Is any one having sensor problems as i am? I updated my device to v.40 and now my auto rotation sensor only works when it feels like it. I've tried restarting the device, even switching off the sensors but it takes several frustrating attempts before it starts working again. Nokia had better do something about this in their next firmware.
View 7 RepliesOn my blackberry the middle sensor key regularly stops working. I have had no other problems with anything else and it doesn't happen all the time but when it does it makes it very difficult to use the phone. A friend of mind said that 'I may need to reset the setting back to the original setting.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am not sure if Moto is aware of the bug introduced in .173. Ever since the OTA a few months back the orientation/rotation sensor randomly stops working. I haven't been able to track it down to any particular app, but instead have a feeling that it's caused by any app that forces a horizontal orientation. I don't want to limit it to just that though, but basically after this bug is triggered, tilting the phone manually into horizontal orientation doesn't rotate the screen and any games/apps that use the tilt sensor stop responding to it completely. I launched Elixir tools while this issue was occurring and in the Sensor section of the app the two sensors that deal with orientation, the orientation and the rotation vector sensors are jumping all over the place. A reboot fixes this for a few days or possibly until i launch an app that triggers this bug and then it's the same thing all over again.

Sometimes I like to read a book on my phone while laying on my side, but the text keeps turning vertical. I could not find a way in IOS 4.2.1 on an iPhone 3G to turn off the auto screen rotation. Do the newer phones and/or IOS's have this capability?

View 15 Replies View RelatedI have noticed that my screen rotation no longer works on my Atrix. The phone still detects the correct orientation (AndroSensor app's 'Orientation' degrees change correctly as I rotate the phone). Games that rely on the accelerometer still function normally. The operating system just seems to do nothing when I rotate. Browser doesn't go to landscape, and other apps that normally can switch to landscape, just don't. The setting to Auto-rotate is checked.I have pulled the battery, I have rebooted, I have tried changing settings, rebooting, changing them again, but I can't get it to work as it did a few days ago. Searching this sort of problem online seems to come up with similar issues with other people across a myriad of different Android devices, yet no one really has any solution on how to fix besides doing a 'factory reset'. A factory reset doesn't seem to be a good fix for this to me.
The closest reasonable explanation I can come up with is that with the added Motorola software, there might possibly be another 'rotation' setting behind the scenes that we can't access that got out of sync with the normal Android rotation settings (read on how this might be an explanation for the problem on Samsung phones), but who knows what is really going on. Very annoying though, since the phone sensors appear to be working properly. I can't even write a simple text message in landscape mode because of this, making it frustratingly difficult with the small on-screen keys on the regular mode.
I have the 5800 XpressMusic and a few days ago the touch screen stopped working properly.When the phone has been off for an hour or two everything works fine for the first couple of minutes, then it stops recognizing presses/unpresses and holds a lot. For this reason it sounds to me like a software fault but the guy in the local phone shop reckons the screen is pressed in and needs to be physically repaired.Any ideas?

In my memory card I found many folders namely _PAlbTN. is it a virus? Do I need to reformat my memory card? And what do I have to copy on my PC when I format it? Just the mp3 videos and pictures? My phone came with software v 40.0.0.005. I took it to the showroom where I bought this phone and they advised me to update latest software and that will solve the issue. I updated to v 50.0.005. But within another one hour I ended up with same problem. I am seeing pink horizontal lines before reboot. It automatically reboots while messaging and when I try to do something with maps. It hangs often when I see any video file. I took it to nokia care again but they formatted my mobile and installed v 50.0.005 but am having the same problem again. How do I solve this issue.Is there any option to claim for a refund?? Any option to replace handset?? Preferably different model? I find lot of problem in using this phone which is not user friendly.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAs soon as I updated phone to latest firmware, auto rotate stopped working. Previous firmware I had was v21. I made update through Nokia Ovi Suite. I tried several methods to restore auto rotate:
1. restore factory settings (soft reset)
2. unmark auto rotate, restart, mark auto rotate
3. removing battery for few minutes
4. finally tried hard reset
And auto rotate is still not working. Is there anything else that can be done to enable auto rotate again?

I've just bought a 5230 and I'm really annoyed that I don't have the functionality my E51 had where if it was really dark the screen would dim down. This is an important thing to me since I tend to read at night and I dislike having to go all the way to settings and so on.

When this happens, I turn off my phone and turn it on again and everything is normal, but the problem still exists.
