Feb 15, 2011Is there any way to display street addresses on Blackberry Maps? I know it recognizes them as I have searched adresses and it found them.

Nokia :: Street Maps For E72
May 13, 2010Whenever i try to use the Map i only get a red dot as my position locator. And only the main roads in the map. Also it only shows area. But no street maps. I tried navigating other SEA countries and the streets appear. (I tried navigating Bangkok and it shows even the smallest streets).

Jan 22, 2010i just dowloaded ovi maps 3.0 on my 5230 and it works fine. but i'm in iceland and i thought that there was supposed to be street maps of iceland in there somewhere.in the ad from ovi on Internet f.x. they show a map of countries that have been mapped and iceland is on that map but i just can't find it. all i can see is names of towns and cities and the main roud around iceland but no more than that. but when i navigate to london f.x. i get all the streets and street names.(and yes i know iceland isn't that big so i should not get lost but gps can come in handy here like anywhere else)

Nokia :: 5800 XM / Ovi Maps 3.03 / Larger Fonts For Street Names
Mar 16, 2010I have a 5800 XM with Ovi Maps v 3.03. Is it possible to make the street names larger in size? The street names are only 1 milimeter in height in both 2D and 3D view, regardless of zoom level. I am aware there is the street name you are currently on in the center top section in a larger font size, which definitely helps, but it would be nice to have the larger fonts for surrounding streets.Also, is there a way to get rid of the white bar on the right side that houses the "search" and "menu" links? The 5800's screen is already small for GPS standards, and this white bar subtracts almost 1 cm of valuable screen real-estate. It would be nice to not have the white bar and have the "search" and "menu" links stay where they are, but perhaps have a white highlight around the letters or something like that.

For me it just says "Turn right in 1 mile" .. no street name! It would be very helpful if this feature was included. Am I missing something on how to enable text to speech so that it speaks street names?

If i try and find a direction to say a friends house, Via the address in my contacts the search result either shows nothing at all OR another address with a totally different post code in a different location!
The only way i can get directions is if i type in the name of town on it's own.And it doesn't always find that! In the search facility.It gives an example:10 downing st london uk. And it finds and gives directions fine! But if i for example type in 'buckingham palace london uk' nothing!!
Am i expecting too much? or should i get directions to an address as long as i supply house no,street name, town and postcode! Surely this is how gps is supposed to work.
this was one of the main reasons i bought my BB phone (apart from UMA which i am also struggling with.) Phone is a curve 8900 btw. And i am on Orange.

Nokia :: 5800MX Maps Application - Only have 9 Icons On Maps Display Page Instead Of 10
May 3, 2010I have finally moved into the 21st Century and have had my 5800MX for about a month now.Type RM-356 Firmware Version 50.0.00.5
I have a problem with my Maps Application. Firstly I only have 9 icons on the Maps display page instead of the 10 that is shown on the Nokia website, I have found I do not have the Michelin guides........any ideas why?
I cannot download the Here and Now 2.0, it states that the Installation failed and have tried many times to reinstall it. Does this have anything to do with the missing Michelin Guide icon not being there?

Jan 6, 2013I am using Nokia Drive and Maps on Lumia 710. Say I want to go to a school in a particular area. I need to search for the name of that school and only then set my location. If I try to zoom in to that area on the map, I do not see the school or other places of interest/businesses in that area. This is irritating as in google maps, if I zoom into a location, I get all the businesses/areas on interest in that area. Am I missing something?. If not, then nokia maps needs to have this feature as it is very useful.

Aug 22, 2014I have a home automation system that uses my phone's location to identify if I am home. But the problem is when I start using my ps4 (and when it is standby). My phone thinks I am about a block away, it always returns to my actual location, but ever 10-20 minutes it jumps back to that wrong location. This issue only comes up when my PS4 is plugged in and on or in standby. This is causing the home system to think i went away for a couple of minutes, arming my home.Â

Oct 19, 2011I have a C5-00 5MP and I downloaded maps for walking ("with street names"). But Ovi Maps seems unable to get aware of it : the menu allowing to select the walking guidance voice in settings remains empty. The voices for driving guidance are displayed OK though.

Dec 28, 2012I've tried many navigation applications and Nokia Drive holds up rather well. But one area I noticed it seems off compared to many others is it seems to favor or use unknown names compared to other apps. It often calls out street names that are not marked as such.
For instance in Florida it seems to be calling I-95 SR 9. After a little research I found the SR 9 is a hidden designation that isn't marked by any road signs.

The upload was successful ( I even checked the memory card). However this voice option is not available on the phone in the Ovi Maps Settings (not for walking or driving).

Display Units My Display Units are set to Metric. However on the MotoACTV web app when I select Workouts/Latest Workout/Workout Stats, the distance and pacing are recorded in km, but the elevation shows in ft. Jun 17, 2012My Iphone 4s was stolen 3 days ago. I managed to send it messages, lock it and make it play sounds, however I wonder if Apple knows the IP addresses from where the phone was connected to the internet everytime it performed my remote commands? I think these IPs will be usefel in locating the phone since Location Services can be off, as in my case and the phone can be off most of the time....
