago. i tried to turn it on however it doesn't i says unable to turn on wifi its greyed out and a red "x" and then nothing on the second attempt it just stays greyed out . i upgraded the software, did a battery pull, ctrl alt delete, reset, wipe, try to turn on from manage connections, nothing seems to work.
I performed a Sync using Blackberry Desktop and now the Bold 9000 is "dead". The battery was fully charged prior to the sync and the unit was working properly. Following the sync the unit display went blank and the unit will not turn on. I have removed the battery and replaced it with another known fully charged battery and I stll cannot get a system boot sequence to start. I have attempted to re-insert the sync cable and connect to the computer but the unit is still dead.I have also tried the charging cable but to no avail.
its a rogers phone wich i unlocked to use on Fido. everything was perfect untill today i decided to uptade it to the new OS 5. everything went fine and then teir was a blackpage with blackberry writen on it it had a litle load icon moving when that over it restarted and turned on i then went to the browser (btw all this and it was still pluged via USB) the next thing i see is that it has turned off it had a red light on (wich untill now still is 15min have passed) what happens is that it keeps reloading that page with the blackberry writen and the white loading line thing but wont turn on (it wont go to the clock)
since installing .411 my Bold hasn't had a single problem, apart from one. Every now and again, I will notice it light up, the screen and keyboard both turn on. After a couple of seconds, it will dim out as it would after use.
I have a windows mobile phone and before I receive a text message, that is exactly what that does, but I receive nothing when the Bold lights up? The only fix I have is to put it into bedside mode as it doesn't seem to happen when in that state....
I recently upgraded my OS from 4.6 to 5.0 and everything is going well except, I don't know why my Bold 9000's screen light will NOT turn off while it is in it's cradle charging. I must be messing up on a certain setting It used to turn off for the night while charging.
i bought a bold second hand ages ago and it was working fine until one night when i came in to find my phone switched off with 4 shortish/medium flashing red lights in a sequence, hasnt been dropped or waterdamaged and i had no apps on it and the stock os as i only need it for emails and texts. i cant get it to be recognised by the computer and i know the wire isnt faulty as i borrowed my friends 7230 wire (mini usb is the same for both models) and her 7230 and her husbands 9000 is recognised with and without the battery by my pc and hers.ive tried the following:1. battery pull - 1 long red light then the continuous four medium flashes over and over, same when i plug it into a pc (no red light or battery icon at all when plugged in without a battery)2. using desktop manager - nothing happens no device detected3. using the jl_cmder - no device detected4. using apploader by itself - no device detected/ no way to get past the usb/com port screen as the 'next' button is greyed out5. using apploader through command /nojvm - no device detected/no way to get past the usb/com port screen6. quickly switching phones with my friend when her phone is recognised without a battery and a update is prompted, it sort of works by letting me choose the os but then says no device detected
yesterday i was workin on the wifi normally but today iam tryin to turn it on it wont turn on it just go gray then it is unchecked
i've tryed the following:
remove the battery for 1 mintue called my carier to check my service " every thing is ok" downgrade the device software " when try to turn it on the bb was restarting" upgrade it again removing all apps
My blackberry 9000 bold, wont turn on, wont turn redlight on, I've bought 2 new batteries and still don't work, when I plug it to my pc, it makes a muted sound repeatedly. What can I do to make it work?
I initially charged my phone still I got 2-3 battery bar. Since its not fully charged yet I left if overnight. When I woke up it was totally dead. No signs of life. Tried taking out the battery and put it back in after few mins still wont work. Connected to it to my pc same thing, wont work. Tried to hold down the power button several still not working
So my bold hasnt been turned on in quite a while. and i charged it up and the red light would go on steady, and i tryed turning it on but it went to a white screen with a empty battery and lightning bolt. and the two screens alternate between these two. iv left the phone on charge for abour 4hours same thing.anyone got any idea whats going on?
I just received a used blackberry bold 9000. I still have not been able to turn it on, it is black with a blinking led light (which only shows when plugged in to either the wall charger or USB). It blinks once (red) and then three times very quickly. I can not wipe the hardware because my computer does not recognize the device. Is there anyway to fix this? I do not want to return it if I can easily fix it.
i have the blackberry 9000 bold.my phone last night died and since then i have been charging it.but the red light keeps flashing and thats it, wont turn on. i pulled the battery out a few times but still no help just the red light and thats it
I have a BB Bold 9000, and it was working fine, i even updated and it worked great for months.and then last week when i tried to turn on the wifi to search for a network the phone got frozen for a few seconds and restarted it self continuously, like 4 times in a row. since then Im unable to turn the wifi on. bluetooth and service provider are working fine. Just wifi is causing troubles.I even tried to restore it to default settings using the lastest BB desktop software and no results.
