Since the Lolliopop update, change the orientation from horizontal to vertical (or vice versa) often results in the no screen rotation i find I have rotate the device at least 180 degrees before it detects anything

In other words, it does not rotate the screen 180 degrees from a normal up position. 90 degrees either side rotation is okay. This happens in the safe mode as well. Is that a bug or a feature? Open camera app, the screen is always oriented downwards. It will not take portrait pictures at all - it simply doesn't rotate to portrait orientation.
Open any games, they will only be oriented downwards also.
The accelerometer is functional - tested with a game "extreme car driving" that lets you control steering by phone tilt - worked fine.
However, even that game automatically instantly re-orients itself upside down when you open it.
Screen rotation is toggled on. I have tried with it off, no difference.
Have rebooted several times. Have turned phone off and left it off for an hour, turned back on. Have not tried a factory reset yet... not particularly keen on doing it but I guess that is my next step. Did a factory reset. Didn't work.

My Xperia Z3+ is not working properly.The touchscreen works at random on its own and most of times won't work especially on the corner ends both bottom and up...Plus when I try to slide the it doesn't work either.Continues even after removing all the covers and cleaning and so on..

And NO, it is not locked. Photos, books, webpages and email will rotate 90 degrees in either direction - meaning they'll go from portrait to landscape, but will not go all the way around 180 degrees. Homescreen will not rotate and none of the apps will rotate. I've tried turning it off and on several times, deleted all recently installed apps, reset all settings. I bought this phone 2 weeks ago...

On Denim, all of a sudden my screen rotation quit working several days ago. Rebooting the phone fixed it a few times but now its completely out. Yes rotation lock is off and toggling it doesn't make a difference.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have noticed that my screen rotation no longer works on my Atrix. The phone still detects the correct orientation (AndroSensor app's 'Orientation' degrees change correctly as I rotate the phone). Games that rely on the accelerometer still function normally. The operating system just seems to do nothing when I rotate. Browser doesn't go to landscape, and other apps that normally can switch to landscape, just don't. The setting to Auto-rotate is checked.I have pulled the battery, I have rebooted, I have tried changing settings, rebooting, changing them again, but I can't get it to work as it did a few days ago. Searching this sort of problem online seems to come up with similar issues with other people across a myriad of different Android devices, yet no one really has any solution on how to fix besides doing a 'factory reset'. A factory reset doesn't seem to be a good fix for this to me.
The closest reasonable explanation I can come up with is that with the added Motorola software, there might possibly be another 'rotation' setting behind the scenes that we can't access that got out of sync with the normal Android rotation settings (read on how this might be an explanation for the problem on Samsung phones), but who knows what is really going on. Very annoying though, since the phone sensors appear to be working properly. I can't even write a simple text message in landscape mode because of this, making it frustratingly difficult with the small on-screen keys on the regular mode.
I updated the Baseband Version to NF6. now the screen rotation dosen't work anywhere. Tried rebooting and removing battery. Screen Rotation is turned on.

When viewing photos, videos, websites, etc. my phone used to smoothly rotate the screen from portrait to landscape view (and vice versa) as a single "window". So as I'd tilt the phone and whatever I was viewing would remain on the screen and rotate with the phone. All smartphones have this effect so I hope I'm explaining it clearly. Now it doesn't have that rotating effect any more. I can still view things in portrait and landscape, but instead of rotating with the phone as I tilt it, whatever I'm looking at on the screen disappears from one view and reappears in the other. Although the functionality is still there, the look and feel and overall experience is diminished.
I've checked the settings and screen rotation is turned off. I've turned it on and off while rotating the screen and the problem remains. I've powered down my phone and removed the battery a bunch of times and nothing's changed. I even reset the phone in safe mode and that didn't work either. Is there another setting that turns this effect on and off? This problem just appeared out of the blue the other day.
I own a z3. Its one month old. I have felt at many occasions that the screen auto rotation isn't working as it is supposed to. Many I times I need to re rotate the phone to get correct orientation.

When I am using phone in a wifi area, the wifi icon in the phone screen shows that the wifi connection is not stable, and periodically moves from low to high. Note that the wifi source is near me. Sometimes the touch screen doesnīt work and sometimes is works but not in a perfect way. When I try to type some numbers to dial using the virtual keyboard some keys doesnīt work out like the back button. When I type the back button the number 3 appears in the screen. I tried to downgrade and then upgrade the software using the desktop manager but this didnīt fix the problem and even after pulling the battery several times the problem remains.

I just recently upgraded my Z3 to Lollipop after that I tried to use the mobile data outside but it wont work there's no "H" or "E" with arrows up and down showing above the signal.
*Note (I'm using GLOBE sim card I usually use the mobile data when out side range of a WiFi, It works before after I upgraded it to Lollipop.)
My 9810 is acting up. None of the keys are working, even the 5 below the screen. Sometimes the track pad works but not when it is pressed, and when the back botton works it puts me into sreach mode and looks for the letter "H" only. The touch screen is fine. This was before upgrading to OS7.1. I have done multiple hard resets and it does nothing at all. This has been going on for three days now. It hasn't be dropped or anything.
Last night I upgraded to OS 7.1 now my back ground does not rotate properly with how the phone is being held it does rotate, When you hold it upright it thinks its on it's side and vise versa.
I just purchased a nokia lumia 800. But i have noticed a problem with the touch detection on the screen.
When i swipe (ex. for scrolling on the app list) then the phone some times detects the swipe as a tap, and then might open an app og an URL, or what ever is under my finger when it happens. This behavier is very random, and usually happens at the start of swiping (eg. detects me putting my finger on the screen and not lifting it again, but swiping, as a tap).
I upgrade my Xperia Neo V and it continuously connect and disconect wifi.

Before the update, it got locked on 30 seconds(max) in a cold start, and in a normal start, in about 5~10 seconds. After the update in the same conditions and same place, in a cold start, it takes around 1~2 minutes, and in a normal start it takes around 30 seconds. That's not normal, my friend has a Mini too and he is with the same firmware and his lock time on a cold start is around 25~30 seconds and on a normal start 5~10 seconds. I get the phone to the SE assistance, after 1 day they told me that was a firmware trouble and updated it again, but the phone still the same.
What should I do?
The power key/button on my device isnt working. I can't switch off the device and it worries me cos this started few hours after i performed the upgrade to Lollipop.
