BB Curve :: 8900 Is Suddenly Using Up Its Battery In 2 Hours?
May 24, 2011
my 8900 is suddenly using up its battery in 2 hours. This has happened after i tried to log onto App World yesterday but the whole phone jammed. It said loading but the little cog wheel was not turning and after about ten minutes i took the battery out as every button was frozen. Now it seems to be working OK but every few minutes there is a little black square appearing in the middle of the screen with like a second hand in it. I am guessing there is some sort of programme running in the background? I have tried hard re booting (ie removing the battery when the phone is on) a couple of times but the battery is still draining and the little black square keeps appearing?
I have a Blackberry Curve 8900 without a data plan. I've been using it with wifi for two years, but yesterday afternoon, it stopped working. My wireless network is still working, but my Blackberry can't detect the wifi network at all, but it can detect my neighbor's.
I tried deleting the save profile and looked for the entwork again and found nothing. I also tried taking out the phone bettery for thrity seconds and then putting it back it, but it didn't work. Rebooting the router didn't work either. t work. Rebooting the router didn
My Curve 8900 went white screen suddenly. Phone still works, but nothing visible on screen. I did a wipe and reload of application software to the latest version using Desktop Mgr to no avail.
My Curve 8900 is less than 6 months old, and suddenly the keyboad will not work, so I cannot make/receive calls, and although the trackball works, it will not "click" to unlock it. Seems to be an intermittent fault. As I own the Blackberry (it is not bought through a service provider), I tried to contact Blackberry customer services UK, who seem to be reluctant to deal with consumers.
yesterday I got a phone call, so my ringtone was ringing and then suddenly the sound of the ringtone become very small. I thought it was a temporary problem. After finished talking on the phone, I tried to call to my 8900 and the ringtone become small like it was. Then I tried battery pull. Test the ring again and still the same. I also tried to play music and the sound is as small as the ringtone. All volume level already at the highest but all music and ringtones are so small, they cannot go any louder.
Can anyone suggest anything to help me please - since a few days ago I cannot send or receive any picture messages. I havent changed any of the settings or downloaded any apps so Im struggling to understand what it could be...?
my phone dies so fast. I was told by rogers to reload my cell through blackberry. So i tried. and when I click on update there is nothing in the left corner. They told me to hit the View other versions and the nothing is there. I did order another battery just incase but it sucks that half way through school I have no cell.
My battery is draining in 8 hours where it used to last longer. I've replaced it twice and I have reason to believe it is the device itself. I have shud down most of the unnessesary functions (ie Wifi, Bluetooth, etc) but the battery still only lasts about 8 hours when doing nothing. What can i do?
I've had a BB Curve 9360 (I think!) for just over a year and in the last few months it has started to get really hot and run the battery down really quick. I charge it up over night every night and before lunch time it has drained completely without even using it except to maybe send the odd txt msg or check the time. I have checked that every application is closed down, turned off my WIFI and sometimes even my phone service but it seems to have no effect. It doesn't always do this it used to be once every couple of weeks and now it's more like every other day.
So I have had my blackberry for a bit over a year now. And it was all working fine until a couple of days ago.Now the battery only seems to last for about 2.5hours, from being 100% to shutting off because of low battery. I havent got applications running in the background, and have read and followed all of the maximise battery life posts.I used to be able to leave it for a day or more with it being fine.
What can I do to solve this, as it is really inconveniencing my life at the moment, because it just isnt staying on long enough for me to do anything.and its a blackberry curve 8250 and the battery says 'capacity 1150mAh' and C-S2.
I bought BB curve 9360 on 16th December 2011 from the carrier Windmobile but since January 2012 battery charge does not last more than 2 to 3 hours after fully charging the battery. And after this charge I can only talk 20 to 30 minutes.
I just bought a BB curve 9920 model. I observed that my battery discharges very soon or rather within a day. I dont have any many apps running in back ground what so over.
what to check to verify that battery is fine. Can i claim for a battery replacement as i have a bill with warranty?
I just want to ask regarding issues on my Blackberry 9380's battery performance. Before I decided to buy this model, I considered the battery life because I would always be out most of the day , the reviews were great actually better than the reviews for my old 8520 but I was surprised to find out that my battery does not even last more than 12 hours. The battery would also be warm every once in a while.
My curve's (which is 2 months old) battery is dying after only 18 hours on standby, and it takes it forever to load anything. She just gets stuck with the little "loading" clock in the middle of the screen. That, plus the fact that I fear answering a single call will make my battery die at the rate its going. Is there anything I can do?
