BB Bold 9000 :: BB Messenger Notification Icon Stays On
Jan 21, 2010
While upgrading to the latest version of my BB messenger I had two unread messages. I didn't read these messages and completed the upgrade. Ever since then I have had the notification icon displaying the number 2 with the bb icon on my front screen. So now when I have two new messages it shows 4 and after reading the two it continues to display the two messages that don't exist.
Trying to sort out my bosses Blackberry. IT don't know much about them...!
Its a Blackberry Bold 9000 on Vodafone (NZ) OS V4.6.0.247
Right so I know a *bit* about Blackberry's (have a storm...) so I seem to be the go to for a lot of the bosses. As with most work phones, every other application has been deleted off it, eg bluetooth, instant messaging etc. The problem is that the Blackberry Messenger Message button (blue double B) is still appearing on his home screen, even though Instant Chat has been deleted.
My 9000 will not turn on. The red indicator light comes on and stays on for approx 1 minute. The screen then switches to white battery with a red "X" through it. I have tried other batteries that were verified to be good with the same results. I have tried other wall chagers with the same results.
I have repeatedly left the phone on charge for several hours, removed the battery and replaced it after a few moments with the same results.
This issue started after the battery became very depleted after leaving the phone on bedside mode overnight. The phone had been operating without any issues up until this point. It is approx 2 1/2 years old.
All my contacts are on the phone and have not been backed up or saved on the sim card.
I have connected my BB Bold to my wi-fi But i am not able to use my BB Messenger or any other BB applications which use Data plans. any workaround available?
I have cleared my e-mail in box, but can not get the e-mail icon on the top bar of the main screen to go away. It is still showing 1 e-mail, but there are none in my box. I turned it on and off and rebooted, but it is still there, showing 1 e-mail, but there are none. Is there a hidden e-mail somewhere I am missing. Also had a few random reboots. Brand new 9650 from Verizon.
The New Message icon stays up on my homescreen even after I have deleted all of my messages. Its very annoying because I know there isn't a new message and its an error. how to get rid of this icon?
From 5 days now, I can't use yahoo messenger. I have a Bold 9000 and when I'm sending messenger to computer PC / MAC the person doesn't receive, on other telephones it does. I have friends with other models of blackberry and they have the same problem. Do you have a solution? I delete the application, I update... It's still working yahoo messenger on blackberry or not?
I just got my new Blackberry Bold 9000 and got everything migrated from my old Pearl and I have everything working good except the Blackberry Messenger. I upgraded it to 5.0.0.57 and all I get is the Blackberry Messenger License Agreement and it will not allow me to click on either button, ``I Accept``or ``Ì Do Not Accept`` .Is there something I`m missing or what.... This is very frustrating as it is my only way of communicating while I`m working.

I noticed that my blackberry messenger notification at my home screen no longer indicates how many new messages I have. I've recently updated my BBM. I tried to reboot it twice but it's still the same and my friends are not experiecing this.
I've had my BlackBerry Bold 9700 for more than 3 months.Lately, the icon's been getting stuck on my Main Screen. So, I always ended up uninstalling and reinstalling, and the problem would always get fixed
But last time I did that, my BlackBerry Messenger disappeared I tried everything!
I looked through every single folder, ticked Show All, but nothing I also went to Explore, showed hidden files, there was nothing I tried rebooting, deleting and reinstalling, also nothing I also went on Desktop Manager, checked the Application Loader, and it's there, it's ticked I checked Options > Applications > Add-on, and I can see that the BlackBerry Messenger is installed (Research In Motion Limited, version 5.0.1.38) My Device Software is updated, and when I check for updates, it says no updates available I tried Security Wipe, but it's still not there I tried to backup and restore as well, but nothing's changed What am I missing?Do I have to downgrade?
so this morning my blackberry mssenger icon dissapeared tried rebooting phone but still no luck ...if someone sends me a bb message it shows delivered on there bb , but i dont get any messages ?
I am unable to access the Blackberry messenger. Clicking on the BBM icon doesnt work at all. I have tried rebooting the system, reinstalling the BBM, switching it off and on, but nothing works.
please help i have a bold 9700 and have the latest blackberry messenger on the phone. one day i turned it on and the icon at the top of the screen showed i had a new message. after looking everywhere there is no message to be found. after numerous battery pulls and resets the icon is still there. i even brought to ATT today and there reps couldn't help me.
