On my gmail, I have another account (my school email) set up, so i can send from either address from Gmail, which allows me to avoid the crappy school email website we have..http://i33.tinypic.com/9k6q1x.jpg. On my iPhone, I can't seem to find the "From" dropbox in the Mail app, to choose which email to send from. Is it possible at all? (I'm jbroken, if it matters..)

Do you think they could have used a similar exploit to get the e-mail addresses of pre-ordered iPhone 4s and sent out that June 23 e-mail? Just a thought... It seems pretty on-track with other "trolls" they've done to groups of people.

I have a problem with creating new email. In the past when ever I would write a new email I would get list of suggested email addresses in the "To" field. For example, if I would was to write the letter S I would get the email address of the people in my address book whose name starts with an S (sam, Sofia etc). For some reason this feature stopped working on my phone and I can't find how to make it work again. If I want to send an email I need to manually write the email address in the "To" field. The auto suggestion feature works perfectly on my wife's phone (an E72 with the same firmware - 22.007) but on my phone it won't suggest email addresses from my contacts.
Another problem is that my Gmail that is synced to the phone, through the Nokia Messenger server is locked on "hide emails older than 2 weeks". Now, I have hundreds of emails stored on my phone that dates to February 1st - the day I got the Phone! Is there a way to delete these emails automatically, without deleting them on the Gmail account itself? It makes my phone really when going through the emails.
I recently configured my Bold 9700 with a data account and added two E-mail addresses. One being personal, and the other being my school E-mail address. After doing this, I noticed that my contacts were doubled and in some cases, tripled. Some contacts say that they are sychronized to my personal E-mail, while the duplicates say that they are sychronized to my education email address. How can I solve this problem so that the duplicates are deleted? I have several hundred contacts and it is a pain to delete them manually.

Earlier I synced Contacts, Keychain and Calender on my Mac, iPhone and MobileMe. I made sure that I selected the option to have the data on the Mac replaced. Calender and Keychain synced correctly, however, Contacts on MobileMe and iPhone were lost and replaced with the Contacts on my Mac - which were none. I have no idea why this happened and I have no back up because I to do an erase and install of Leopard today. It isn't such a disaster as I have most of the contacts saved in other ways. is there any way I can copy or transfer the email addresses in my Mail App to the Contacts App? It is easy to do on received emails, but I can't figure out how to get the 'saved' email address to come up with the option to Create A New or Add To An Existing Contact.

Is there anything like custom ringtones for different email addresses? Some email accounts I've got set up on my phone (3GS, 3.1.2) get emails that there is no real urgency about; I'll look at the when I have time. Others I'd like to look at as soon as they arrive. A different sound for each account would help with this.

Has a solution been found which will allow clearing the cached email address entries on an iproduct? Deleting contacts, addresses and rebooting the device doesn't work. My wife's iPhone appears to be attempting to ping various IP addresses around theworld. When I check our router firewall logs, I see multiple entries similar to this one:Blocked outgoing ICMP packet (ICMP type 3) from 192.168.0.100 to 166.147.95.129 192.168.0.100 is the DHCP address assigned by our router to her iPhone, which I verified by comparing her iPhone's WiFi MAC address against the MAC address listed for that IP address in our router's log.I also made really sure by watching a "ping -t 192.168.0.100" command in a command prompt window change from getting responses to timing out when I turned off her phone, and then start getting responses again after I powered it back on).The IP addresses her phone is pinging are all over the world. 166.147.95.129 resolves to mobile-166-147-095-129.mycingular.net in the USA, but I've also seen addresses in Russia, Canada, Bangladesh, and a couple of addresses in South America.The pinging appears to be really bursty, because it generally doesn't occur for minutes at a time, but then I'll see several pings in short succession.I have an iPhone as well, but mine doesn't appear to be doing anything similar. In the last week, I began receiving text messages from my friends that are being sent from their "gmail" address. Therefore, it seems to replace the other contact that I had in the phone.

This account as now been deleted off my iPhone and the login credentials long forgotten.
Now under my new iCloud and new gmail account (which I created in lieu of my previous gmail), I get the email addresses that I no longer want or use that I sent from my previous and now-deleted account, popping up in my auto-fill as soon as I start to type a few characters in the "To" box.
