On my blackberry the middle sensor key regularly stops working. I have had no other problems with anything else and it doesn't happen all the time but when it does it makes it very difficult to use the phone. A friend of mind said that 'I may need to reset the setting back to the original setting.

Got my Defender the other day. I noticed that when the phone is in the case the proximity sensor stops working. I take the phone out and it work fine. I emailed Otterbox and the guy said to clean the plastic window. Really?? you dont think I tried that before sending the email? I am going to try my brothers case to see if its the case. My brother told me that he had the proximity sensor issue before the case and now his works fine. My last step is to reload 4.0.1 but I have to figure out how to get a video off the phone first.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI am not sure if Moto is aware of the bug introduced in .173. Ever since the OTA a few months back the orientation/rotation sensor randomly stops working. I haven't been able to track it down to any particular app, but instead have a feeling that it's caused by any app that forces a horizontal orientation. I don't want to limit it to just that though, but basically after this bug is triggered, tilting the phone manually into horizontal orientation doesn't rotate the screen and any games/apps that use the tilt sensor stop responding to it completely. I launched Elixir tools while this issue was occurring and in the Sensor section of the app the two sensors that deal with orientation, the orientation and the rotation vector sensors are jumping all over the place. A reboot fixes this for a few days or possibly until i launch an app that triggers this bug and then it's the same thing all over again.
View 14 Replies View RelatedClean boot (restart), the proximity sensor works fine (when on call it turns screen off, when moved away from face screen on). As soon as I make or receive call via bluetooth (Motorola brand btw.) The proximity sensor stops working. When on call it will not turn the screen off... Rebooting the phone will fix until a call is made/received via bluetooth. This was confirmed with other Moto phones (Photon...) as well as different bluetooth devices.

Is any one having sensor problems as i am? I updated my device to v.40 and now my auto rotation sensor only works when it feels like it. I've tried restarting the device, even switching off the sensors but it takes several frustrating attempts before it starts working again. Nokia had better do something about this in their next firmware.

I read up a fix that has to do with disassembling the phone but i dont know how to go about it. Does anyone have any other fix or a guide on how to disassemble the phone?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI was doing a reboot on my blackberry, as it was booting, at about 70% it just stops. I tried to connect it to the BB desktop manager so that I can try to update the device software, but it only connects to my pc when the battery is removed, when I put the battery back in, it disconnects then switches itself on, loads up till about 70%, then stops. I even tried leaving it the entire night with hope that it will get through that stage, but it still wont budge. I tried downgrading the OS to v4.6.1 but the phone doesn't switch on at all. So I upgraded back to v5.0.0 and it still gives me the same problem.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with my Curve 8520. This morning I received an update notification for the T Mobile app, so I upgraded in the usual way. The device then needed rebooting, so I clicked "Reboot now". The white bar that loads on the start up screen will not proceed further than about 3/4 of the way along. I have tried removing and reinserting the battery. I have tried holding the escape key while it loads up. I have also tried both of those while its plugged into the charger as well. Been trying for about 4 hours now to get the phone to restart, but with no success.

View 17 Replies View RelatedNoticing someting wierd with my new iPhone 4 - the proximity sensor doesn't seem to work well (or at all..)When the phone is up against my ear or if I'm cradling the phone between my ear and shoulder the proximity sensor should disable the screen and touch controls until it detects that I've pulled the phone away from my head. My iPhone 3G excelled at this. My iPhone 4 however seems to want to keep the screen on at all times, causing "cheek dialing" issues, mostly trying to initiate FaceTime.

last week i upgrated my Hardware form 4.1 to 5.1.1. Until this time everythings are ok. On my old firmware my proximity sensor working Good but in my new hardware not working. My iPhone is black and o tried all the things restarted, reset, restored, and turned my old firmware but nothing... Everythings goes the bad. So I recently upgraded to IOS 8.1.1 and since I made that update with my iPhone 5 32gb my proximity sensor has stopped working and has caused me to face time or end calls or mute conversations with my cheek while on a call. I have done a soft reset, and rebooted numerous times and the problem persists.

I Opened it up a few months ago to change the back cover, which was broken; and I broke a bit the plastic piece of connector 3 of the mother board (see at the Attached image); However, It worked perfectly... Until now, that I've reopened my iPhone to change again the backcover (false covers aren't very good...), and when I finished... Noticed that the earpiece is not working! I can't hear anything while calling! I know that the connector 3 of the screen is the cause, because proximity sensor isn't working neither...
But my question is:
Is there any way to know which part of the "connector 3" has been broken? The MoBo, or the Screen Flex? Because if it's the second, I can replace it for a few bucks, but if not... :S Or... Is there any other connector that I could damage or put badly, so they are doing contact with wrong pieces, etc etc? Notice that I had to disarm the whole iPhone to change the cover... So perhaps.
Earpiece and proximity sensor do not work. I can hear people fine when they are on speaker. The screen does not turn off when I place my hand over it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have just bought a Torch 9800 but am annoyed by the failure of the proximity sensor to detect my face during a call. I cannot say that the sensor doesn't work because when I made a call to myself and use my finger to cover the sensor, it detected it and blank the screen. It also worked when I place my palm near it. However, it never works when I actually put it next to my ear. I think may be it's because I have black hair and blackberry designers never expected that. To solve this problem temporarily, I need to cover the sensor with my thumb during calls but it's uncomfortable to hold the phone that way.

If that's the case then my problem shouldn't be the screen protector as whatever is to the left of the camera is not covered..
Whenever I dial a number my screen goes black as soon as I hit the call button. It does not wait until I put the phone up to my ear as my 920 and 640 do. I have to hit my power button twice to get the screen back. It's acting as if the proximity sensor is stuck on activated.
Since my last software update my G Sensor has stopped working, and as a result, my screen will not auto rotate. The top G sensor level (horizontal) is stuck to the far left but the bottom one works.