My lovely Blackberry 8520 doesn't have any more than about 12 hours battery life. Even without using it for anything, it starts the day fully charged and loses juice by 6pm, when I have to turn it off. I've had it since March, it has had a new battery (about a month into my contract with Orange), and I also have Battery Booster enabled.
My battery in my blackberry curved died. I have plugged it into the wall charger. It turns on and it says it is charging but it still says I have zero battery, its been plugged in for 3 hrs. When I disconnect the phone from the plus it turns off.
I replaced my battery yesterday for my Curve 9300 (3G) smartphone. I started the day at 100% charge. After 8 hours, the battery is at 40%. My provider says there's no issues; I've not changed my useage habits and have used the phone for less than 1 hour today.
Yesterday, I upgraded by BB Curve 9300 OS version from 5.0 to 6.0. After upgrading my battery backup doesn't work for more than 8 Hrs on standby. How can I restore previous version of OS ver. i.e. 5.0? Before the upgrade my device was working absolutely fine.
Til this week both phones worked great. Made no changes to either of my phones but suddenly first the 3Gs now my Iphone 4 batteries die within 2 hours, just the other day I was getting 2 days on a charge, now 2 hours. What the heck is going on, and what can I do to fix them. One phone is used by a terminal cancer patient who NEEDS the phone (3Gs), this is no good for doctors and nurses if it is dead. Lost important text messages from nurses yesterday involving a doctor appointment that he missed today...
My wife's BB has suddenly (last 3 days) started discharging the battery at a silly rate full to flat within 3 hours without use. The only activity seems to be a small clock appearing in the centre of the screen intermittently which she says she hasn't noticed before. This also comes on when writing mails prior to the typed in letter appearing on the screen It has the latest soft and firmware.
My curve 8520 is 30 months old. My battery is suddenly draining very quickly, an hour or so. Was fine yesterday. I have tried three other batteries, previously fine, and the same thing happens.
I bought my Blackberry a month ago and the battery life was pretty good (3 days). Then the other day I downloaded a few apps (dictionary, flashlight and barcode scanner) and also added a lot of music onto the phone. Now the battery life just goes after a few hours. I've turned off Bluetooth and WiFi. I don't know what is sucking all the life out of my battery. I haven't browsed the internet or talked on the phone. It just sits there doing nothing and the battery goes dead.
I've had my blackberry curve 8520 for quite a long time but in the last couple of days I've noticed that its getting quite hot and I'm worried about this? Also one morning I noticed my blackberry battery was on half but I left it of for most of the day and turned it on for about four hours but in that time it had died. The next day it was fully charged by 10 am and by 5 pm it was dead. I don't understand why its doing this, I've never had this problem before and I haven't made any changes. I have the same amount of apps and songs and I had before this problem and I hadn't used any apps or listened to any music this day so it just doesn't make sense.
I have an 8900 and my battery lasts about 15-20 hours even though the phone is in standby mode for most of the time. Is this normal? How long does yours last? No WiFi or Bluetooth on all the time, rarely WiFi.
my battery on the BB 8900 drops really quickly.I have the fone from about half year, and everything was normal until recently starts to drop so fast without any reason.i charge the fone in the morning and in the evening there is the red battery symbol-which doesnt allow any network conections at all.I dont think there is running any appl in the background. How can I check that to be 100% sure?i dont use wi-fi and bluethoth ,and i get a few emails and fone calls,i dont use more then 10-15 min internet a day.
so could you tell me what can I do to maximize the life of the battery? to extend it?is there any app i can use or sth else plz? if you could recommend me some battery saving tools?
I purchased a replacement D-X1 battery for my 8900 Curve yesterday. When I removed it from the box I noticed that instead of a series of English numbers and letters against the Lot Code there were 2 Chinese letters / symbols. Can anyone advise if this means if I have been had and it is not a genuine battery?
I have a 8900 but as from last week it started playing up,firstly the screen used to go blank at certain time,i purchased a new battery but does not seem to work, when i power it up it initalises fine then the light goes off, when i connect via the data cable i can see everything ok on screen but the keypad seems to have locked, have tried updating the software and deleting 3rd partyprogrammes that have been downloaded to the devise, any other suggestions?
I am a new eager blackberry user, I got a 8900 recently. I was updating it this morning and was in a rush and I took out the battery by accident. this gave me the app error 205. I've read some of the forums involving this error where I should reboot the whole OS. The problem is that my DM reads the device. When I try to reupdate the phone it stops at the reading service information (roughly 7% of the bar) and it won't go further. I've also tried restoring the phone, but no luck. any help?
