Yesterday, I upgraded by BB Curve 9300 OS version from 5.0 to 6.0. After upgrading my battery backup doesn't work for more than 8 Hrs on standby. How can I restore previous version of OS ver. i.e. 5.0? Before the upgrade my device was working absolutely fine.
View 2 RepliesMy curve's (which is 2 months old) battery is dying after only 18 hours on standby, and it takes it forever to load anything. She just gets stuck with the little "loading" clock in the middle of the screen. That, plus the fact that I fear answering a single call will make my battery die at the rate its going. Is there anything I can do?
View 1 Replies View Relatedupon updating i notice that the "key lock" key and the "standy key" located on top of the phone is not functioning anymore. Unfortunately the phone does not go onto standby mode when pressing the mute key. The mute key does however mute a telephone conversation.

It is jailbroken but I have jailbroken since the first day the hack was released and only a couple of days ago the battery started to drain really fast.I do have winterboard and activator on my iphone.A couple of days ago my iphone would be around 97% or 96% of over night stand by. View 1 Replies View RelatedI updated my OS on my 8900 to the latest version yesterday 5.0.0.681 Most of it looks the same, however I used to use the lock ley (top left ) on my handset, to password lock my unit before putting it in my pocket. Now I find this only put the unit into and out of standby. Does anyone know why this has been changed? Can it be changed back? I am really angry that this usefull feature has been removed without the ability to customise my handset and put it on.Why could it not have been an option to change what this key does? From a quick search on Google I see lots of other people have the same problem, and some are even paying to download aps to fix the problem!! For now I have changed my side convience key to activate the password lock, so all I have to do is keep remembering to press side button instead of top button. I cant even find anywhere that I can contact RIM about this, and request they reinstate the lock key. Very disapointed with the way this has been handled and the lack of support / advice / comment from RIM.

I've upgraded my BB Bold 9900 software to 7.1.0 bundle 1310. Before that my battery lasted for 2 days with moderate use. Now it drains completely in 8 hours, whether the BB turned on or off! Maybe even how I can roll back the upgrade?

1. Phone boot time, from battery out to usable (home screen icons displayed, etc): 3 minutes, 15 seconds! YES!!!
2. Threaded SMS messaging is nice!
3. Phone doesn't feel any "faster".
4. Being able to set the phone to automatically adjust for time zones is nice--I don't recall that being an option before and has always bugged me.
5. QuickPull Free didn't work at first. Had to be uninstalled and reinstalled.
6. Standby button no longer putting phone into standby.Still works for mute/unmute though.
Of all of these, item #6 is the only one that bugs me a bit.I think the standby operation still works in general, as when I put it into the holster, the screen did turn off, but I don't use the holster and usually "lock" the phone by holding down the mute button to go into standby.
So, does anyone know if the Lock button does pretty much the same thing as Standby, or is there really a big savings in battery life by going into standby mode? As long as battery life isn't too adversely affected, I'm pretty sure that I'll stick with this release. Hopefully the next OS upgrade will restore the button... unless someone here knows how to fix the issue now!
After i Update firmware my batter is lasts around only 3 to 4 hours i seen any applications , therez application called SecureWizardPreInstaller, but its not openeing and its not closing what it is all baout how to solve my problem?? And also my mobile became dead slow.

It was bought in March 2011 and today after sending 3 texts and checking the time, maybe unlocking 3 times, the battery only has a third left. I charged it all night. Wifi is disabled, and I don't use data. Previous user had it as a work phone sending several emails and using data, pin, calling and texting, so that could be a reason why the battery life is so poor, I'm just skeptical about purchasing a new battery when it seems RIM has had some battery issues. Any advice on whether I should go ahead with the purchase? I'm just worried I'll be facing a short battery life with a new battery in a matter of months.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've had a BB Curve 9360 (I think!) for just over a year and in the last few months it has started to get really hot and run the battery down really quick. I charge it up over night every night and before lunch time it has drained completely without even using it except to maybe send the odd txt msg or check the time. I have checked that every application is closed down, turned off my WIFI and sometimes even my phone service but it seems to have no effect. It doesn't always do this it used to be once every couple of weeks and now it's more like every other day.

And it was all working fine until a couple of days ago.Now the battery only seems to last for about 2.5hours, from being 100% to shutting off because of low battery. I havent got applications running in the background, and have read and followed all of the maximise battery life posts.I used to be able to leave it for a day or more with it being fine.

I bought BB curve 9360 on 16th December 2011 from the carrier Windmobile but since January 2012 battery charge does not last more than 2 to 3 hours after fully charging the battery. And after this charge I can only talk 20 to 30 minutes.

Before I decided to buy this model, I considered the battery life because I would always be out most of the day , the reviews were great actually better than the reviews for my old 8520 but I was surprised to find out that my battery does not even last more than 12 hours. Even without using it for anything, it starts the day fully charged and loses juice by 6pm, when I have to turn it off. It said loading but the little cog wheel was not turning and after about ten minutes i took the battery out as every button was frozen. Now it seems to be working OK but every few minutes there is a little black square appearing in the middle of the screen with like a second hand in it. I am guessing there is some sort of programme running in the background?
