Xperia Mini/pro :: Screen Lag While Auto Rotation?
Jul 2, 2012
i recently updated my xperia mini pro to ICS. Now i am facing screen lag while auto rotation. can some one please tell me how to fix it. secondly, how can i revert back to android 2.3 GB?
I own a z3. Its one month old. I have felt at many occasions that the screen auto rotation isn't working as it is supposed to. Many I times I need to re rotate the phone to get correct orientation.
Today i downloaded the update to Android 5.1.1 and now the automatic screen rotation on my xperia z3 does not work, in both, the "normal" and the safety mode. In my settings the automatic screen rotation is activated. What is the reason could be and how i can fix it?
Sometimes I like to read a book on my phone while laying on my side, but the text keeps turning vertical. I could not find a way in IOS 4.2.1 on an iPhone 3G to turn off the auto screen rotation. Do the newer phones and/or IOS's have this capability?
I have noticed that my screen rotation no longer works on my Atrix. The phone still detects the correct orientation (AndroSensor app's 'Orientation' degrees change correctly as I rotate the phone). Games that rely on the accelerometer still function normally. The operating system just seems to do nothing when I rotate. Browser doesn't go to landscape, and other apps that normally can switch to landscape, just don't. The setting to Auto-rotate is checked.I have pulled the battery, I have rebooted, I have tried changing settings, rebooting, changing them again, but I can't get it to work as it did a few days ago. Searching this sort of problem online seems to come up with similar issues with other people across a myriad of different Android devices, yet no one really has any solution on how to fix besides doing a 'factory reset'. A factory reset doesn't seem to be a good fix for this to me.
The closest reasonable explanation I can come up with is that with the added Motorola software, there might possibly be another 'rotation' setting behind the scenes that we can't access that got out of sync with the normal Android rotation settings (read on how this might be an explanation for the problem on Samsung phones), but who knows what is really going on. Very annoying though, since the phone sensors appear to be working properly. I can't even write a simple text message in landscape mode because of this, making it frustratingly difficult with the small on-screen keys on the regular mode.
Issue is that the phone will get in a mode sometimes where it just continues to reboot. It gets to a point that I can use the phone, but within a few minutes, it crashes and boots up again. Usually pulling the battery fixes it, but not always. A similar issue is the screen going blank. Not sure it's crashed or just a video issue, but the only way to get it back on is to pull the batteryAlso, as the unit is stuck at 2.1 for ever, so can not use the memory card to install apps, and can't uninstall the old apps, is there a recommended minimum of available phone memory? That is, for example, always make sure you have at least 35MB. Any more than 50MB won't make a difference to performance or stability
The sony ericsson xperia mini st15i was really a pocket sized monster but pls sony put up an option to turn off the brightness auto adjusting.. everything was good and i can even say perfect just that that brightness sensor ****** me off because at places with low lighting, the screen flickers because of the brightness auto adjust...
My xperia z2 phone does not rotate the screen when held in upside down position. In other words, it does not rotate the screen 180 degrees from a normal up position. 90 degrees either side rotation is okay. This happens in the safe mode as well. Is that a bug or a feature? Is there a remedy?
1) rotating from landscape to portrait mode works fine (but sluggish) as long as you rotate the phone to your left, but it doesnt work if you rotate it to the right or upside down, is this hardware or software related?
2) in the same topic why is it so sluggish to rotate from Landscape to Portrait? (again is it SW or HW related)
Since the Lolliopop update, change the orientation from horizontal to vertical (or vice versa) often results in the no screen rotation i find I have rotate the device at least 180 degrees before it detects anything
So my accelerometer/gyroscope stopped working since I dropped my phone. I tried to calibrate it but without luck. I think it might be broken, can it be replaced?
Here's a video of testing the sensors - [URL] .....
When I rotate my phone, it takes 1-2 seconds for screen to rotate. The os is android 4. When I am using phone in a wifi area, the wifi icon in the phone screen shows that the wifi connection is not stable, and periodically moves from low to high. Note that the wifi source is near me. Is this a phone problem and minus for Xperia ray and Sony?
Is any one having sensor problems as i am? I updated my device to v.40 and now my auto rotation sensor only works when it feels like it. I've tried restarting the device, even switching off the sensors but it takes several frustrating attempts before it starts working again. Nokia had better do something about this in their next firmware.
On the Sony build of Android 4.0.4 (all Builds!) on a German "SK17i", the settings for turning off the auto-correction for punctuation is plainly ignored. That is: "Automatical Upper- Lower case" is UNchecked, "automatical replacement" is UNchecked and also in the XPERIA keyboard setting I changed the word suggestions to "never help with typing, do not suggest".And STILL, every time there is a full stop the phone starts the next word at upper case (also at places like "e.g."). If I hit upper case at the beginning of a sentence or after an abreviation, as I am used to with a QWERTZ keyboard, it switches to CAPSLOCK FOR ALL FOLLOWING words in that textbox. It is not even consistent in doing so: when entering a title for an appointment, the phone "Upper Cases" Every Word There Is And Switches To CAPSLOCK When Pressing Shift One Time Regardless Of The Punctuation. It is so annoying I sometimes want to smack the phone to the wall and grab my old Palm Pre which just works like it should, that is like a regular keyboard.I consider this to be a serious bug as the software is clearly IGNORING the system settings.
If I use the carholder, the phone is holding in a landscape position but the display on the screen doesn't swap automatically in landscape! (for example if I use maps)
This only happens on my phone when I use the slide qwerty keyboard. But that is impossible in the carholder.
So, is there any way to swap (manual or setup something?) the display in landscape position without use the slide qwerty keyboard?
If the x10 mini has a auto reject function anywhere or any apps to download, been receiving nuisance calls at all times of the day and would really like to stop receiving them.
recently I have experience this problem, I have downloaded some application from Market, it's already 100% but it's not installed on my phone, when I click on it, still said downloading, even it's already 100% and I have been waiting 1 hours, is there any way to resuming download manually? If I press cancel download, it will start from 0 and will happen again, getting tired with this :'( but this is not always happen to all application, mostly big size application.
My old iPod has the headphone jack at the top and always seems like it's in the right place for whatever I do with it. Our iPad Air 2 does too, and also allows 360' or rotation if we need a different position. I have always hated the fact that LG put the headphone jack at the bottom of the G4, and no 360" rotation...what's a good, basic, screen rotation app? I find the stock Android rotation works fine, just would like the screen to display with the bottom on top.
my n86 screen rotates when i turn my cell right can anyone tell me how can i turn that option off? i tried but coudnt succeed, how to get a reply, thanks in advance
I've seen this at the Galaxy S6 Edge forum. But no-one seems to have a 'normal' S6 128GB with the same problem except me (so far).
What I've done so far: -Checked that the button for Screen Rotation was ON -Safe mode to see if a third party app was interfering with the programming -Factory reset
None worked, my screen still won't rotate. It's stuck in portrait mode. I opened up the package with my phone this morning. It worked fine in the beginning. But no longer.
