I own a z3. Its one month old. I have felt at many occasions that the screen auto rotation isn't working as it is supposed to. Many I times I need to re rotate the phone to get correct orientation.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI have noticed that my screen rotation no longer works on my Atrix. The phone still detects the correct orientation (AndroSensor app's 'Orientation' degrees change correctly as I rotate the phone). Games that rely on the accelerometer still function normally. The operating system just seems to do nothing when I rotate. Browser doesn't go to landscape, and other apps that normally can switch to landscape, just don't. The setting to Auto-rotate is checked.I have pulled the battery, I have rebooted, I have tried changing settings, rebooting, changing them again, but I can't get it to work as it did a few days ago. Searching this sort of problem online seems to come up with similar issues with other people across a myriad of different Android devices, yet no one really has any solution on how to fix besides doing a 'factory reset'. A factory reset doesn't seem to be a good fix for this to me.
The closest reasonable explanation I can come up with is that with the added Motorola software, there might possibly be another 'rotation' setting behind the scenes that we can't access that got out of sync with the normal Android rotation settings (read on how this might be an explanation for the problem on Samsung phones), but who knows what is really going on. Very annoying though, since the phone sensors appear to be working properly. I can't even write a simple text message in landscape mode because of this, making it frustratingly difficult with the small on-screen keys on the regular mode.
My xperia z2 phone does not rotate the screen when held in upside down position. In other words, it does not rotate the screen 180 degrees from a normal up position. 90 degrees either side rotation is okay. This happens in the safe mode as well. Is that a bug or a feature? Is there a remedy?

1) rotating from landscape to portrait mode works fine (but sluggish) as long as you rotate the phone to your left, but it doesnt work if you rotate it to the right or upside down, is this hardware or software related?
2) in the same topic why is it so sluggish to rotate from Landscape to Portrait? (again is it SW or HW related)

When I am using phone in a wifi area, the wifi icon in the phone screen shows that the wifi connection is not stable, and periodically moves from low to high. Note that the wifi source is near me. Is this a phone problem and minus for Xperia ray and Sony?

I've tried restarting the device, even switching off the sensors but it takes several frustrating attempts before it starts working again. Nokia had better do something about this in their next firmware.

View 5 Replies View RelatedNow i m using official 4.0.4 based custom Rom,i have used all custom roms....(also check Cm9) But problem in official 4.0.4 based custom Rom is that Notification up and Down is lagging and 3d games are not smooth like Temple Run,Modern combact, gta 3,etc.. Running official 4.0.4 is like i m running Nokia 5233 i also overclock cpu 1ghz to 1.8ghz for increase fps for games and fix otification laggyness but overclock alteast not helpful... i also check Cm9..it is 2x smooth ui and games also...Temple run is run like super gingerbread.. but the problem in CM9 is that video recorder not working so thats why i m not using... If Cm9 runs smooth on this device so why official 4.0.4 is not smooth...
HARDWARE IS OK FOR XPERIA NEO V FOR ICS ics 4.0.4 can run smooth but sony does not want make smooth OS for old device 2011 for example: HTC One V also has same hardware like xperia neo v(1 ghz=1 ghz,Andreno 205 gpu=Andreno 205 gpu) htc one v is 10x smoother interface than xperia neo v, my friend has htc one v(temple run runs like fire) both devices has ics So why sony firmware not smooth......

Our iPad Air 2 does too, and also allows 360' or rotation if we need a different position. I have always hated the fact that LG put the headphone jack at the bottom of the G4, and no 360" rotation...what's a good, basic, screen rotation app? I find the stock Android rotation works fine, just would like the screen to display with the bottom on top.

What I've done so far:
-Checked that the button for Screen Rotation was ON
-Safe mode to see if a third party app was interfering with the programming
-Factory reset
None worked, my screen still won't rotate. It's stuck in portrait mode. I opened up the package with my phone this morning. It worked fine in the beginning. But no longer.
I asked earlier about my screen rotation not working... i tried your solution but it did not work. Is there anything else I can try?

Love my fone so far, but had not too much time playing with it so far, but one thing that bugs me is that my screen autolock straight after a call even if I am not back to my home screen, how can I stop it to do this.
Reason is that when I unlock it again, I am at the previous screen, I have then to cancel screens to go back to my home page to start again, this is a pain.
Had this phone less than 2 weeks, auto rotate worked fine.
it will not work with any of the features on the phone now, even with it switched on.
Tried an app from the app store , this works fine.
My screen rotate does not work. I tried everything but... I think that sensor does not work properly because it doesn't matter that auto rotate is on .

And when i take the phone vertically to slide and answer at the same time screen trying to rotate to portrait mode and the touch screen or the phone can just freeze making me not to be able to answer the call.Is there a way to fix this issues? i've missed a lot of incoming call because of this issue. Was nokia trying to imitate the iPhone making the rotation sensor? then they should make it better by providing updates for it cause it's very irritating.
