Jun 29, 2014I have iPhone 5 with iOS 6.0. Out of sudden, Maps nolonger show street names, everything else works fine. I tried shutoff myphonealready. How to fix it.

I have checked and language strings are set to English US for voice output.

Nokia :: 5800 XM / Ovi Maps 3.03 / Larger Fonts For Street Names
Mar 16, 2010I have a 5800 XM with Ovi Maps v 3.03. Is it possible to make the street names larger in size? The street names are only 1 milimeter in height in both 2D and 3D view, regardless of zoom level. I am aware there is the street name you are currently on in the center top section in a larger font size, which definitely helps, but it would be nice to have the larger fonts for surrounding streets.Also, is there a way to get rid of the white bar on the right side that houses the "search" and "menu" links? The 5800's screen is already small for GPS standards, and this white bar subtracts almost 1 cm of valuable screen real-estate. It would be nice to not have the white bar and have the "search" and "menu" links stay where they are, but perhaps have a white highlight around the letters or something like that.

For me it just says "Turn right in 1 mile" .. no street name! It would be very helpful if this feature was included. Dec 28, 2012I've tried many navigation applications and Nokia Drive holds up rather well. But one area I noticed it seems off compared to many others is it seems to favor or use unknown names compared to other apps. It often calls out street names that are not marked as such.
For instance in Florida it seems to be calling I-95 SR 9. After a little research I found the SR 9 is a hidden designation that isn't marked by any road signs.

May 18, 2010I just bought a Nokia 5230. I used the Nokia Ovi Suite to upload one additional voice to the phone: Finnish with street names (Suomi katujen nimill). The upload was successful ( I even checked the memory card). However this voice option is not available on the phone in the Ovi Maps Settings (not for walking or driving).

Jan 22, 2010i just dowloaded ovi maps 3.0 on my 5230 and it works fine. but i'm in iceland and i thought that there was supposed to be street maps of iceland in there somewhere.in the ad from ovi on Internet f.x. they show a map of countries that have been mapped and iceland is on that map but i just can't find it. all i can see is names of towns and cities and the main roud around iceland but no more than that. but when i navigate to london f.x. i get all the streets and street names.(and yes i know iceland isn't that big so i should not get lost but gps can come in handy here like anywhere else)

Sep 2, 2014Phone, FaceTime and Find My Friends in iOS show full names of your contacts. I cannot find a setting to show nicknames instead. You can show nicknames instead of full names in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Short Name > Prefer Nicknames only for Messages, but not for Phone, FaceTime and Find My Friends. I know editing the contacts would do the job. But it would be very dodgy as nobody's first or last name is 'Mum', 'Uncle Bob' or 'Shaggy'. Is there a way to show nicknames instead of full names in Phone, FaceTime and Find My Friends?

Galaxy S5 :: Can Get It To Show File Names
Mar 31, 2015I've had my Galaxy S5 since a year ago in May. I do martial arts and a great learning aid is to have videos of my forms on my phone, and when I'm waiting somewhere, watch the videos. The problem I'm having, is that I use Airdroid to upload the videos from my PC to the S5 and put them in the Movies folder, which makes them available in Gallery on my phone. BUT the Gallery app ( is it an app? ) doesn't show file names. So I may have Kata 1,2,3,4 and 5, for example, but all I see are videos there, it doesn't show me which one is Kata 1, etc.Is there a setting that can fix this, or do I need some other kind of App for seeing my photos & videos, that WILL show file names?

It shows just the number.It doesn't show any name, I tried it with 10+ different people, both calling and texting. I have no duplicates in my address-book. I didn't add anything in the last 3 days. Yesterday everything worked just fine. I have no '(unnamed)' entries in my address-book either. No empty entries either. I didn't sync my phone with my pc (via Nokia PC Suite) since last week.

Also, I get a new text and it will not open unless I go and open the one before it, close it and then open the new one. Is this something only my Bold is doing? I did a search and did not come up with much. Any help would be great. It is not a huge deal and I have been dealing with it for some time but it is lame. Oh, it is not only my daughter who is also a Tmo customer but a friend on Sprint is also coming up as a number and not her name.

Aug 23, 2011after I updated my Nokia E6 to the recent software, it doesnt show the callers names when receiving a call and when receiving an sms. I have to save the same number twice, once with international prefix example +963 (thats for my home country) and once without. When receiving calls it show the name only if saved without the prefix (unless its an international call) and when receiving sms it shows the name only when its saved with the international prefix. I didnt have that problem before the update!

1) I download a particular maps using OVI suite. Next time when I connect my device, it does not show the installed maps.
2) There is no way to see if update to downloaded maps are available.
3) Message sync is a bit wierd. Why are there still message on OVI suite that I already deleted on my phone.
4) When I read a message using OVI suite, the indicator light on E72 still flashes.