I am having the same issue as covered in lots of threads before. when i try to turn my phone on (pluged in to the wall charger) it just shows the red led for about 10 seconds and switched to white screen with battery thunder bolt symbol in the middle for abotu 10 seconds and then it repeats over and over again. but my phone does something ive never seen talked abotu on here.
When my red led is on the phone is making this weird noise. kinda sounds like fan comin from the phone. and itll only make the noise on the second time around. any suggestion on the noise and what i can do???? i have gotten a new battery, tried the battery pull, and ive waited 2 days and tried again no luck.
my friend was trying to charge his bold and it was charging but then he got the white screen with the loading clock in the middle, then it shut off and it wont turn back on whatsoever..
I get the above error message when I try to change the alarm time and click on the clock icon. Could someone please tell me how to fix the problem? At the moment I can't change the alarm time or turn it off as I can't get into the application.
I got dis phone off of ebay last friday. the phone was working fine until today. So this is wat happened i went to take my phone out the case cuz it was vibrating wen i pull it out it slipps out of my hand nd falls on the floor the backpiece came out the batterry came out. so it put everything bak in its place and the phone does not want to turn on. there is no light no anything i have it plugged to the charger but there is no responce. wat should i do?
basically my blackberry 9000 was charging and whilst charging i took out the battery. the fone screen stayed on but frozen. then wen i removed the charger it has been dead ever since. no response nothing, no led lights wont turn on, wont charge absolutely nothing! is there any hope or is my blackberry dead forever?
Phone turned itself off.Tryed plugging it into a wall charger and laptop usb cable to charge, but each time the red time stay constant for about a minute and then it changes to flashing four times quickly then a short pause and then flashing four times again (and it just repeats this over and over again.)
I was in the middle of sending a text messege, my phone was fully charged and had lots of life, when it froze up. I couldnt do anything, waited about 5 minuites and still frozen so i did a battery pull. When i popped the battery back in....nothing. No red led what so ever.|Ive tried charging on the wall and the usb on the computer (computer doesnt pick up the device)Ive removed the sim card and put it back.Tried fiddling with the little round battery in the back compartment as i had seen in another post.Plugged the phone into the wall with out the battery....and still absolutly no sign of life
My 9000 will not turn on. The red indicator light comes on and stays on for approx 1 minute. The screen then switches to white battery with a red "X" through it. I have tried other batteries that were verified to be good with the same results. I have tried other wall chagers with the same results.
I have repeatedly left the phone on charge for several hours, removed the battery and replaced it after a few moments with the same results.
This issue started after the battery became very depleted after leaving the phone on bedside mode overnight. The phone had been operating without any issues up until this point. It is approx 2 1/2 years old.
All my contacts are on the phone and have not been backed up or saved on the sim card.
Quick question. I am starting a new Job and they are getting me a superbasic Perl. I need this for work and so I will be forking some dough out of my pocket to get one of the two following phones: Bold 9000 (I'll pay 100$ Canadian, not Us) Curve 8530 (pay 24.99$ Canadian). I am very used to the Iphone and HTC Touch Pro 2 (not trying to start a flaming/argument/anything else , its just what i'm used to). I am very used to browsing with the other phones and I have heard that BB phones are not up to par, so my expectations will be low. Out of the two phones however, does one perform better than the other (Curve 8530 vs Bold 9000)? Out of the two phones, which one do you recommend overall. I have read that the Bold 9000 even though it is older, it still outperforms the 8530...
I dropped my BlackBerry Bold 9000 on the weekend and damaged the LCD screen. The device still works, but two thirds of the LCD is now white and there's what looks like an inkblot on the left side of the screen. I'd like to try to fix it, but don't really want to shell out a lot of $ to do so --- I'm a month away from upgrading.Does anyone have any suggestions, or perhaps a dead BlackBerry with a working screen that you're willing to part with? A DIY repair -- this is out of warranty anyway -- looks straightforward, but I'm not sure I want to spend the $100 or so for a new OEM part to replace the LCD screen.
