The power key/button on my device isnt working. I can't switch off the device and it worries me cos this started few hours after i performed the upgrade to Lollipop.
View 7 RepliesGetting used to the new look with lollipop but ever since the upgrade my screen goes black and doesn't respond at all during a phone call. Have tried pressing all the buttons but always have to wait until the call ends. This makes it worthless during calls, especially if there is an automated system. The only time it does work is when using Bluetooth.

I dont know why? I bought this phone with lot of passion(since it is sony made) 10 months back and i really regret of buying this phone now.It doesn't has any warranty as it is bought from Singapore and i'm in India now. Please help me out with a solution apart from suggesting me to go to Sony Ericsson Service Center(They only discuss commercials despite of criticality of the part which is failed and no customer service is to be expected). The phone support is one more farse that the technician will be a very normal person and he only suggest to take the phone to nearest sony ericsson service center without even listening to your actual problem.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an unlocked M7, just recently updated from 4.4.2 to 5.0.2. No it's not rooted or anything like that.Now for some unknown reason the Home button has only one function: return to home screen. If I double-click it, nothing happens. No "recent apps" screen. If I hold it, nothing happens either. No app menu opens. The key doesn't even vibrate anymore, I think it used to?
The reason I know the key works at all is that it does actually get me to the home screen if I just "click" it I have tried clearing the cache (in the recovery menu), no difference. I have turned on/off all possible settings, no difference. I even booted into safe mode, no difference.

I would want to bring an issue to Sony's and all the Z2 users' notice that I am trying to observe a display burn in issue on pressing the power button while unlocking the phone a lot of times and this usually happens when I have set the brightness to adaptive. When I press the power button to unlock the screen, the colors burn for a second and the backlight comes to life with all the real colors the next second.
Its been happening quite a lot now and now I am atleast able to figure out that adaptive brightness is the culprit here. I am not sure is this another bug that sony needs to fix in lollipop or what it is? But just to mention, I have recently clean formatted my phone using the repair phone method on Sony PC companion and it has not worked to solve this issue. Lollipop is seriously making life bitter in a lot of ways than being sweet atleast for Z2 users like me. We would love to see the almost flawless Z2 back as it was on Kitkat 4.4.4.
I am not sure whether you all encounter there is no Dual Sim capability in Go SMS Pro when I upgrade my Z3 Dual to Lollipop? I have no issue with the default SMS client though.

I've tried "forgetting" the network, restarting the phone (including in safe mode). No success.
Ever since Lollipop upgrade I see many issues with my Xperia Z2. But most of all that makes me mad is that the upgrade changed my notification sounds I had customized. not only that now I can not select my favorite sounds for specific notification. can only get sounds and ringtones that are on Lollipop by default.

After an upgrade to Lollipop, I noticed my gmail label notifications are delayed, i.e. whenever an email with my label is received in my inbox, my customised label notification is delayed, until I unlock my phone and about half a minute later, the notification will appear.
2. Sometimes, the notification sounds (be it whatsapp, email or messages) in locked screen will sound warped.
3. After I unlock the screen and say I'm at my home screen, when I move to another screen, it does not load up properly.
I upgraded to lollipop today, all fine except my mobile data doesn't work.Tried turning off and on, switching to airplane mode and back, and changing mobile operator and back, still not working.

*Note (I'm using GLOBE sim card I usually use the mobile data when out side range of a WiFi, It works before after I upgraded it to Lollipop.)

been trying to keep nokia lumia 900 charged up at all times...last night went to bed with little over 50% power in battery and in about 2 hours, battery was totally dead.. I try not to let battery go totally dead before putting on the charger.. what caused the battery to suddenly lose all the power it had in a couple of hours... I can't afford this battery to do this when traveling.. I need the phone.. and where I am .. I have no idea how to get a battery changed in this phone... since I cannot buy a new battery and install myself.. Don't know why Nokia made a phone that the consumer cannot change the battery in it by himself... this is not good... I can't have the battery reaching 50% power and then suddenly have it go dead in short time... I had hard time getting it to respond to the electricity charger this morning when I plugged it in... I need to make sure I have battery life when out of the country and I do the best I can to keep it charged up all the times...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI wish Sony Mobile would revert from their stance of not offering the global equalizer setting by default to all apps. Before Lollipop landed the Clear Audio + setting applied to all apps including YouTube, Walkman, Radio Tunes etc. However, after lollipop landed this setting has been moved to an exclusive setting that App developers have to specifically code for. This situation is not acceptable as if they enabled global support for the EQ then if one simply wishes to turn the EQ off they can do so in the sound settings. Now accept for a few music apps you have no option to use Sony Clear Audio + sound enhancements which is sad. The phones output volume is not that loud which makes this EQ settings important to give that extra punch in the music. To me this decision is a deal breaker as Samsung and Microsoft have the global EQ enabled. Sony's decision makes no sense to me and it ruins what would otherwise be the complete experience on the Z2.I am considering a Lumia currently but would like to stick with my Z2 if there is hope of resolving this issue soon.

Without the charger i have tried but the phone wont switch on. I tried to do a phone call to the phone but it does not ring. Therefore the phone is off. I let the phone on before and now the phone is off and cant be swtched on.

I have a belt case (made by Insmat), that work very well with my Nokia 3120 classic and Nokia 1600, but my 3 phone N5230 seem not to like this beltacase because when I put th phone in it it comes very hot and it takes all the power from the battery in only few hours.
The phone goes so hot that it it almost inpossible to keep it on my hands.The belt case has a steel plate and magnetised plate to keep it closed. Those plates are sized about 1" * 2.5"...So maybe the phone cannot reach the net because the antenna is behind those plates?
I've had some problems with my X10 lately. Admittedly this was after a full-on day in the Scottish Highlands where the phone was exposed to cold and rain. Getting back into a warm car the phone started going mental, the led lights flashing like a Christmas party disco and the vibrate constantly on. After a session on the radiator I got some life out of the phone. It basically works except for the following:
- the top left power button to standby/turn the phone off does nothing (the phone switches itself on when you put the battery in)
- same for the bottom middle button to standby, although it will bring the main desktop up.
- the red led light is on permanently (this is so annoying)
I have re-flashed Gingerbread and had the phone on charge for hour upon hour to no avail. I have installed a free widget that puts the phone on standby but I can't power it down without taking the batter out.
getting the power button working and telling me if there's a way (hardware or software) to get the red LED light to go out (this means that any messages/missed calls reders the green light inoperative)

It's my Girlfriend's old phone, and she says it's around a year and 2 months old, so it's out of warranty (Assuming the warrranty is a year)
Thinking it was a software issue, I took the battery out and put it back in again, but now the phone won't turn on, as said button is not working.
I just upgrade my os during the weekend. I can feel the phone is getting hot in my poket just less than the half of the day the battery is drained out.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy power button suddenly stopped working this morning. I think it may have worked once with a really long delay... But since then I have to tap my screen a few times to wake it up. I'm worried that if my battery ever runs flat I won't be able to turn my phone back on.
Then I have realised my volume and camera buttons dont work either. They definitely all worked yesterday.
I'm really not happy with this phone. I look after it properly, it cost me a lot of money not long ago, its kept in a protective case and has never been dropped etc. I spent more money than I could afford on a phone thinking I should buy the best I can and I shouldn't have a problem with it being Sony, but so far I have been disappointed with it.