My BBM icon disappeared when I upgraded the version to 5.0.1.38. When I checked Options>Applications> Add on> Blackberry Messenger 5.0.1.38 appears. My mobile is BB 9700 v5.0.0.351
Question 1.) Is that the reason why the icon disappeared (compatibility issue)? I have read issues on forums similiar to mine but it is not successful. I downloaded the BBM again and again; reboot the phone; but still it is not showing. I read something about BB device software version 6.0 (only one showi on the website). I am downloading it now,
(Question 2.) Will that help? (Question 3.) if YES, How will i do it? Procedures pls.. (Question 4.) Are (BBM version, BB9700 version, BB Device Software) compatible?
Is there a way to make some sort of LED notification when an SMS or MMS message is received (and unread yet) - to make it blink blue or some such thing to indicate that I have a missed SMS/text message?
For some reason I can't get rid of my voicemail notification symbol on my BlackBerry Bold 9000. I have checked my voicemail box and I have no messages in there, yet the symbol is still there.
I have a Bold 9000 that keeps going to contacts no matter what icon I click on.I tried upgrading the OS and the phone worked fine for about an hour and then went straight back to only going to contacts. The same thing happens when I downgrade.I am unable to make calls or do anything from the contacts list. The phone is basically unusable.
I have tried the upgrade and battery pull and restore from back up.Does anyone have any suggestions of what this could be and how to fix it.
Does anyone know how to permanately remove the Twitter icon off the Bold 1? I updated my girl's phone and this icon appeared. I used the "hide" feature, but she hates Twitter and wants it removed.
so after updated I have been having a few brain scratchers going on, and this is the latest.the little 4 square symbol next to 3G that is ALWAYS on for me, has now disappeared but i am still able to send emails and BBM (which I shouldnt be if the symbol is not there).how is this possible?? is anyone else noticing this? im so confused and getting a bit irritated with the release...
So obviously my text message icon is gone, i tried "show all" and going into message options and changed email/sms to seperate. But it hasent done anything! Ive changed my themese changed between theme controlled and seperate, and still nothing, i did show all atleast 10 times and it still hasent shown up.
I have an unread message icon with a little red circle on my screen. Tried pulling the battery. Have checked all my messages and folders. There are no unread messages. Even updated my Blackberry Desktop.
I cannot find my BBM icon, it's not on my screen. I've downloaded the programme a few times and the icon still does not apper, although every time I download the programme it tells me that I already have BBM.....where's the Icon gone?
I have updated my BB with different version os OS. For some reason i cant see the WIFI option under "Manage Connections", only bluetooth and Mobile network. I removed the battery and didnt work.
I currently have the Bold 9000 and I have the BB Maps already downloaded, but there seems to be no icon visible and I tried searchign through my phone and still cannot find it. Also my provider is AT&T.
Just upgraded (?) to os 5.0.0.771, Bold 9000 on Telstra Australia. This update was offered via an email from RIM.The "Tasks" icon has now gone, and I cannot synch my tasks with Outlook.Any ideas how I can get the "Tasks" back, or should I try again to re-install the update?
I don't know if this has anything to do with the recent BIS 3.0 update, but my E-Mail Setup Icon disappeared. I know it was there earlier today since I went in to see if there were any BIS 3.0 changes (I didn't see any). Now it's gone.I still have all my e-mail accounts set up and they appear to be working fine, but the setup icon is gone.Has anyone else noticed this issue? Is there something going on with BIS? Perhaps an upgrade rollout?
After looking thru all of the manuals and comparing icons I cannot find what the gold icon at the top which looks like the Internet is tell me. We spent an hour on the phone to AT&T support with no help. The icon is gold round with gridlines as latitude and longitude. The number "1" is beside it. It is at the top to the right of the email icon. I have a screen capture of it.
I have an unusual icon appeared on my homescreen for the first time, and I don't know how to clear it. My email icon, which is a transparent envelope, now has a small orange envelope inside it. I have no emails waiting, in fact I have cleared the inbox to be sure. I have consulted the icons PDF doc on the BB site but that doesn't list it. I have tried a re-boot.
